Today's anchor line-up: Noon-Ken & Lauren 4&5-Dave & Shirleen 6-Dave solo

Today's anchor line-up: Noon-Rick solo 4pm-Brian solo 5pm-Rick solo 6pm-Rick solo 10pm-Brian solo 11pm-Brian solo Interesting they didn't have them anchor the 4 and 5 together.

Jim Donovan filled in for Ukee tonight at 5&6. Did he start yet in the mornings? I am going to restate that I don't like the move of making him an anchor. He's awful!!!
-
I guess you could put Diana/Sade at 4, with Bill/Shirleen at 5. I guess the point I was trying to get across is that they don't need to hire another anchor.
-
Maybe vacancies would've been a better word. If they were smart, I would pair Bill & Sade at 5&11, and EITHER: David & Shirleen at 6, David & Diana at 4, and Diana & Shirleen at Noon OR: David & Diana at 6, David & Shirleen at 4, and Diana & Shirleen at Noon OR: David & Shirleen at 6, Shirleen & Diana at 4, and David & Diana at Noon OR: David & Diana at 6, Diana & Shirleen at 4, and David & Shirleen at Noon Switching out Shirleen for Lori in the above scenarios is also plausible. No need to move or hire anyone else for these roles or holes.
-
If she does, I imagine WABC will fill the anchor holes with either Diana, Shirleen, or Lori.
-
Yeah, and maybe Sal can come back to doing Sports, John back to mornings with Lynne White, along with Tiffany McElroy and Craig on the early morning shift. I wonder if Mary Murphy or Jackie Hyland can anchor with Peter Thorne on the weekends too!!! Seriously guys, give it up. It doesn't look like Jim's coming back, or that Kaity is getting the 10pm back.

Can I say that as much as I love Rick & Monica as a team, I really enjoy Rick & Sarah as a team equally as much. Which brings me to ask, why isn't she used as a fill-in for Monica and Sharrie when one of those women is off? Monica and Sharrie are typically each other's fill-ins, but it'd be nice to throw Sarah into that mix.

He would've been better not speaking out. All this new information makes him sound bitter. For goodness sake, he is well into his 80s, not late 60s or 70s! He should be grateful that WBBM allowed him to stick around that long. Since when is a station obligated to keep someone on until that person is ready to go? They are the ones that pay him. Do we even know if there were any difficulties with him (reading the teleprompter, etc.)? As mentioned, it appeared that WBBM had hinted around for the past few years that that time was coming.

Anything's possible. I just don't think with current management they wil demote Tamsen to replace her with Kaity. Age and sex appeal unfortunately are more important qualities than experience nowadays.
-
Not a big fan of his. Hope he doesn't get it permanently.

Eva Pilgrim is moving over to the network: http://www.adweek.com/tvnewser/abc-news-adds-eva-pilgrim-as-correspondent/279983 Looking at my previous post, I wonder if Gray Hall is her replacement on the weekend mornings alongside Nydia Han. WPVI has a history of hiring replacements before someone retires or moves on.

Have Vai and Tracy both been anchoring the entire 4AM-7AM block now that Chris is gone? Also, it's been over a month now that Jackie has been doing the 4pm and 6pm (in addition to the 11pm) with Jim. I wonder if this means if Renee comes back that she'll be put on the 5pm. How long will they stay this course of putting her on leave?
-
Never is a long time. I could see him substituting in a few years once he has had a chance to restore his credibility. Question is whether he would want to sub.

Another good one gone ... http://www.ftvlive.com/todays-news/2015/12/14/philly-reporter-headed-to-vegas-anchor-job He would've been perfect here as weekday morning or weekend evening co-anchor. Good job CBS3, another screw up!

I doubt PIX11 is going to replace or demote Tamsen. John is definitely worthy of the main anchor gig. I am actually surprised that he left ABC News to come back to PIX11. It seemed like he was becoming a rising star there, even filling in on GMA. Perhaps if Kaity/Brenda goes well, they could do 11am news together too. I think Jay Dow is definitely in line to get the weekend gig (maybe with Narmeen Choudhury), and Dan Mannarino (Joe Cioffi weather too) if they ever expand to weekend mornings. I like Joe Mauceri on sports (maybe he can handle weekends). Not a big fan of Scott Stanford or the SportsDesk block.

Maybe it was short notice? I know Robin was on her way to Philly to interview Kobe Bryant about his decision to retire from the NBA, which was a recent announcement in the past 48 hours.
-
It seemed in the past that Amy was the main weekday backup. Glad to see them using Tom now too.
-
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!!

WPVI has hired Gray Hall. I wonder if he was hired as a reporter or anchor: http://www.adweek.com/tvspy/wpvi-adds-anchor-from-virginia/159356
-
I'm not a fan.
-
Is that a recent development? Because Phil was still doing Sunday mornings after Troy was hired and his bio still has it in there: http://abc7chicago.com/about/newsteam/phil-schwarz/
-
Tracy also does a WCL 11am update too I believe. And I think Phil does Sunday mornings?
-
There's just something about him that rubs me the wrong way (and no it's not his presumed sexual orientation). He just comes off as arrogant and an "I'm better than you" attitude. I do admit he did an okay job with Pat during the Pope visit.

Hope this one is not right ... http://www.ftvlive.com/todays-news/2015/11/18/shake-up-happening-in-philly There are plenty of capable reporters to choose from if they are looking to promote from within: Todd Quinones, Cleve Bryan, Steve Patterson, and I was going to say Matt Rivers, but he's gone!
