  1. Honestly, having Sam back so much has been my issue with the show. Without weather, he just becomes the show's (second) mascot, the comic relief and chuckling idiot in the background. He still has great chemistry, but the purpose for his presence is non-existent. And while I love Robin, her vacation time is insane. She must be on the Jimmy Kimmel PTO plan.

  2. The only reason why GMA beats the other two is the local news lead ins are great, not for the content or personalities. It feels like I'm watching rich people at a party because that's what it is. The only people worth watching are Ginger, George, and Michael. I know unpopular, but Michael brings a certain energy to the show that makes him an asset. Robin is off so much that she doesn't make an impact, at least for me. Lara should be canned and replaced by Sam who can fill the lifestyle role and fill in for Ginger.

  3. I’m one of the longtime Good Morning America viewers who watch out of habit. I have watched since Joan Lunden and Charlie Gibson were co-anchors, survived the Lisa McRee and Kevin Newman experiment, and believe the current show is bad. I watch the first 10 minutes, especially if George is leading with big political news, then tune out. The show lost so much of the energy and appeal it once had. I still do not understand the concept of Michael Strahan as a news anchor. Robin Roberts seems to have unlimited days off. George should be given expanded time for hard news and political coverage. CBS Mornings has better news judgement. TODAY has better energy.

  4. I think that started after Jim Lehrer's retirement, when Woodruff and the late Gwen Ifill succeeded him, not too long after the rebrand from just "The News Hour" to the "PBS NewsHour", still a few years before the 2015 set. I remember during Lehrer's last few years, even if the newscast had two anchors (Woodruff often co-anchored with Lehrer I believe), they would not be sitting at the same desk, one would be in one part of the set, while the other was on the opposite side, separated by a duratran, almost like to give the illusion that they were in seperate places. That started once the new set debuted, with the social's rebranding to "PBS News" as well, even the website. Honestly, it's about time, especially in this digital age, the news operation should not be limited to just an hour, and it honestly makes things confusing in my opinion, imagine if the big three done that. 5. No one is bigger fan of Good Morning America as a television institution than I am. I’ve watched avidly since the early days of Charlie, Diane, Robin and Tony. My family as a whole has watched it almost as a morning ritual since the 80s. It’s not just an opinion. The show in its current iteration is garbage. I wouldn’t point to ratings given the show has bled nearly 3 million viewers over the last several years and shows no signs of slowing.

  7. Subjective statements ahead... Ratings don't necessarily translate to quality. The PBS Newshour is a journalistically stronger show than World News Tonight but it has lesser ratings. People might think GMA is a good show. They may also be watching it out of habit. People may have abandoned Today after the Ann Curry incident and never looked back. People could be unaware of CBS's Morning Show because the network has switched programs so frequently over the years. Keep in mind, everyone is not as journalistically literate as the people on this website. Im calling 2024 GMA hot garbage because I've seen how superior the show was in the 70s to early 2000s. Regular viewers may not have that frame of reference.

  8. Noticed that DC News Now happens to now have an undelayed live stream, joining the small number of Nexstar stations that has one: https://www.dcnewsnow.com/dc-news-now-live-stream/

  9. I think in Denver Perry Sook doesn't want to work with the union and there was a protest at KDVR/KWGN. I don't think in West Michigan there is a union for the Wood TV, WZZM, WXMI, WWMT I'm not sure on that.

  11. After CBS ended Late Late due to profitability, NBC is now tightening the budget at Late Night. Seth Meyers' house band to be gone by fall. https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/seth-meyers-lose-night-band-013435108.html
