Desk is nice, set is in line with their previous abstract looks but it still sucks. What is that shape? South FL? Too many video walls, way to common of a trend on tv now. Welp, at least its better than their early 2010s set The one positive is that the dark lighting masks their previously cheap looking HD. It's also better than the overly fluorescent lighting on TV these days. Other Graham stations looks way better. Wish they drew inspiration from these and added a tropical Florida touch.2 points

MSNBC has pulled Morning Joe off the air today out of fear someone may say something inappropriate about the Trump assassination attempt.2 points

Interesting that the red stars disappear when the bug turns red, and they recenter the logo.1 point

The novelty of main anchors being on sunday for a major historical event is certainly worth a note. Keeping talk of other stations in their respective threads is a fair call. BUT To be fair, Now Bergen asked where CBS's main anchors were which drew comparisons to other stations for a context based response to their answer.1 point

I've lost track over the years since WPLG was sold to BH....How much of the station is still operated by Graham or is it basically a perpetual outsourcing agreement?1 point

There's just something that I don't like about TV3 being used for GMA, it's just too dark!1 point

Looks like one of those news set stock images my middle school used for a green screen, what the heck is that desk?1 point

Do we need to document other stations' line-ups in the thread of another, when one of those line-ups was already mentioned in that respective stations thread? Nah1 point

I guess my thinking as the coverage was continuing was that CNN, unlike MSNBC, is trying to get back to that point where they are the channel people turn to when big news breaks- given the size and scope of the event, CNN thought bringing in their notable hosts (Blitzer, Anderson, et al) would be worth it to keep eyeballs on their coverage? MSNBC also has the advantage, as previously mentioned, of drawing from the mothership whenever they want during breaking news. I have to say, from channel surfing as the news unfolded, while most networks held their own, I did find it notable that CNN and NBC brought in their main anchors shockingly quick (although, to CBS and ABC's credit, their respective anchors held their own).1 point

At various times, on MSNBC, the "NBC News Special Report" banner has been present during its coverage while being anchored by some of the weekday MSNBC anchors. It makes me wonder whether or not NBC O&Os and affilates were given the option outside of the mandatory special reports to preempt regular local programming to simulcast MSNBC (at least during the late night or early morning hours). Where I live in the Los Angeles area, that was not the case on KNBC, however.1 point

A lot of stations get a clean feed, and since it was during local time (Deco Drive), WSVN preferred to do that and stick with it rather than an awkward rejoin of the network at 8. In network time, stations can do what they want, and it wasn't a 'red alert' event requiring taking the network feed. I've seen a lot of stations do it before because they prefer both to make their own calls and not to be left in the lurch if the network doesn't cover it.1 point

Sad that Jason and Amy didn’t get a chance to say goodbye even or that there was no announcement. These two were key players in the launch of the network and subsequently hosts of key programs.1 point

Now can they go ahead and remove her and Jason's bios from the website, or did they lay off the one person who knew how to do that?1 point

The meteorologist from WIS Columbia drove up that night that Jason was killed.1 point

I don't think they're going to make it. Already, most dayparts are no longer fully live, instead recycling content from the first hour of any given show. It just keeps getting worse and worse.1 point

According to FTVLive, they've been trimming the fat behind the scenes too, which may explain some of the switcheroos going on with programming...1 point

If "Larry Ellison's Trust Fund Kid" has a name–and he does–he should be referred to by his name here. No need to describe him by a sophomoric moniker. Just sayin'...1 point

I feel like you're ignoring the movie and TV libraries Paramount owns - which would be the real attraction. But a Big Tech firm being interested in that would undermine a key principle of the Streaming Wars™: that content is interchangeable and ultimately disposable.1 point
