Wasn't implying that Jackie was being supplanted by Tracy. Just saying they could've easily used Denise or Rosemary to sub as they do otherwise. It seems Tracy is in the mix along with other two to be paired with Keith, and they could mix up the evenings pairs as they did when Renee was still there.
-
Tracy is anchoring at 4pm again today with Jim. I'm still convinced that they're testing different pairs in the mornings and afternoon/evenings. I see she was on in the morning too. On the weather front, the schedule for the time being seems to be Violeta Yes handling Saturdays and Glenn handling Sundays while getting a weekday off (on that day Bill usually adds the 11am while Sheena adds the 4pm/6pm).

On today's episode of "As All My Young and Restless Days of our Daytime Drama Lives Turns": http://www.latimes.com/entertainment/envelope/cotown/la-et-ct-kelly-ripa-live-20160422-story.html http://m.tmz.com/#article/2016/04/23/kelly-ripa-michael-strahan-live-abc/ Kelly will be back to work on Tuesday. She needed some time away to process this all. There's a distinct possibility Michael may be gone before September. ABC has given Kelly assurances Live won't be cancelled, although if GMA expands, it could get moved to 10am.
-
I wonder if Lisa Rayam will take her place on Good Day Atlanta, making room for Stephany Fisher in the evenings.
-
Thankfully you're not in charge. I think many more sympathize with Kelly than those who are labeling her as rich and stubborn. So firing her would be an even bigger PR nightmare than they already have in their hands. Plain and simple, not only was this a bad decision, but to top it off, it was poorly handled. Give it a week for heads to cool off and I'm sure things will be a bit better.
-
Was searching the web but I could not find anything about this. I honestly don't remember anything about this. The only thing that I've heard about GMA and Kelly is she was mentioned as a fill-in for Robin when Robin was out all those months.
-
I don't know the reason why, but it happens all the time.

I will repeat that canceling LIVE is a stupid move. It's one of the top rated daytime shows (might be the top rated). As for her being offered a position, this is news to me. I don't recall any of that. I remember them wanting more testosterone on the show after Sam and Josh left, hence why Michael was brought on. I often think that people need to get over themselves when they get mad, but I think in this situationshe was justified in taking the day off. While ABC is not obligated to give any notification, they should have given her the common courtesy.

http://www.tvguide.com/news/kelly-ripa-michael-strahan-protest/ Well this story just seems to be getting awkwarder by the day. Supposedly Kelly sat out in protest on today's show as she was not notified ahead of time of his decision. Wow, they have to work together another 3-4 months. This whole things has been poorly planned from the beginning. 1. Not notifying co-host ahead of time. 2. Having him exit at end of summer. Better bet would have been for them to give him his swan song at the end of May and use the summer to test out co-hosts so they could start September with a new co-host. Instead, they will start September with rotating co-hosts, and based on the last two times they searched for a new co-host, may have to sit through a year of that. 3. I understand the want to strengthen your morning show, but why do it by weakening one of your other shows (yes, I know it technically isn't a network show)? 4. The article also includes the notion that GMA may be looking to extending until 10am. If this is the case, it would be smart to move LIVE to 10am sandwiched in between GMA and THE VIEW (not sure how that would work in C/M/P time zones). It would be stupid to cancel the show as it performs extremely well in the ratings, and ABC should know how hard it is to get a successful talk show (Katie, FabLife, The Revolution, among others).

http://www.ftvlive.com/todays-news-1/2016/4/20/kc-station-hires-traffic-reporters-doppelgnger I used to enjoy reading this website, however, I've become disgusted as of late. First, he posted video of the child of a WFOR producer a while back. You leave family, particularly minor children, out of your stories. No ifs, ands, or buts. Then when the Wendy Bell story broke, there was a story about her almost everyday for many days straight. Now, his new obsession is Kacie McDonnell. He doesn't like when they question him and instead posts their emails (which I'm sure he cuts and pastes to his benefit). Like I said, I used to enjoy reading his website, however, I think he has become a mean bully who has no boundaries as far as crossing the line.

Today has 7 (Matt, Savannah, Natalie, Al, Willie, Tamron, and Carson), so I don't see them having 6 full-time anchors as a problem or as laying the groundwork for Lara's departure.
-
I feel like FOX NFL Sunday would have been the logical one to drop, as the only traveling he would then have to do is from GMA's studios to LIVE's studios. However, I believe the bigger factor was for him to be more available for GMA (5 days vs 2 days AND entire 2 hours vs just first hour).
-
Well, by offering him a salary increase, they essentially did take him off, or at least that was an intended consequence. Yes, LIVE is not an ABC network show, however, it is an ABC property as it is produced and distributed (via syndication) by different arms of the Disney/ABC family. It airs on all the ABC O&Os, and most of the stations that carry it are ABC affiliated, particularly in the bigger DMAs. So it seems like they are weakening one property to strengthen another. All this has me wondering if GMA is planning on expanding into the 9am hour (essentially pushing back LIVE to the 10am hour on most affiliates). I doubt they would cancel it as it's already been renewed through 2020, and has great ratings (I believe it's #1 or #2 among syndicated shows). I don't believe Rachael Ray (CBS property that airs on a lot of ABC affiliates) has been renewed or canceled yet, so that may provide an extra hour depending on what happens with it.

No biggie, but just an FYI, there is an ongoing discussion about this in the GMA thread in the Network News forum.

Strahan leaving Live! and joining GMA full time: http://variety.com/2016/tv/news/michael-strahan-quits-live-to-join-abcs-good-morning-america-1201756502/ http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/michael-strahan-leaving-live-gma-885488 Interesting bits from the articles: -GMA has taken a newsier shift and other than the opening greeting, Lara does not appear until 7:15 at the earliest. -Strahan leaving Live! over the summer and begin full time at GMA in September. I wonder who will be his replacement at Live!. A few come to mind: Jesse Palmer, Nick Lachey, Anderson Cooper, Neil Patrick Harris, Sam Champion, Mark Consuelos, Cameron Mathison. Also, I wonder if this means he may leave FOX NFL Sunday at some point and join ESPN in some capacity.

I'm a big fan of Rosanna Scotto, however, something definitely rubbed me the wrong way in this interview: http://www.adweek.com/tvspy/rosanna-scotto-tells-ted-cruz-he-wont-win-new-york/168618 So is she implying that it's okay for Donald to say he agrees with partial birth abortion because that's in line with New York values and because he's from New York he can classify at as such? I strongly disagree with that assertion. I don't want to get into a political discussion or into a discussion about what's politically correct, but if it's not okay for one person to say, it's not okay for another person to say either! Also, as a newsperson I don't think she should be labeling the conversation as a "dust up", seems unprofessional since it was far from that. Disclaimer: I support neither Trump nor Cruz.

Elgas may not want to wait 15 years to be #1, but why wouldn't he take #2 until something else comes along? Also, not sure he would've succeeded Rob at WMAQ as they seemed very high on Stefan at the time. You could argue Ravi deserves it more, but I think Elgas is the smarter choice looking to the future long term and also a better fit. I guess everyone's ruled out Hosea.

Sandra Bookman has been weekend evening co-anchor at WABC for as long as I can remember. Since she's been there Lori, Sade, Liz, and Shirleen have all joined the station and Sandra's still on weekends. Rob Jennings was weekend evening anchor at WPVI from the late 70s until his retirement a few years ago. Granted, the weekday 6/11 never opened up during his tenure (and still hasn't) and the 5 only became available once during the 2000s. So it's possible Ravi stays on weekends.
-
At 4pm, perhaps Rob Elgas? Also, will Alan continue at 6? Seems like they should have went with Alan & Kathy at 6 & 10, Hosea & Cheryl at 5 & 7, and Rob & Linda at 4.

Sheesh? SMH is more like it. Your reply to my post mentioned the anchor change whereas my post that you quoted was referring to format. EDIT: Not interested in the back and forth.:rolleyes: Hence why I am just adding on here. That way you still get the last word below and you remain satisfied.

nynewslover knew that Kala and Craig were gonna anchor the first part. He was asking what the linked article meant by a "revamped lead-in". Nothing to do with the anchor pairings!
-
While I think Suki is okay, perhaps it is time for change there too. I will say though, that Kori seems so dry that I don't think he would have been any better with a different co-anchor. This show was in it's heyday when Craig Treadway & Tiffany McElroy anchored 5am-7am, and John Muller and Lynne White anchored 7am-9am, with Linda Church on weather, Emily Frances on entertainment, Larry Hoff on features, Jill Nicolini (and before Marysol Castro) in Air11. Once Lynne left, it was the beginning of the downward spiral. Their current graphics package sucks. The blue and orange don't really scream news, and the graphics are too bulky. Tamsen needs to go at 10. Bring in a Jackie Hyland or Cathy Hobbs or even Jodi Applegate to anchor at night if they don't want to revert to Kaity.
-
My post was more of an answer as nynewslover's question of what was meant by a "revamped lead in"? What I was saying is the first part with the first set of anchors might be more newsy while the second part with the second set of anchors might be more fluffy.
