Since you posted this GMA seems to be the only one that does this. CBS TM and Today all say that they are sister networks or a division of CBS Corporation or for NBC a division NBCUniversal or Comcast.

I’m at my limit for The New Yorker but they have an article titled “The Growth of Sinclair’s Conservative Media Empire”. Here’s what Kyle Griffin (an MSNBC producer that you should follow for all the news of the day) tweeted out: Edit: I copied this post from the Sinclair Broadcast Group - General Discussion to try my moderator powers and see how the copy post feature worked.

I believe with their set they switched to OverDrive but added Viz engines (VizRT even tweeted it out). WCAU is going to continue to use OverDrive and will launch with Expression graphics. Did Ross purchase Expression (or a predecessor) from someone or was this a product they developed themselves? It seems like they only been launched graphics platforms few years ago. I know Stadiums use them.

That being said when building a show a graphic could be built in the automation software.
-
No it wouldn’t. But it could affect play out of graphics and video.
-
I’m not sure if WABC transitioned yet but I noticed that the other O&Os are switching from Grass Valley Ignite automation to Ross OverDrive.

TEGNA Broadcasting and Digital General Discussion

Mum making as in flower arranging? (Making sure that it’s not something else). So glad that the news here in the morning is straight newscast aside from some the trending segment and WJZ’s Manic Monday’s.- 3735 replies

general thread NBC Sports/NBCSN/Golf Channel/NBC RSNs Thread
rkolsen replied to WCAUTVNBC10's topic in Sport Center
Contracts are locked up for years. Plus the individual athletic conferences make a lot of money by operating their own channels or using ESPN to make a channel for them. They get to keep all the revenues. The NBC RSN do show some college games here. -

I see what you mean, but the black/red color scheme is a lot easier to read than all the various color schemes and fonts before. -
Do they necessarily need someone in the Mobile Weather Lab? Surely they could scrap the segment when there’s no one available.

Isn’t this the same GM that FTVLive says is rarely seen in the office but somehow knows everything?

So far Gura hasn’t been political but I’m curious if he’ll show his opinion. Edited: since I updated to iOS 12 my keyboard has been autocorrecting and changing things like crazy.

They still may not have access to all the footage or high quality copies.

They probably don’t have a lot of the footage handy anymore. Their new facility is tapeless and I believe they donated their library to a university. It would probably be a pain to dig up stuff off site. Edit: Looks like they donated their library to UNT shortly after their move to the new facility. Infact the UNT Library was just awarded for their work in archiving the stories from KXAS through 1979.

I wouldn’t claim it’s notabe to non news viewers except for maybe being in How to Get Away with Murder or other shows in set Philadelphia. People probably think MCTYW was “theirs” and not WPVI. WGN at the time they probably had a clue was still a superstation and could have been broadcasting Jeopardy. I’m going to guess What is Paper Mache? Wow, they really oversold it. Unless the social media person was going for the old 6abc is Philly , Philly is 6abc (or was it Action News) branding (that was a brand at one point right)?o

Like if your a morning anchor at a dog station but get an offer to anchor the evening news in a top staton in a top 10 market you’d jump. Oh another example is Marianne Bannister she apparently was the midday anchor at KABC and left to head to WBAL in the 90s because the money and promotion were right.

WBAL initially had a 7-8AM Show but it was axed when they launched the 4:30 newscast. It was successful enough for them to launch the 10PM newscast. The morning show lasted 3 years, 3 months and 10 days (10/03/2011-01/12/2015). The ratings were minimal in the beginning apparently but good enough for them to launch the 10PM five months later. I think the 7AM show was axed perhaps because of contractual reasons - but that’s just a guess. Anyway there’s a neat WBAL logo style I haven’t seen before promoting Matter of Fact: And maybe slightly updated graphics package: I learned that the show is edited and put together down by HTV design. I would of thought the DC Bureau would be in charge of the program.

So this popped up on my Instagram timeline again. A journalist at WCAU saw this picture of a monkey on. One of the outside sources. Turns out it came from a switcher test video out of 30 Rock that was sent over satellite (and for some reason they received it and put it as a MW source).

A commenter on DCRTV was wondering if Cox shuttered it’s DC Bureau in advance of the sale. Can anyone in Cox markets provide insight?

Bombed badly on WEWS or in general. The numbers locally seem to do well. Praise the font gods that Bank Gothic has been removed from many of the Hearst station logos. It was good the 90s and early aughts and conveyed some sense of urgency. But like anything it gets dated. I didn’t realize how bad the font was in hindsight when I read an article about the Baltimore Ravens put up one of Michael Phelps’ medal wins after a 2008 preseason game. Versus how it it appeared on the RavensVision boards in 2016: Back to the topic at hand here’s an article about how TV consultants work. Not only do they to focus groups they analyze the Nielsen ratings to what type of story gets the most eyeballs. Isn’t SNL Kagan the big TV consulting firm. There’s also a guy whose name I can’t remember who was involved with WSVN’s branding and now has a career in consulting.

Massive trolling would be putting a Russian flag outfront.
