George Stephanopoulos was also the White House Communications Director and later Senior Advisor for Policy & Strategy under Bill Clinton's presidency.

I can't help but wonder how they'll handle the Comcast complaints.
-
If did go out on air.

Looks like it. Especially a shame because of the Preakness. But it always is interesting watching WBAL's pre show with their reporters out in the infield get wet - of course the anchors are sitting in a tent that has air conditioning. People still will come out and party - especially if they paid $105 for a mug that provides unlimited beer and "adult activities".

WMAR has an emoji forecast. God I hope this made it on air: Well, it was posted to their website as a static image. But arent some of these images auto uploaded without user intervention?

Veronica Johnson has quietly left WRC this past Friday with no mention on air or online. Her profile has been scrubbed from the NBC Washington website and social media pages. She's posted two forecasts on her Facebook page. Her Twitter username is still VJohnsonNBC4 but her bio is changed and hasn't been updated since last Friday 13 May. One or two people on DCRTV are guessing she's going to another station given the lack of on air farewell.

Seems to me that NBC is going to keep both of their channels alive in Dallas. The station bought a pair of UHF transmitters to get them through the repack and ATSC 3.0 transition. I bring this up because somewhere there was mentioned that NBCU was looking at their options in the incentive auction. If they were going to elect to change bands or sell one station and share a channel they probably wouldn't be buying two new transmitters.

I don't know how much news could be made - they had two hours to cover NBC, Telemundo and their ten cable networks. The Hollywood Reporter made a brief mention saying their number one in the morning, evening and weekends when it comes to news. Here's a few links covering the upfront but they seemed to be entertainment focused. http://www.latimes.com/entertainment/tv/la-et-st-nbcuniversal-upfront-jimmy-fallon-hamilton-highlights-20160516-snap-story.html http://variety.com/2016/tv/news/2016-nbc-universal-upfront-live-programming-seth-meyers-donald-trump-1201776054/ http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/nbcuniversal-upfront-presentation-2016-894471

GiGi Barnett signed off yesterday after 14 years at WJZ. The station said she's heading to Texas - I couldn't watch the video of her farewell.

I wouldn't call it augmented reality. It seems like they just keyed the graphics overtop the static camera position. Also, it's a sad gimmick.

Out of curiousity what percentage of Access Hollywood's stations are affiliated with NBC (or a sister station)? I'm wondering how it will work out with having NBC News talent appear on a syndicated show that airs on CBS or ABC. I guess it shouldn't be a big deal given Michael Strahan appearing on GMA while still on Live but then again Live is mainly on ABC affiliates with a handful of others.

The BBC's Rupert Wingfield Hayes and his team were expelled from North Korea after an eight hour interrogation. Reportedly North Korea and his minders were upset about a piece he did at a children's hospital with several Nobel laureates, who were conducting research, that said that none of the children appeared sick and that the doctors / staff knew nothing. BBC reporter detained in North Korea and expelled http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-36244994

They could if she wanted to maintain her job and a certain lifestyle.

Comcast is good to us. Rare outages - if they happen they're in the middle of the night and any issues are resolved quickly. I got a number of the regional QA guy and when I got the wrong CableCard (I needed the M-Card) at their store I called the man up and they sent their best guy out a day later. I will say I did get the number after getting HD boxes and my firs HD TiVo in 2007 and 2008, respectively. The first TiVo was a nightmare to get installed and at the time I was still underage so my parents sent a BCC email to about twenty people in the Comcast board and higher up management. I believe we got a call from one of the Roberts, four free on demand passes, and two or three tins of gourmet popcorn from a place in Philadelphia.

WRC/NBC Washington is launching 4 Respondes where you call a hotline, leave a message or speak with someone and they'll do their best to get answers for you. Seems to be model on the Telemundo Respondes initiative. The b-roll video they showed a large call center with NBC Consumer Investigative Center with their consumer anchor sitting at a desk with a crappy NBC 4 logo as the desktop. If I had to guess the calls go to some national call center (the b-roll showed what looked like new office) that was set up to handle these issues. I wonder how they'll handle Comcast problems? http://www.nbcwashington.com/investigations/NBC4-Responds-377669201.html Edit: Same exact offices at WNBC. http://www.nbcnewyork.com/on-air/as-seen-on/Better-Get-Baquero-launches-a-Consumer-Investigative-Center_New-York-368883891.html

Thanks. I can comprehend what's said to some extent but not confident enough to write/speak in Spanish. I'm out of practice - haven't had to speak in Spanish for six years.

Maybe they'd have her do the west coast updates?

Anyone know what's happening on Telemundo for June 17, 2017? There's this countdown clock in the video:

David Shuster who was indefinitely suspended from MSNBC in April 2010* for taping pilot episodes for CNN appeared for a block on Morning Joe today. I believe he was solely brought on because she he's a native of Indianna to discuss legendary basketball coach Bob Knight's endorsement of Donald Trump. I wonder if MSNBC and Shuster are warming up again with CurrentTV / Al Jazeera America being gone. I only make this comment because there has to be tons of people they could of talked to about the endorsement but they chose to bring on an anchor who left the network in unfavorable circumstances for a fifteen minute conversation. Hell when Chris Licht (former EP/ co-creator of Morning Joe) accompaniend Gayle King and Charlie Rose as CBS This Morning EP to Late Night with Seth Meyers he was placed on a list of names that require Phil Griffins permission to get into 30 Rock. *I don't know when he officially left the network but he started subbing in for Keith Olberman for Countdown at CurrentTV in June 2011.

WBOC got a new helicopter in the past month an R44 Newscopter. They nicknamed it Chomper 16 because of the the teeth painted onto its hull. It's an HD bird replacing their Bell 206. http://www.delmarvalife.com/delmarvalife/wboc-big-secret-reveal-thats-going-to-blow-you-away/ https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=10154072505169539

A group would not sell off their biggest stations which bring in the most money. There's a reason why when NBC put WTVJ and WVIT on the market (and obviously off) and not any of their Top 10.- 3735 replies

The layoffs are a drop in the bucket. I'm guessing they'll make a decent dent if they sell their duopoly channels in the spectrum auction.- 3735 replies
