I'm curious if the news crawl will remain up during the show? Since KLG & Hoda doesn't air here does the crawl air during their show.

The "trash man" text on color bars are based on who ever programmed the camera settings. Sometimes it's a nickname of the camera op or some random name.

Miri Marshall who recently left WBAL as their weekend morning Meteorologist has moved down the road to WUSA. She will be the weekday morning Meteorologist starting next month.

There appears to be some sort of broadcast that is simulcast across ABC, CBS, Fox and NBC. It's called EIF Presents: XQ Super School Live which airs Friday September 8 at 8PM. Here's the description from their website: Sorry about the caps. I wasn't going to retype it so it was a copy paste job.

The cameraman cut color bars way to early. Wonder who the pooler was.

TEGNA Broadcasting and Digital General Discussion

What is it with Dallas and Robinsons? Apparently kxas has two branded ones. One for the morning and late afternoon/evenings - so they can take a breather? Maybe you would be better off with an R-66. Just think of the amount of money KFMB could make if they continued to charge the same rate but by operating an R-66.- 3684 replies

TEGNA Broadcasting and Digital General Discussion

It's over the top and they are definitely ripping off WSVN with "Just one station" and "the night team" slogans. While the latter is pretty common, I've only heard the former at WSVN. I kind of liked the recorded voiceovers of the director saying "roll the open" and "check the framing" - although it only really works with this type of open.- 3684 replies

While I've complained about FTVLive they do get some dirt. For instance WRTV parked their livetruck to cover a funeral of a police officer one Friday at an arena and seemingly forgot about it until the arena called them the next Wednesday.

Meant to ask this but do any other Hearts stations besides WBAL recolor the trapezoidal bug on days there are football games? WBAL recolored part of their bug so it was a purpleish blue and in the past when the Orioles were doing good in the post season they made it orange. During syndicated programming they make the turn their translucent bug to purple. Everything but the Olympic Rings is turned purple. The rings remain the regular "crystal" type translucent.

The Fox 10 News NOW is an interesting concept and has gained national and I think international attention with their mix of "raw" video. Any word if it will be like the online version? Coming from that cramped "broom cupboard" (as the BBC folks say) or the news studio.

Wow, best of luck to him.

Dick Albert, a former WCVB meteorologist, has died at 73 due to complications of pneumonia. Dick work for WCVB for 31 years - starting in 1978 and retiring in 2009. My condolences go out to his wife, two sons, friends and family.

Cough, WJZ, cough.

WTVJ's Adam Kuperstein whose an afternoon (and previously 11PM anchor) and sportscaster is moving to the mothership to anchor weekend evening on WNBC. http://www.tvnewscheck.com/article/106069/wnbc-names-kuperstein-weekend-evening-anchor

Seems like they changed it just to change it for changes sake and it doesn't always mean progress. I don't like the rectangular boxes in the open and elsewhere in the package - it seems mismatched. One thing I liked was how they handled a pull quote. I forgot the story already but on the left most side of the screen was the full statement (legible but not designed to be read) while the pull quote took up the rest. Everything has been an evolution of the first package when the show launched. For some reason they are die hard on the slant at the end. I think the change would look a lot better if they just made it a box and centered it on screen. Or maybe to be unique center it but make the right side's border a semicircle so the translucent CBS eye remains.

WMAR posted this on Instagram. Apparently their new show is titled "Midday Maryland" and is using a virtual set. I hope it's not one of the crappy ones some of the Journal stations got. Edit: The images disappeared as I posted this. Basically the images showed a corner hard green cyc being installed. Another showed two workers installing it. One with three ugly chairs on set. Finally a old tripod with a PTZ camera on it with a TelePrompTer underneath. https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=10154778163772227 https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=10154778163772227 https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=10154778163767227 https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=10154778163717227

That looks good. I imagine it's not boxed because WBBM is only adding the two. The only network branding WJZ does is covering up the CBS Network logo with a full color version of theirs during special reports.

He's good reporter. Maybe he was pulled from the dayside lineup because he got a bit political or he needed time off. But I'm betting as they rebranded the dayside as NBC News wise they wanted a clean slate - aside from Andrea.
If this is anything like it, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IRAiwhY4B0c I definitely understand where you are coming from. Not a big fan of it, seems a little over the top. The continuous branding behind him reminds me of Hardball. A NewscastStudio article says it's in 3A, which is weird because Nightly is going on during that time.
It's in [s]3C[/s] 4E. You can see the newsroom when he's talking to the guest. Edit: Thanks @LivefromNewYork for pointing out my mistake.

Trouble editing the last post. But Lacee Griffith has moved from weekend morning anchor to becoming their traffic reporter.

Dangerous in the fact that it is at ground level looking into the street. There were many many videos and images of people acting like assholes at that camera. Is it used in the studio or is this a "beauty cam".
-
Posting this here since it's not related to the old set. But what is this camera for? Seems like it would be dangerous if this were used on air. From other images (of morons acting silly) it doesn't look like a pro camera. Also this space would make an interesting temp set: Edit: I'm going through Instagram to get a lay of their studio. But what was this for?
