Jesse Jackson would support David Duke for President for the right price. He is the grandfather of all corporate shakedown artists.2 points

I do see that the gallery description ends with: "Much more to come on this project, stay tuned." It would be nice to see a station roll out all elements of a new graphics package at the same time instead of doing it piecemeal.2 points

Vivid Zero added the new O&O weather graphics to their gallery: https://vividzero.com/work/abc-weather/ Considering that nothing else outside of the weather elements have shown up anywhere, plus Vivid Zero has put up a gallery of what's already made it to air, could this mean that the long-rumored new O&O look is just standardized weather graphics and that the "much more to come on this project" simply means that the rest of the O&Os will be adopting it soon???2 points

There was a fire in 30 Rock this morning, sometime between 4:30 and 6:30am. I recorded TINY at 6:30, and they started with the NBC Early Today show, but then Michael Gargiulo came back on and said that there had been a fire alarm that went off elsewhere in the building, and they had to be evacuated.2 points

I know its holiday season so there's different people filling in however I thought todays pairings were interesting: 4PM: Rob Elgas & Judy Hsu (normal) 5PM: Terrell Brown & Karen Jorden 6PM: Terrell Brown & Judy Hsu 10PM: Terrell Brown and Judy Hsu It was Val and Tanya this morning. Diane Pathieu filled in for Roz. Has she previously filled in on traffic before? I wonder if they'll use this time to test pairings. I've never been a fan of Cheryl Burton. I don't care for her style. However Terrell and Judy was a surprise and a good pairing.1 point

This is getting confusing - the two Chucks - Scarborough (WNBC) and Henry (KNBC)!1 point

Maurice was anchoring Saturday night, which was rare. So maybe he needed the day off and filled in Saturday night instead. But Dana and Kristine is rare, too!1 point

My first thought was...Good lord!! Between the illness/death of Chris Bradley four years ago this month, and then the Mike Davis scandal and now this...another sign that the once-mighty 10TV has fallen on hard times. We might need to hold a séance and reach out to the legendary "American Dream" Dusty Rhodes so he can cut a new version of his classic promo just for them...1 point

I'm pretty sure it was the fact that Jenny was probably pretty low on the totem pole a KFMB as far as getting in the anchor chair. At that time they had Stella in the chair, with Neda and Heather (though she was doing weather) on the side lines. And they already had Marcella behind Barbara Lee. Everyone is young enough to be in their roles for a while if that's what that want.1 point

When they did the prime time special, Rick quickly mentioned that Monica had retired. This isn’t the case since she’s now a reporter at Nasdaq so it feels like that something negative happened between her and 6. Yes, she got a farewell mention but it seemed small considering she had been at the station for a long time and had become a popular household name.1 point

Crazy, was thinking about this today. I was having a discussion with a family member — who retired early — and is very big on people of a certain age calling it quits to enjoy retirement. The way I see it, when you love and are passionate about a career, you aren't rushing to leave. All things considered, when one retires, what is there to do at home? Chuck aside, in the average citizen's case, retirement often means sitting at home, watching daytime television, and waiting for the eventual. Especially if their family doesn't live close and their friends aren't in good health or have passed, going to work is what gives many of the elderly the drive to keep going. In Chuck's case, I'm sure he has decent wealth to travel and live well. We aren't privy to his personal life, so I'll guess that he really just loves his job. It pays well, isn't physically taxing, and simply requires him to sit and read a pre written script for about 22 minutes excluding commercials. Plus, Chuck's usually on about 3 out of 5 nights a week. As long as he remains in good health and isn't demanding any dramatic salary increases, lets see how long he can go for.1 point

That’s simply not true. They haven’t been keeping an entire facility open for a little watched morning show and its staff. Yes, that team represented the only live news on HLN but they were hardly the only parts of the operation left in Atlanta. The main technical core of CNN in still housed at the CNN Center along with CNN International, CNN en Español, CNN Newsource, CNN.com, and more. In fact, many of CNN's producers are still based at the CNN Center. According to the AJC there are about 1,500 employees based in Atlanta.1 point

I'd love ABC to revive it, heck maybe they can make it LIVE so it would bring more interest. I wonder if they've been thinking about it, they've had Wayne Brady compete on Dancing with the Stars on Disney+ this fall and he hosted the American Music Awards on ABC last month. It would be cool if they made him as the new host and incorporate new talent while mixing the legacy talent from time to time.1 point

Cox Media Group is Apollo Global Management wearing Groucho Marx glasses. It is no longer an Atlanta-based outfit. It is cheaply run out of New York with the Cox family having minimal input. Already Apollo is planning on dumping the radio stations for a mere pittance. With all due respect, Soo is using quotes from random strangers no one has ever heard from as "proof" of his track record. It's not helping him in any way and the deal is dying on the vine. I'd take a complaint which you conveniently dismiss as "a press release by Dish" with more seriousness than anything that comes out of Soo's mouth or his sycophants. Try dealing non-stop with people who coined the insipid phrase "Tegnaitis" and rooting for Apollo/Standard General to buy out Tegna because they have an irrational hatred of Dave Lougee... to hell with how many people will be canned as a result... and maybe, just maybe, for once you might be able to see why I'm a tad coarse.1 point

There was a promo video posted in the WCBS thread about a Jets show they air that had the “CBS New York” branding on it instead of “CBS 2”. KCNC is gearing up to rebrand to “CBS Colorado” and the 9am newscast they launched this week is called “CBS Colorado Mornings”. WWJ has already rebranded itself to “CBS Detroit” and their entire news department will be called “CBS News Detroit”. And when KCAL launches their new morning newscast in a month or two, it certainly won’t be called “KCAL 9 News Mornings” since KCBS will simulcast an hour of that show at 6am in between their double-run of CBS Mornings. Not to mention WFOR has been teasing a rebrand to “CBS News Miami” for a few months now. The evidence is overwhelming at this point.1 point

I really like the KABC opens best, while I prefer the KGO lowers.1 point

I’m going to miss the California O&O package (KABC, KFSN and KGO). Even though there are different colors, variant schemes, different consistencies with the fonts on 3 of the stations, It was the most simplistic look without fancy animations and all the bells and whistles.1 point

I noticed how it's now referred to as "World News Tonight" rather than "ABC World News Tonight", as it used to be years ago.1 point

Yeah that makes sense about KFMB For KUSI the odd thing is they were short anchors. They just put a new hire in to replace Hunter on the weekends....Jenny could have had that slot in theory. And when Elizabeth left there was a morning slot, though guess Kacee got that. Jenny's weeknight anchoring was quite sudden - literally right after she won the 2 emmys, as if the station was trying to send a message to the other anchors. Ginger still hasn't popped up on another station with her move to Scottsdale / Phoenix. Last night was a college broadcasting night, with the new weekend anchor stumbling through doing weather on the green screen. Also managed to walk behind the other anchor during a close up of the anchor as she walked to the weather board.0 points

I was surprised no date was given when the local Nexstar TV stations go dark on Comcast guessing Jan 1 12AM in my opinion. I think Nexstar has other deals with pay-TV that ends at on Dec Charter Spectrum & Mediacom I could be wrong on that will not know unless there is a scroll on the TV. Nexstar filed a lawsuit against Comcast also Charter Spectrum in 2021 over WPIX both want the FCC to make WPIX own to Nexstar. That could be dropped when a new deal becomes final. I think that Nexstar & Comcast dispute could be a long one in my opinion. The end of 2019 was when Comcast & Nexstar signed the 3 year deal. Forgot to say WPIX in the post last night. I didn't know that Nexstar also sued Spectrum I thought that was only Comcast found out on B&C article on Comcast & Nexstar stations going dark.0 points
