  1. I'm mixed on the new scorebug, it'll probably grow on me but my first impression was that is big and a little all over the place from the giant logos to the line at the end of each logo, and don't get me started on the touchdown animation!

  2. So Weigel apparently had the option to refuse carriage of LIV and Nexstar let them decline? If that's the case then Nexstar has no standing in their threat against CBS and they're free to.put the time-buy on stations they own.

  3. ...to "Paramount+ with Showtime". The suits say it's all about streaming. The New York Times has the details.

  4. Pick a name. Either call it Paramount+ or just call it Showtime Extended or something. To call the literal cable channel Paramount+ with Showtime. Imagine what BET will be rebranded to. Tyler Perry's Paramount+ with BET, CBS, whatever shows we would have sold to the CW, Showtime, KCAL News, CBS News New York and everywhere else, Nickelodeon, MTV, Gayle King, Star Trek, Moesha reruns, Yellowstone spin-offs and other Taylor Sheridan creations but not Yellowstone itself cause we let that go to Peacock, who may or may not merge with Hulu, and also we aint got Comedy Central cause we let that go to HB...Disco...whatever the heck they'll call it. Y'all know you're thinking it.

  6. The new scorebug has debuted. Looks nice. Don't know if this is new, as I'm only watching this because it's free but, the scorebug is interchangeable to allow any information on the players and other things like total plays. Expanded details on the players Flag piece of the scorebug Referee warning piece of the scorebug Booth review Touchdown: Eagles Touchdown: Chiefs These Touchdown graphics are very cartoonish. Even the images of the players are drawn. Scoring board information. I wish a variation of this worked with the Touchdown graphic. Looks nice and elegant with a touch of sportiness. The Super Bowl logo is nice and 3D, rebuking the now-typical flat trends Another 3D transition

  7. 4 & 11 pm typically sees David and Natalie rotating solo rather than consistently having them anchor the broadcast together. The same with Darlene & Michael/Pat & Gus on TINY. Feels very disjointed. Simple lineup: Adam & Rayna 11am & 4pm David & Natalie 5 & 11pm Chuck & Somebody other than above 6&7pm

  8. It’s also just a rehash of the 6pm news with more ad breaks since there’s no sports report.

  9. It's rotary. It always switches between David and Natalie. Chuck anchors sometimes at 7pm. I would find it better to put Adam at 5 pm and 7 pm and take him out at 11 am.

  10. Do viewers think that because the logo is read like the way it is, it's meant to be said that way? I guess then YouTube should actually be called “Play YouTube”, the upcoming Super Bowl should be called “L-V-I-I Super Bowl”, and FedEx should be called “Fed-Arrow-Ex”. Now, I'm not saying no. Obviously, there's wordmarks on logos to help people know what it is called. Heck, there's even some logos without the wordmark, so it may be hard to tell what is it called, unless they are so popular you don't even need the wordmark. But I'm also saying some logos can include symbols that are meant to be there that includes words, but it's not meant to be said with the brand. So I'm pretty sure that what we're seeing in some of these new CBS News local logos are station symbols, because as I stated a time ago, CBS is researching which brand is more popular, which station should ditch the channel number, etc. I guess the stations that want to keep the channel numbers, this may be the route for their news counterparts.

  11. I could see Comcast/NBCUniversal looking at purchasing and merging Peacock into Hulu.

  12. The streaming service? Cool. The premium cable channel? There's no way they'll rebrand to such a long name like that.

  16. Likely better than what TEGNA would’ve built from scratch, for sure.

  17. Independent based on what??? Where/why are you getting the impression that WDIV is in a bad place with NBC? People are leaving stations all over the country, in droves. Yes, some operations are getting hit harder than others, but this is a problem for the whole industry.

  18. February 13 is the debut of WCSC's new set and new Gray GFX package.

  19. It’s the same package that WANF has. Eventually all Gray stations will be migrated to it once graphics hardware is upgraded over time.

  20. I have confirmation of this as well, one of my contacts at a local Gray station said it was the best package ever produced by Gray (I understand that doesn't take much) and will be available to most stations end of summer 2023.

  23. That was 15 years ago. The industry and the consumer is not the same today as in 2008 and admittedly, Fox may have been way ahead of their time. To be honest, I don't think Jim Gardner would have cared if they changed to "ABC Philadelphia News" and unveiled a redo of MCTYW by Made Music a week before he retired.

  24. Actually Schitt’s Creek originated on Canada’s CBC. Pop! just technically picked it up in foreign syndication…

  25. God forbid they simply move '5 Live' to OTA, instead of canceling it and (likely) going in a more traditional direction, blending in with the 3 other stations already on at that hour.

  26. Better than the studio they use for the daily news.

  27. I wonder how long it will take to install them in 113 markets (that assumes that Gray doesn't get into any more markets in that timeframe). There are a few stations I believe still with legacy graphics from nearly a decade ago.

  31. What is going on with WDIV? They are losing people right and left, and bringing back people who already left. Are they preparing to go Indy?

  32. This is why I eventually see WJBK becoming Fox Detroit, and WTTG, WNYW, and WAGA becoming Fox DC, Fox New York, and Fox Atlanta.
