Even if they'd offer him the lead, I think he grew up outside of DC so it'd have to be really enticing for him to leave his hometown.
-
Glad to see him! One of my all-time favorites!!!

I don't think anyone was trying to sound disrespectful. It sounds like you are equating not agreeing with you to disrespecting you. I apologize if that's what you're feeling, but definitely not the intention. I just don't find what you're saying to have a real chance in happening. Just like when you mentioned WNBC hiring some random reporter out west to be thier main anchor. Could it happen? Yes. Is it likely? No.
-
If you are saying whatever and cursing you are throwing a temper tantrum. You are getting offended because others don't agree with you. There's nothing wrong with having a difference of opinion (as far out there as that opinion may be which is often the case with anchor shuffling with you). If there are cliques here, I haven't noticed nor am I a part of one.
-
People? I think one person said it, not people. And why you getting so excited? A3N said he doesn't see that happening and I agreed. No need to throw a temper tantrum.
-
Agreed... if anything happens at all.

Yes. Diana (who was on at 6/11 with Bill) had expressed a desire to lighten her workload because of family. When the 5pm co-anchor spot opened (with the exit of Rob Hanrahan), they moved Diana to that spot (next to Roz) and hired Liz to sit next to Bill. Then Roz left because she was passed over for 6/11 and was replaced by Sade at 5 (Sade took over the noon from Lori for a short time after being hired but once she got the 5pm noon reverted to Lori). Then in 2011 the 4pm is created with Liz expressing a desire to lessen her hours, so she dropped 11pm for 4pm with Sade picking up 11pm.

WPVI has a way of foreshadowing when an anchor is retiring or leaving. They brought in Eva Pilgrim in December 2012, and was mentioned that she was hired as an anchor, which she didn't start doing until July 2013 when Rob Jennings retired (she replaced Walter who replaced Rob). WPVI hired Sharrie Williams as contributing 5pm anchor in March 2014, and she replaced Shirleen at 4pm who departed 14 months later. Gray Hall was hired in November 2015 and replaced Eva Pilgrim after she announced she was leaving a month later. So perhaps things work similarly at WABC and Shirleen's hire is a foreshadow of someone leaving in the future (a well thought out long term plan).

I actually think it's a good idea. It gives him more exposure and could help attract viewers to WNT.

Another departure: http://www.ftvlive.com/todays-news/2016/3/4/philly-reporter-headed-to-nyc I wonder who's going to fill in now!
-
I think Kyla works in the background at KYW since Katie's been back. However, I believe she resides in NYC so this is probably better for her.

Why the double standard for conservatives? Have all the other cohosts said who they're supporting or leaning towards?
-
I caught a show with Paula moderating and actually enjoyed her in that role. But I agree, if Whoopi goes it's Joy's job to lose. Also of note, Meredith will have more time on her hands come May and Elisabeth has more time as of two months ago, although I think both are under contract with their respective networks.

Sorry. That's just a post that stood out in my mind and I happened to remember because of my extreme disgust for those shows. Wasn't trying to be creepy or vindictive, just trying to prove a point.

Per post #3824 in the "Out and About" thread (http://forums.tvnewstalk.net/index.php?threads/out-and-about.11429/page-192#post-147937) on December 27, 2015, you stated you also watch Wilkos. Nonetheless, it's shows like these that contribute to the dumbing down of America. They provide no educational value (or any other value for that matter) and are "Trash TV". Say what you want about The View, but it's a million times better than Maury or Wilkos.

This coming from someone who watches the likes of Wilkos, Springer, and Povich

I think this season has seen a bit of a rejuvenation. Next season will probably see higher ratings with the election in full gear. I predict that you'll be wrong.

Seven months she's been on leave. The Jim and Jackie pairing at 4/6/11 and Keith and Denise/Rosemary/solo at 5 has been going on for months. Honestly, I'd like to see them give Tracy a chance on the 5pm. It'd be nice to have a familiar face in the evening again, and I enjoyed when she was paired with Keith in the mornings.

Has any CW affiliate time shifted the prime time programming outside of KPLR & KWGN? This seems to be more of a MyTV thing as all their programming is second-run programming. Outside of KOVR, KPLR and KWGN, I don't know of any Big 5 affiliates (ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, CW) that have time shifted their prime time programming outside of the network-preferred time slots (it's a bit more common in late night or daytime). KPIX used to do it, but stopped doing it. KPLR & KWGN do it so they don't compete with their sister stations (KTVI, KDVR) at 9pm with news. KOVR should really stop doing it as all the other stations in Sacramento follow the recommended schedule. Jeopardy/Wheel, ET/Insider, and Extra/AH seem to be paired together on most stations, particularly in the Eastern and Pacific time zones. Jeopardy and Wheel because they are both game shows, ET and Insider because one is a spinoff of the other, and Extra and Access Hollywood by default (they were also distributed by the same company for a period of time).

Alicia's on throughout the 4pm hour. I don't believe she appears at all during the 5pm hour.

Reports have said that he'll be reporting when he joins in April. I'm sure he will probably fill in as well.

Can't calm down if I wasn't excited to begin with! I just don't see the appeal in Gus, that's all.

Keith Jones's girlfriend was in a bad accident: http://www.adweek.com/tvspy/former-miss-new-jersey-and-anchor-injured-in-car-accident/164003 Prayers that she recovers fully.

No wow on Gus getting passed over. Not sure why you and some others are so high on him. But this doesn't bode well for David and/or Rob. No way WNBC keeps 4 male anchors in the afternoon/evening rotation (I think even three is too many), unless Chuck's planning on retiring soon. My guess is Kerry Barrett or Natalie Pasquarella will likely join the evening rotation as well (replacing Shiba).

Same with KYW/CBS3.
