I mentioned this in the shoutbox curious as to what would cause a video to appear to update from top to bottom rather than every other line. I saw this while looking at the NASA pool feed on MSNBC of the SpaceX launch. Beginning at around :45 seconds in the video below as the camera pans to the right I noticed some distortion of the vehicle assembly building as starts to move out of the frame. The movement isn't fluid and as I mentioned the video was updating from the top down. Focus on the right side of the building and the logo.

Maybe crewing issues? The Live With Kelly studio uses regular camera operators and unless the cameras cannot be routed to the WABC control room they may need more technical staff as they're normally automated.

I'm watching their broadcast stream and are they only using one camera in the newsroom?

Wow, so it sounds like KCRA has the only helicopter for the market and the other two rely on the San Francisco ones. Is this the correct assumption? I was watching CNN and some aerial footage was attributed to KXTV/KOVR so I thought they shared one. I saw the KCRA feed was on KNTV - are they still sharing one with the rest of the San Francisco stations?

I wonder why Australia seems to be the one country that airs US Morning newscasts. First Today on Seven, GMA on Nine and CBS This Morning on Ten.

They lease the land from Rutgers but part of the deal is that Rutgers students get access to the data and are able to use it for the university newscasts. Part of the reason Rutgers was selected was because of its meteorology program and proximity to Manhattan.

Is there a possibility that the truck is still used by KGTV? It may not be of use for news gathering but could handle outside production needs.
