  1. Not necessarily. That's their last as an ABC affiliate. They're still gonna run ABC's overnight programming until Independence kicks off at 4:30 a.m.
  2. Its not official until its promo time.
  3. Add Victor Oquendo to the list as well. https://www.instagram.com/reel/DM5WFqYsmGb/?igsh=MW9rbnl2b3lzYWZybg==
  4. Who says the News at 9:00 can't have some fun every now and then?
  5. I know, I'm aware, but hey, hope... hope that maybe the FCC would force divestures like this. I'm not saying it would happen, but hey, just hope that it does.
  6. My takeaways from your analysis... It sounds like WDRB's news department will be a goner. That stinks, especially for folks like Candyce Clift, Valerie Chinn, Scott Reynolds (going back to his old home, if it happens), Marc Weinberg, and others. WLKY is #1? With WDRB, WAVE, and WHAS in that order behind 'LKY? I mean, its great analysis from you, but man. I hope this is one of those few times where Gray divests WDRB just to keep a fourth news department operational in the market (not counting SN1 KY, of course).
  7. Its about time WQAD is getting a new set. It probably dates back to their ownership of either Local TV, LLC or The NY Times ownership but now a new set is finally coming for them. They'll be doing their news at the 4pm set until its complete. https://www.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1132351502040457&id=100057968533814
  8. 20 years at WHO Des Moines was enough for Jannay Towne. The longtime anchor is leaving the station, though not sure when will be her last day. https://www.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=698667833173025&id=1168489295085924
  9. You expect anything less from this legendary morning news program? If you can get Dan and Robin to laugh, then you've made it as a comedian, IMHO.
  10. This means, more than likely, that WDRB's news department will be shut down in favor of keeping WAVE's. That's if these waivers are allowed and the rules are changed.
  11. A new movie-focused diginet quietly went live as of today. Backed by Lionsgate, introducing MovieSphere Gold. TelevisaUnivision is the charter group for the bulk of the new affiliates, including my Miami station WLTV-DT 23.4. https://moviespheregold.com/
  12. Yes, Mega TV is still on the air. HQ is still there along the Palmetto (SR 826 in Doral).
  13. I wish someone can post screenshots of the differences between the packages on WBBH/WZVN and the one WCVB debuted today (outside of the L3's and time/temp bug). I'm curious what makes WCVB's version the one that everyone else will use but WBBH/WZVN's version will stay within them.
  14. United Kingdom (using a clock because 1... the Big Ben, and 2... the historic News at Ten on ITV. The flag emojis aren't available on the forum or Windows laptops, but I can get flag emojis via my Samsung Galaxy phone, so that's why you're seeing different emojis at times from me for the same countries). After an 8-year breakup, the BBC and the Met Office are coming back together again. https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/crm4z8mple3o
  15. This took place in May but I'm only starting to find about it now. WJAN, long known as America TeVe in my home market of Miami, is still on the air but all live and originated content is on pause thanks to a court order resulting from a shareholders dispute. Its messy so long story short, it is currently airing pre-recorded content and reruns of their programs to keep the station's license on the air. Their sister radio station, 1260 WSUA (which I don't believe is even owned by them, yet, somehow has control of it) is unaffected and their programming remains as normal. The website is still posting as normal too, which is making me think its still going with WSUA and not WJAN. I just checked and instead of the 10pm news and El Espejo (news, debate, and analysis), it will instead air the comedic and talk program La Mesa Nostra instead, meaning that live weekday news at 4, 7, and 10pm are all cancelled. The Hialeah Gardens facilities (I'm literary five minutes away from the site by drive) are shuttered and now a sign is displayed that says another company has taken over, shut it down, and let all WJAN employees go. I won't go into more details because I'm still learning about it and trying to process it but its shocking and surprising that it was very abrupt. Hell, its almost three months since this happened and only now I'm learning about it. https://en.cibercuba.com/noticias/2025-05-09-u1-e43231-s27061-nid302435-desalojo-despidos-america-teve-canal-41-miami-cierra https://www.cubaenmiami.com/en/america-teve-pone-pausa-a-sus-transmisiones-en-vivo-y-despide-empleados-tras-orden-judicial/
  16. I'm taking this from a user on RadioDiscussions, so take it with a grain of salt, but here it is, word for word... If this is true, Nexstar gains another CW O&O (in a major market nonetheless), WMYT receives a genuine network affiliation, and WCCB will become an Independent station after 12 years with The CW, and for the first time since 1986.
  17. I'm disappointed. New set, same music, same 2008 HD-made graphics.
  18. KSWO has expanded their weekday morning news to start at 4:30am. However, its NOT Good Morning Texoma. Instead, its a newscast focused on... the military. A half-hour of local, national, and international military news called Good Morning Fort Sill airs from 4:30-5am. The name is based off the Army base Fort Sill in Lawton, Oklahoma. https://www.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=122153727062763865&id=61572915966739
  19. This all confirms to me that GMA First Look will be the LAST ABC program on WPLG at 4am and the FIRST ABC program on the new ABC Miami at 4:30am. https://wsvn.com/entertainment/a-new-era-abc-miami-debuts-on-aug-4-on-channels-7-2-and-18/?FBWSVN&fbclid=IwY2xjawLxFjxleHRuA2FlbQIxMQABHnbhHq0hdNF9eXK91DkilKcWMQPDYdJ-A38QlQkVhXBekUWHnxgJxa31wYrU_aem__ItMrJ45l-FQrChHZWQ-5g
  20. Canada A small blast of MuchMusic's past is back. On YouTube, they bring you... Much Rewind. Complete with the old world logo and all. https://youtube.com/@muchrewind?si=kS-02t0Dc6jVJNp3
  21. Three departures to note... Today was WVLT's Chief Meteorologist Heather Haley's last day after 17 years. She's off to join the Univ. of Tennessee, her alma mater, to be an associate professor in journalism but will remain on the air as she'll do weather too for 91.9 WUOT. https://www.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=731756496258348&id=1165737145583115 https://cci.utk.edu/blog/2025/06/09/emmy-award-winning-chief-meteorologist-heather-haley-to-join-cci-and-wuot-in-fall-2025/ Today was also Michal Higdon's last day at WCSC after 10 years. The UF grad (Go Gators!!! ) will join WVTM Birmingham as their new evening Breaking News anchor. Plus, she'll be closer to family. https://www.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1275691704177146&id=100052089851415 Finally, I've mentioned it before but today was the day. KYTV's Lisa Rose after a stellar 41-year run there. She just finished her last newscast but a special half-hour on her career is airing as we speak. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.ky3.com/2025/07/24/celebrating-lisa-rose-why-lisa-decided-retire/%3foutputType=amp
  22. Any update on this? I'm not seeing much of anything online regarding this.
  23. I believe the correspondents on this program wanted her to be the EP. Well... they got their wish. Tanya Simon is the first woman to hold the role in the distinguished program's history. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/tanya-simon-executive-producer-60-minutes/
  24. I did not know where to put this on the forum. It is a broadcasting-related thing but has nothing to do with TV news... its Music Choice. Available on major cable providers such as Comcast, Charter (soon-to-be Cox), and others, its still one of the most popular digital audio services on cable TV today, though in the past few years, it has gained major competition from Stingray (which is available in more places on some of their channels, such as Samsung TV Plus and Plex, for example. At one point, this used to be CBC Canada's Galaxie. That's wild to think about). Coming August 26th, a HUGE exodus of changes will be taking place on their lineup. It will remain a 50-channel lineup on cable TV, but the TL;DR version is this... Ten channels (including Hit List) will be renamed. Ten NEW channels will be added. Ten current channels will be removed from cable TV and are moving exclusively to their streaming TV/mobile apps (I have it and only pay $1 a month for it which gives me access to 80 extra channels). https://www.musicchoice.com/channelupdates

  25. We don't have the new schedules for WANF and WPCH just yet, especially with how newscasts will look. However, we do know of two new programs coming late August as it gets its independence going. Both will be sports-related, especially College Football-related: ANF Gametime and ANF Overtime. They'll rely on help from former UGA QB Jake Fromm for analysis with sports director Baillie Burmaster. It begins on Saturday, August 30th, nearly two weeks after WANF goes Indie. https://www.atlantanewsfirst.com/2025/07/25/atlanta-news-first-launches-new-college-football-pre-post-game-shows-featuring-former-uga-star-jake-fromm/
