I just noticed something... Gray is only picking up stations in the Midwest or South. NO stations in the west. This means KDRV, KEZI, and KHSL/KNVN won't be sold, though I'm puzzled as to why not them. Gray isn't in any of those markets.

Stations like KDRV, KEZI, and KHSL/KNVN may be wondering to themselves as to why not them.

We don't know which ones yet, and if this will even go through, but if so, there's lots of conflicts there will have to be squashed over (unless this FCC will just let it through). I can think of the Wisconsin stations as such an example.

Rob Haswell is leaving Real Milwaukee but is NOT leaving WITI. After all, he's got the Wake Up News, the Wisconsin Weather Experts on FOX 6 Local, and other things he's doing for the station. https://www.bizjournals.com/milwaukee/news/2025/08/05/rob-haswell-leaves-real-milwaukee-stays-with-fox-6.html?csrc=6398&link_source=ta_first_comment&taid=68921c8577f5ba0001143af7&utm_campaign=trueAnthemTrendingContent&utm_medium=social&utm_source=facebook&fbclid=IwY2xjawMCpd1leHRuA2FlbQIxMQABHun0lS-q8Oq8e4iNER3fy2by-2PZPhUgPKo0wf91jLcrAF2h0wJDs3HYc_Wk_aem_PEz63BAGJH1vMsM_UdinQg

This is a big deal in San Antonio television. Steve Spriester, a longtime fixture at KSAT 12 for 30 years, is leaving but not retiring, instead joining a legal advocacy firm. His last day is August 27th. Steve undoubtedly deserves to be in the Mount Rushmore of San Antonio television with the likes of Randy Beamer (ex-WOAI) and Chris Marrou (ex-KENS). https://www.ksat.com/news/local/2025/08/07/ksat12-news-anchor-steve-spriester-to-step-down-from-local-media-ending-30-year-career-at-san-antonio-station/

As long as it remains a simulcast in terms of news, there's no way that would happen.

GMA Miami Tour: Day 3. This time, its Lynn Martinez and Joe Roetz (the weeknight B-team) joining in on the fun. (Off-topic: NBC Nightly News is also in Miami this week so Miami, my backyard, is in the national spotlight for sure).

KTVQ Billings has announced that Hailey Monaco is their new morning anchor. That line alone is not necessarily newsworthy around here. However, this time is different because Hailey's director inside the control room during the morning newscast is the one who launched the show and knows her personally... 39-year KTVQ veteran and more importantly, her father: Rob Monaco. https://www.ktvq.com/news/local-news/new-anchor-joins-montana-this-morning-and-shes-keeping-it-in-the-family

It looks like WCCB will keep local programming and local news after giving up The CW, if this is any indication... A new weekly sports-themed show after Saturday's 10pm news on WCCB Charlotte (which also seems to be their new branding starting Sept. 1st). https://www.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1181517557327932&id=100064090953536

The Ever-Evolving Gray Graphics Situation...Thread
TheRolyPoly replied to NEOMatrix's topic in Graphics
WXIX just refreshed their 24/7 streaming weather channel to include GrayONE graphics. These graphics are not over the air just yet in their newscasts, but it could be a tease that WXIX could be one of the next stations to receive the GrayONE look overall. Stay tuned. -
When you get something like this, you know its official. Dylan Federico has joined my station, WSVN 7, as its newest meteorologist. As far as I'm aware, nobody is leaving the Weather side, meaning that the team, led by Chief Meteorologist Phil Ferro, who celebrates 20 years this year as WSVN's Chief, now has SIX meteorologists on board. For comparison, WFOR has five, WTVJ also has six (I don't count the WSCV mets for this purpose, and yes, John Morales counts even if he's only their hurricane specialist), and the new Indie WPLG has, get this... 8 (that also includes their hurricane specialist, Michael Lowry). It makes sense to have a lot of meteorologists in this hurricane-prone market. https://www.facebook.com/DylanFedericoWx/posts/pfbid02jm7aK5RzfyZkVAqhiVJmnhWo22NJchpWEzJ1HmGcDSvnb3jDyvnfFLyvFKpTgtdzl

You remember him from either WTVG Toledo or WABC-TV New York. But for almost 10 years, he went and is still home in Northeast Ohio. WEWS' Rob Powers is now elite in his home state. He gets into the Ohio A.P. Hall of Fame. For one of the best anchors in the country, very well deserved. https://www.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1235536765285356&id=100064871315060

Yes it was! Hahaha. It became the last one on WPLG and the first one on WSVN.2/WDFL.

No surprise... ABC Miami is getting the star treatment from GMA. Sam Champion is in Miami all week for the program and Victor Oquendo gives Craig and Belkys some national exposure. https://www.instagram.com/reel/DM7x41zvc0W/?igsh=d2NnY3R5cjFrMzFx

Daaammmmnnnn. Wow. Putting WPXM there instead of WPLG? That makes no sense.
-
The switch is now official. WPLG is now an Independent station, and WDFL 18.1/WSVN 07.2 is now ABC Miami. No grand sendoff to ABC from WPLG. GMA First Look straight to the expanded Local 10 Morning News. Today promises to be an interesting and historic day in my market.
-
Ironically enough, the first program on ABC Miami is... GMA First Look at 4:30am.
-
Not necessarily. That's their last as an ABC affiliate. They're still gonna run ABC's overnight programming until Independence kicks off at 4:30 a.m.
