Thanks. I wasn’t sure.

I have a question about the TOTG station IDs. Sinclair sold off WUTBs license completely (instead of just selling the spectrum and channel sharing) and now airs on WBFF’s 45.2. I’ve noticed that their TOTH legal ID for 45.2 (MyNetwork) just says “WBFF.2 Baltimore”. Now I never seen an ID like that and am wondering if it is technically legal within FCC guidelines? I realize PSIP data now makes IDs irrelevant but I am still under the impression that it needed to be the call sign, channel number, and city of license.

They most likely have a minimum plant to transmit HD and syndicated programming. But don’t want to go through the expense to build one for news.

Better but a rip off of the Scripps logos.

WDSU. Their ex station KITV went HD within six months of the sale. Of course they just installed Sony PTZ camera’s and a Viz Opus all in one system. It’s kind of funny to think a group of relatively small size, privately owned, sitting on a huge pile of cash isn’t updating their stations to modern day technology. Not all of the equipment in the stations have to be network standard but put out good HD pictures.

I also imagine she got tired of being constantly on the road for days on end for storms when you got kids at home.

Are they trying to make Dylan a more versatile member of the team. They had her interviewing AARP CEO on the battle against dementia. She was doing the weather today as well.

You know that minister that wanted $54 million for a Falcon private jet? He’s now looking for $1.5 million to go 4K HDR world wide. Now that price seems a bit low.

I should add that it would make an incredible set. Having the option of two different ways to present from the home base (the large monitor wall) and the random assortment of monitors with what looks like they could be the newsroom. The newsroom backdrop could open or they could have a privacy screen that would be backlit with the LED glass walls. The corner soft set looks nice.

Probably not. It’s neat. But as @Weeters says whenever you see a design online before it debuts it means it didn’t get the bid.

I get where they’re coming from. But this may be another mistake in the making. For WBTS they got the ND or someone similar from WABC and now they got the AND from WPVI. Both stations are powerhouses and are licenses to print money. They’d have to severely screw up to fail at this rate. Now that’s not saying they weren’t successful or increased viewership. I imagine WNBC is doing alright as they bumped her up.

When WBAL did it it was always the male meteorologist in studio tossing to the female who’d do today’s weather and would interview some business. It stopped when I guess they went more news intensive in the AM.

Chicago Tonight reporter and host Elizabeth Brackett was admitted to the hospital last Wednesday after being hit by a car last week has passed away. She was on a ventilator and in a coma and suffered at least one fractured vertebrae. Sympathies go out to her and her family. http://www.ftvlive.com/sqsp-test/2018/6/18/chicago-reporter-dies-after-bike-accident

WTAE’s former chief meteorologist Joe DeNardo has passed away 87 per a push alert.

If that’s the case Baltimore May finally get KLG and Hoda. Chelsea Clinton was an awkward fit. She barely did a story a month and was involved in the the foundation.

Now we need to see how long it’s kept after the election.

They have a proprietary network of radars in addition to the national weather service. I’m assuming they mean KXAS’ Big S Radar and TX Thunder Truck when deployed. I know the data’s shared with the sister stations across the country.

Also Lindsay Czarniak will be in Vegas with Pat Collins for Thursday’s Stanley Cup game. According to DCRTV their new sports anchor hasn’t been seen lately.

He should be able to change it. Very rarely I’ve seen people “surrender” their accounts when leaving or starting a new job. The only issue is when you change your name where I believe you have to be re-verified. It’s a way fans will be able to connect with him and new viewers to see his past work. In a sense I wish they wouldn’t insist on branded accounts maybe generic one with news or tv at the end.

Someone over at TVForum wrote this about the deaths of WYFF’s Aaron Smeltzer and Mike McMcCormick and my response. I see what your saying. But what about BBC, ITV or Sky News covering storm? I imagine sometimes they are on a deadline working in their car.

I know networks can request stations uplink footage or perhaps cover a press conference. But can they request them to deploy their helicopter or drone for coverage? I assume they’d be reimbursed. I’m thinking of situations such as holiday weekend travel. Say your news helicopter is only up in the morning until 7AM but your in one of the areas where there are backups and the network wants live footage through out their show - maybe until 8AM. Is that reimbursable.

Also before there really wasn’t the graphics engine or monitor wall capabilities to handle such high resolutions. So you would get pixelation as well.
-
They are a lot brighter than rear projection. These are LED screens where each panel is probably 27 inches diagonal. But unlike LCD or LED backlit LCD screens these allow for seamless appearance. Before they were cost prohibitive and you could make out individual pixels and resolution sucked. Now if you shoot to close to them you can make out pixels. It’s basically the same technology stadium screens use.

Has WMAQ gotten their own Storm Ranger? This post makes it seems like they did. https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=1332537636848467 Is this what your talking about? Kind of like a reverse Diagrid 1.0 and 2.0.
