  1. Let them keep that old theme. KEYC & KNVN/KHSL are the only two clubs that's using it. While Inergy, Aerial & Guardian are being way overused.

  3. I like it fine and don't think it's as awful as many are saying, but then again, this site tends to hate anything new nowadays. My biggest gripe are the player stat line in the score bug is too small and transparent. They need to lower the opacity at least. The second gripe is the down and distance indicator on the field is very hard to see. If their goal was to make it appear as if it's painted on the field, they succeeded in making it look like it hadn't been repainted all season.

  4. And since this new look will be used on XFL Saturday...

  5. KTVU's always had a business-oriented, no-BS format when it comes to morning news.

  6. I wish KTVU was like that in the mornings. They only play music on the 9am newscasts. However, during the evening newscasts around the :43 mark of the hour, they tease a story and then a toss to the final weather check with a camera shot outside while using a song related to the story. For example if it’s a water skiing squirrel story, they will use like “Surfing USA.”

  7. I'm already enjoying the new Circle network. As a country music fan, I love watching the Opry Anniversary Specials and looking forward for Opry Live to debut this month.

  8. Here's another WFLD newscast, this time from 1994. For a while in the '90s, WBBM and WFLD were trying "out-WSVN" each other with tabloid news values and graphics. Bizarrely, this edition leads with a health story:

  9. That's a very huge get for Circle. Circle's national HQ is in Nashville, Coffee, Country and Cody comes from 650 WSM Nashville, the Grand Ole Opry is in Nashville, the capital of country music is in Nashville... you get the point. This is one market that Circle needed to get into and they (finally) got it.

  14. Yeah, WJZY via Fox is definitely upping their stock in the news product. Good Day Charlotte seems to be more like their sister station WAGA's Good Day Atlanta, where there is aim to have contemporary music played particularly Billboard Hot 100 songs during the newscast bumpers. Brigida is definitely a relatable personality and seems to bring appeal to the growing number of black professionals that are relocating to Charlotte. It's going to be interesting how GDC evolves with Brigida there as well as Nick, Paige, and Jason are very relatable to younger viewers (25-45 year olds) in general. This might be the right mix for the station to accelerate ratings growth for WJZY in the mornings. This is also giving credence to the second thoughts because Charlotte is a significant growth and very competitive media market with growing household incomes.

  16. This. Some of these might see changes next year, but this is the bullshit we'll get to look forward to. Yikes.

  17. I'm with you on the "none of this feels like Fox" thing. I think what makes it worse is how rarely Fox uses their own music anymore. The broadcasts feel very generic and unbranded. The graphics don't scream "Fox". The production and pop music doesn't scream "Fox". It's all quite generic.

  18. My gripe is that none of this feels like Fox. A cheap NBC style, unorthodox like ESPN, though I still don't hate it. I could live with the touchdown animation, but those comic book-looking illustrations of the players are so stupid, especially since they don't have renderings of some players. Luckily, that's a very specific thing that could be too complicated to replicate league-wide.

  19. I like the graphics. Surprised some are saying that it's a downgrade from the previous look. There should be plenty of tweaks before the 2020 NFL season begins and as they make their way to other properties, I think.

  20. We have yet another Tegna station dumping a traditional newscast (sigh..) KTVB has officially launched "The 208" in the 5pm timeslot and it's meant to take a conversational approach to the news of the day https://www.ktvb.com/article/news/local/208/ktvb-new-show-208-brian-holmes-idaho-news-smart-honest-perspective/277-3403d71b-5f5c-4c67-8b1f-021fd2f2d750 I'm not entirely sure what the 208 is referred to since I'm not from the area but all I will say is it's either going to work the way KUSA's "Next" has worked or it's going to be an epic disaster.

  24. Circle is on in DFW, KTXA (21.4) has it. I checked before 5am this morning, they were airing Hee Haw. I checked TitanTV also and Circle is listed; hopefully the schedule is correct.
