Rick and Monica are in tonight!
-
The intro to the 5/5:30 was the same as the Sunday intros and included Sarah. The 6 only had Walter’s name. Not sure if it’s permanent but it’s been rumored for a while. They definitely need a co-anchor, whether it’s Sarah or Alicia or someone else.
-
Another odd fill-in today. Rick always anchors the noon solo on Fridays as Sarah is always off, but today Alicia co-anchored with Rick at noon filling in for Sarah.
-
Lot of fill-ins today. David Murphy in for Chris Sowers this morning. Adam Joseph in for Melissa Magee tonight. Alicia Vitarelli in for Sarah Bloomquist (she filled in for her at noon during the week and even had off Friday like Sarah does). Interested to see what happens this week as Sarah is in Minnesota along with 4pm/10pm anchor team of Brian Taff and Sharrie Williams.
-
Jim and Jackie anchored at 4 but Jim was on with Erin at 6. Wonder what happened to Jackie.

Useless... maybe. It’s worthy of a mention though because in the past whenever something out of the norm has occurred it's usually been a preclude to some sort of a change or retirement. Besides, the Chicago posters do this all the time.

I feel people hated Megyn without even giving her a chance. Haven’t seen this incident, but why isn’t anybody making a big deal about Norah’s and Gayle’s pushing for answers from Ann Curry which when it was clear Ann didn’t want to answer. You know why? Because that’s what journalists do. They ask tough questions even when the other person doesn’t want to answer.

Sorry but you’re wrong. I watch the noon news regularly. If either Sarah or Rick are off, the other person anchors solo, no matter the day. If they both are off, the fill-in is either Matt solo or Alicia solo. Only once recently has there been two fill-ins (Tamela and Jeanette). The last and only time besides that they have had fill-ins in the Rick/Sarah era was when they initially were testing Sarah with Walter Sunday nights.
-
Odd that Alicia is co-anchoring with Rick at noon. Rick usually anchors solo if Sarah is off.
-
Adding the newsreader back would also setup the perfect fill-in person for the main two anchors and also setup a succession plan too.

I like the choice of Hoda (would have also been happy with Willie or Craig as well) but I think in the long term she should give up the 4th hour. I wonder how breaking news during the 4th hour will be handled. I've said before, but I wish they would be bring back the newsreader position. I wonder when Savannah or Hoda is off who will be the main fill-ins.

A bit confused. Friday night on the 11pm news at the close Jim said make sure you join Gray Hall and Chris Sowers (with a pic of both of them) on Action News Saturday morning. But Alicia was on co-anchoring with Gray Saturday morning. I always thought Nydia was the weekend morning co-anchor. Does she only do Sundays? And is Saturday typically solo anchored?

Has their been any other fill-ins besides Hoda?
-
Some interesting fill-ins. Walter was in Christmas night for Jim (odd since Jim is Jewish) along with Chris in at weather for Cecily. Today Jeanette was in for Matt in the morning and she and Tamela are both in for Rick and Sarah at noon.
-
Still no sign of Saturday 5pm for next few Saturdays. Also, I think tonight may be the first time Jeanette Reyes has filled in at the anchor desk.
-
Anybody know where Ed Hanna's been? I feel likes he's been missing a few weeks now.
-
I agree she's a great anchor but live breaking news must not be her thing. She had this issue when there was a plane crash (?) at Philly airport and she was on WPVI. Thankfully, Jim Gardner got back to the studio and joined her and things were much better.
-
WRC has two meteorologists in the morning too, Sheena being one of them.
-
I have a feeling Walter will go at it solo. He does the 10pm solo on Saturdays. I guess they could theoretically have Nydia (who co-anchors weekend mornings) stick around too. But they should just put Sarah on full time on weekend evenings. So it's not seen as a demotion, she should be the main fill-in for Monica and Sharrie when one is off. For the time being, Monica can add the noon show to her co-anchor duties. If Fox does purchase WPHL, I believe that Action News at 10 on PHL17 is not for long, and would free up Sharrie, Brian, and Adam for noon as well.

With regards to the Michelle and the weekday morning slot, maybe she was the better choice, but did anyone think that just maybe the decision was more than just who has better chemistry with Ken? Perhaps it was a cost-reducing decision? If Michelle would've gotten it then Toni or someone else would've moved into Michelle's weekend slot, resulting in a huge pay increase for that person, as they were adding anchor duties to their role. Under the current scenario, no new anchors were added.

Anybody catch who anchored the 4pm and 5pm today?
-
So apparently Gray Hall was anchoring the Sunday noon show a few weeks ago and suffered a medical emergency while on air. He was rushed to the hospital and emergence surgery was performed to remove a cyst that had grown and was blocking blood flow. He's now recovering and hopes to return to the air soon. It appears he was anchoring solo that day. I wonder who took over for the remainder of the show.

Just saw a promo for an interview with Lisa Thomas-Laury (formerly of 6ABC) scheduled to air on NBC10 on Tuesday at 11pm.
-
Maybe an April Fool's joke?

Sounds like some additional anchor changes at WVIT. What happened to Tara Joyce at 4pm? Interesting that they're splitting up the 5pm show.
