  1. nynewslover knew that Kala and Craig were gonna anchor the first part. He was asking what the linked article meant by a "revamped lead-in". Nothing to do with the anchor pairings!
  2. While I think Suki is okay, perhaps it is time for change there too. I will say though, that Kori seems so dry that I don't think he would have been any better with a different co-anchor. This show was in it's heyday when Craig Treadway & Tiffany McElroy anchored 5am-7am, and John Muller and Lynne White anchored 7am-9am, with Linda Church on weather, Emily Frances on entertainment, Larry Hoff on features, Jill Nicolini (and before Marysol Castro) in Air11. Once Lynne left, it was the beginning of the downward spiral. Their current graphics package sucks. The blue and orange don't really scream news, and the graphics are too bulky. Tamsen needs to go at 10. Bring in a Jackie Hyland or Cathy Hobbs or even Jodi Applegate to anchor at night if they don't want to revert to Kaity.
  3. My post was more of an answer as nynewslover's question of what was meant by a "revamped lead in"? What I was saying is the first part with the first set of anchors might be more newsy while the second part with the second set of anchors might be more fluffy.
  4. Perhaps they're going back to the old system where the first two hours (with different hosts) are more newsy while the rest is more fluffy?
  5. Some additional changes I think they should make: -scrap the sports desk show within a show. Just do straight sports. -have Kirsten Cole co-anchor with Kori on weekends, with Joe Mauceri on sports -start weekend mornings, with Jay Dow or Dan Mannarino co-anchoring with Narmeen Choudhury and Joe Cioffi on weather
  6. I still think it's a joke. Who's Twitter posted it? Link? Why wouldn't they put KTVU Plus on 2.2? Wouldn't other FOX O&Os follow suit?
  7. It seemed like a no brainer to expand to 4pm. I'm kind of surprised they didn't move Extra to 11:30am (and cut the midday news in half). I also wonder if WMAQ is getting AHLive as a replacement for Meredith.
  8. Hopefully she takes over the 9am-11am shift or part of it.
  9. Bill was solo at 6pm. I see Lori was on in the morning as well. Wonder if Ken was there too.
  10. Tracy filled in for Jackie on Monday and Tuesday at 4pm, 5pm, & 6pm alongside Jim. Interesting that they had her on at 6 being that when one's off at 6 the other usually solo anchors. She also anchored with Jim on Friday at 5pm. Thursday night she moderated a debate. Also, caught Jackie anchoring the 11pm on Tuesday (she was off on earlier newscasts) but was absent the next day. All this has me speculating whether they're testing anchor pairs out. I'd like to see Tracy return to afternoons/evenings anchoring.
  11. They were on yesterday too at noon. I don't really prefer one or the other, but there was one day this week Shirleen was on with Liz at 4, and I thought they meshed well together.
  12. Don't mean to sound insensitive, but she's been out two months. Life goes on. I can understand taking some time off, but two months?
  13. I'm pretty sure Sam Ryan (female) was lead sports anchor at WCBS for a period of time.
  14. I would think that they would continue to co-exist with the same call letters. Haven't others done similar things (WABC)?
  15. Also interested to see if Rachael Ray comes back to the daytime schedule or if Right This Minute or Millionaire make their way to WLS's airwaves.
  16. Yeah this is exactly (or similar) to what was on Vimeo last week.
  17. Your second paragraph says it all. You're not first if you're quoting someone else!!! And I believe there has been an instance where you reported something after another one of those websites reported it, but still classified it as "first".
  18. Ain't that the pot calling the kettle black. You often post things as "first on the blog" that have been posted elsewhere.
  19. They should reorganize the pairings: Noon & 5pm: Joanne Purtan & Glenda Lewis 4pm & 10pm: Curtis Jackson & Heather Catallo 6pm, 7pm, & 11pm: Stephen Clark & Carolyn Clifford And if they decide to bring in Jason Carr, put him on the morning show and send Malcom back to weekend mornings.
  20. That was the second half of last week. Jim was on yesterday. Rick was off yesterday. And Monica said Rick and Sarah are off. They usually say "Rick will be along later" if he's just off for the noon newscast.
  21. Whoa! Monica Malpass is anchoring at noon today, as Rick and Sarah are off. Matt, Alicia, Tamela, and Nydia must've been unavailable.
  22. Gotta say I'm really disappointed that the CBS Evening News was not on location either in Cuba or in Belgium. You've been mired in third place for a gazillion years, you have the most boring anchor ever, and you don't want to ever leave the studio, which is the least eye appealing of the Big Three. Shame on them! They're lucky Fox (broadcast network) has not entered the race, otherwise they'd be in fourth place!!
