  1. More likely scenario: Production team runs with the existing bug.... CSD: where's the new bug? Production team swaps out during a commercial break.

  2. My personal philosophy... be as scarce as possible with the viewers about your personal life, on air and online. Have separate social media accounts for work and your personal. Make the personal social account accessible to friends only. People crave personal narrative to create drama. Don't make it easy for them.

  3. Honestly, I won't be surprised and will laugh hysterically when this has consistently better ratings than News Nation.

  4. Jobina Fortson out at KGO Huge loss to ABC7 Mornings. She decided to leave on her own terms and wants to spend time with her family and head back home to Atlanta. The bond, the chemistry is definitely real on and off air with the KGO crew. They even called themselves “cousins.” the last half of the 7am streaming show was dedicated to her starting at the 25:15 mark of the video https://abc7news.com/14154597/

  5. It’s so interesting to me. Be they colleagues, friends or family, no matter what they’ve shared with me, or me with them, I will always respect without objection when they want to keep something private. I certainly would not presume that just because someone I watch on TV has talked about “X” that they have ceded any right to maintain privacy over “Y.” The “borders” can be wherever they need to be for each person and are free to move and change at any time. Then again, I also don’t care who you get it on with. If there’s an HR type violation, ok, whatever the consequences are, they are. I’m also not presuming anyone needs to share those details, assuming no criminality and a resulting public record. I might be moderately curious, but no one owes me anything. Life will move on just fine. Maybe I’m just an outlier.

  6. The fact that Coastal plays shell for Allen in Tupelo-Columbus gives me hope (and I cannot believe I'm saying that in this context) that Coastal would turn over operations to Forum. But the higher ups have really cracked down. If Forum had a mind like a few other people around here, they'd have bought the non license assets in Fargo and made WDAZ the Fox station.

  8. Must have been a last minute call out. Mike must be sick. Channel 7 almost never has one anchor alone on newscasts longer than 30 minutes...except for weekend evenings. They usually don't have anyone fill in for Joe or Sandra when they're off for some reason.

  10. Tonight at 11, Sandra and Joe anchored. On a Wednesday!

  11. The fact that it's launching as a cable channel says a lot about who the target audience is: older people who are more likely to still have cable TV.

  12. I never understood the degree of hullabaloo over two consenting adults doing whatever it is they do. The issue with their spouses is among all of them, not anyone else’s business. But whatever, what’s done is done and the world goes on, ideally not hearing one more word about their love lives, wherever they ultimately go.

  13. Cool to see, finally something cooking for the west coast ABC stations, and great seeing the Proxima Nova font as well. OK, KABC (ABC7 LA) you’re due!

  14. Weigel is definitely not an afterthought in the market and they've long left their 90s era struggles at this point. They definitely have the more powerful schedule and good overall lead-ins outside mornings, and they (along with the other four ops in town) hire good people from everywhere rather than MMJs who are hamstrung from the get-go. WTMJ is just in a fugue state where they're still stuck trying to recapture their 90s peak, but with Carole Meekins about to depart they no longer have any of those people in the newsroom and it's mainly either personnel with no connection to the area, or those who came on to try to salvage things, or those who are just there because they sucked up to management still living as if Journal hasn't fully ceased to exist. There's just no encouragement there, or any management that wants it to be unique; their GM did absolutely nothing with WGBA and somehow got promoted, and their 'no comment' in that Next TV article says it all; it's a station that wants to do the bare minimum without Cincy catching onto them.
