You beat me to it! I was gonna post this. But in terms of this, it could get ugly and fast.

We have another retirement coming up. Wednesday, October 15th, will be the last for WEEK's Chief Meteorologist Chuck Collins after 50 years in broadcasting, 23 of them at WMBD, and the last 16 of them at WEEK. https://www.25newsnow.com/2025/08/13/week-tv-chief-meteorologist-chuck-collins-announces-retirement/

Another post to mention... Sounds like KDKA has quietly canceled the 8pm news on sister WPKD and replaced it with a repeat of KDKA's 6pm news. https://www.triblive.com/aande/movies-tv/tv-talk-more-change-at-kdka-tv-news-director-exits-with-promotion/

Here's the web article. This will be a HUGE loss for WCAU. Tracy has been a real cornerstone for the station through the many changes, via anchors and otherwise. Jacqueline London (who I still remember from WKMG-TV Orlando very very well) hinted as saying November, so more likely before Thanksgiving that she'll be gone from WCAU. https://www.nbcphiladelphia.com/news/local/tracy-davidson-leaving-nbc10-philadelphia/4253667/

I read on RadioDiscussions that it seems like Cumulus is turning its sports radio stations in Alabama into a statewide network modeled after flagship 94.5 WJOX-FM Birmingham. 100.5 WJQX is now JOX Tuscaloosa. 730 WUMP in Huntsville is now JOX Huntsville. 660 WXQW in Mobile is now JOX Mobile. 740 WMSP in Montgomery is now JOX Montgomery. It sounds like 690 WJOX will remain the same, which is currently 24/7 ESPN Radio.

What happens when you combine a former local news anchor (Jim Rosenfield) with a former CNN anchor (Alisyn Camerota) and an anchor with news and sports experience (Dave Briggs)? A new streaming show, Connecting America, is on USA Today's streaming channels. https://www.gannett.com/pr/gannett-debuts-connecting-america-on-usa-today-streaming-channels/

I find it hard to believe that KIMT was #1 back in May considering the owners and cutbacks, but they've released this promo touting it as such:

James Spann To Start Own Weather Network
TheRolyPoly replied to MichiganNewsGraphicsJunkie's topic in The Weather Lab
It was cool to see how the network looks, and it won't be a success... it'll be a massive success. Also, I'm seeing via FB posts that 1° Outside, the New England-based weather service created and run by the husband and wife meteorology duo of Matt and Danielle Noyes (loved them for years), has launched their own 24/7 streaming network of their own but its hidden for Patreon folks for now. It's a sign of the times, and I know that more networks like these are coming... -
With just days to go before their Independence Day, WANF has finally posted their plans, telling you what I've already told you but there's some new wrinkles in there. TL;DR Sounds like ATL Live will be two hours, both new, one at 10am and another at 1pm. On The Record is their new politics show on Sundays at 11am. WANF will even have a 7pm newscast on Saturdays. Uncovered: ANF Investigates, the local Investigate TV+ weekly version (let's be honest here), will air Sundays at 7pm. Atlanta Eats moves from WPCH to WANF on Saturdays at 8pm. One-on-One with Monica Pearson moves from WPCH to WANF on Sundays at 8pm. WANF will even have weekend news at 9pm on top of the 10 and 11pm news I've already mentioned in previous posts. https://www.atlantanewsfirst.com/2025/08/12/anf-unveils-new-programming-with-expanded-local-news-political-show-investigations/?fbclid=IwY2xjawMJwGpleHRuA2FlbQIxMQABHizTHCSEcDM7l_7iudkrV7MzraI7A8bTrZIijDJMHzADUNVIN1vsnFWgA-GS_aem_9zQ3US4YRDdB2BfyNUAoRw

This is boring. Nexstar's Q2 Earnings. But there's a reason why I'm posting this: Yep. The CW is on the move in Erie as well. We just don't know yet if it will be on WJET 24.2 or WFXP 66.2. https://acrobat.adobe.com/id/urn:aaid:sc:US:fbfe1fd7-bd8e-4e22-8624-a88fbc4a0104

Zeam is about to get a whole lot bigger. Sinclair has sold NewsON to the Gray and Morgan Murphy-backed streamer. https://variety.com/2025/tv/news/zeam-acquires-newson-local-tv-streaming-sinclair-1236487505/

I don't know where else to put it so it goes here... KHON's Joe Moore, his son Bryce (also working at KHON), and... Pat Sajak. All together for one final play as it wraps up a 24-year run.

After a 15-year run, Brooke Moore has ended her time at WDTN Dayton. https://www.wdtn.com/news/after-15-years-brooke-moore-stepping-away-from-2-news/?fbclid=IwY2xjawMHTshleHRuA2FlbQIxMQABHkKX5-aBMM00V-wB0zTcTp_YbZLeQ8-6WXTgcU3hr_yz2H8LX5TTMc-4kZii_aem_pKYTFo0-RspZLCIpBfc1xg

Sinclair Broadcast Group - General Discussion
TheRolyPoly replied to Smitha A's topic in Corporate Chat
WHAT?!?! Not the best time to hear this, really. https://www.cnbc.com/2025/08/11/sinclair-is-exploring-mergers-for-its-broadcast-business.html?fbclid=IwY2xjawMHTHdleHRuA2FlbQIxMQABHqdLT0itRnuK0D7fCfwmHTQ_W5GWdwpUooxAxZArzhojzbdmXQFj2gXgHhKr_aem_jc5iWAQVRu0WMxp-8PHuGA -
Disregard. Posted it in the wrong thread.

And, apparently, on Spectrum systems too, under the name Local Look Today (which I looked up the schedule via Zap2it via Gracenote... most of the time is LNL but part of it is also... sports. Yep).

Finally, what y'all have been waiting for and curious to see, just like me... the weekday schedule for WANF and it is about to pump out a WHOLE LOT more news. Yes, its OnTVTonight again as my resource for this. Monday, August 18th, WANF's first full day of a news-heavy independent schedule: 04:00-07:00 AM: ANF Early Edition (they're expanding to 4am to compete against WSB) 07:00-10:00 AM: ANF A.M. LIVE (the 9am goes back to an hour) 10:00-11:00 AM: ATL LIVE (new timeslot and expands to an hour) 11:00-11:30 AM: Inside Edition (the new episode will remain on WPCH) 11:30AM-12:00PM: Investigate TV+ 12:00-01:00 PM: ANF News LIVE at 12 Noon (expands to an hour now that it doesn't have to worry about CBS Daytime anymore) 01:00-02:00 PM: ATL LIVE (repeat) 02:00-03:00 PM: Local News LIVE 03:00-04:00 PM: ANF News LIVE at 3:00 (going back to an hour on WANF proper though its been that way on WPCH for quite some time now ever since Investigate TV+ premiered on syndie) 04:00-06:30 PM: ANF News LIVE 06:30-07:00 PM: ANF First Alert Weather Extra (yep, they're getting their own 30-minute all-weather program just like a handful of other Gray sisters out there, i.e. KCTV and WBRC) 07:00-07:30 PM: ANF News LIVE at 7:00 07:30-09:00 PM: The Big Bang Theory (x3) 09:00-10:00 PM: ANF News LIVE at 9:00 (the primetime newscast it once had, for WPCH, is back and on WANF proper) 10:00-11:30 PM: ANF News LIVE (no word if WPCH will continue to simulcast WANF's 6-9am, noon, 3, and 10pm newscasts) 11:30PM-12:00AM: ANF Sports Overtime (new to WANF proper but just like what KTVK/KPHO is doing with The Extra Point plus WANF has done this on streaming for some time too) 12:00-12:30 AM: Young Sheldon 12:30-01:00 AM: The Conners 01:00-01:30 AM: ANF News LIVE at 11:00 (repeat) 01:30-02:00 AM: ANF Sports Overtime (repeat) 02:00-03:00 AM: Georgia High School Sports Daily (from PSN: Peachtree Sports Network) 03:00-04:00 AM: Law and Order: SVU

Another day, according to OnTVTonight. It looks like WANF will have weekend news from 8-10am, 5-7pm, and 10-11:30pm. Obviously, it may be different depending on when the weekend after that may look like, but right now, this is what it has. Sunday, August 17th: 07:00-08:00 AM: Local News Live Sunday 08:00-10:00 AM: ANF News LIVE Weekend 10:00-10:30 AM: Inside Edition Weekend 10:30-11:00 AM: Positively America 11:00-11:30 AM: On The Record 11:30AM-12:00PM: Paid Program 12:00-12:30 PM: Investigate TV+ Weekend 12:30-01:30 PM: Opry 01:30-02:00 PM: The Song 02:00-03:00 PM: Paid Programming 03:00-05:00 PM: To Be Announced 05:00-07:00 PM: ANF News LIVE (this means Atlanta will have their very first weekend newscast at 5:00pm). 07:00-08:00 PM: Uncovered: ANF Investigates (x2) 08:00-08:30 PM: Investigate TV+ Weekend (repeat) 08:30-10:30 PM: WNBA - Atlanta Dream (ANF is the local flagship for it, thanks to PSN) at Golden State Valkyries 10:30-11:30 PM: ANF News LIVE 11:30PM-12:00AM: Paid Program 12:00-01:00 AM: Uncovered: ANF Investigates (x2; repeat) So as you can see, a little mix of everything from news to music to investigations to even live sports on this particular night. I'm excited to see what Monday's schedule looks like, which will give us an indication as to how much more weekday news WANF will be producing.
-
It seems like OnTVTonight has finally given us a first glimpse into what that will be like. Granted, its only next Saturday that's available for now but still... something. 07:00-08:00 AM: Local News Live Saturday 08:00-10:00 AM: ANF News LIVE Weekend 10:00AM-10:00PM: High School Football (Four matches back-to-back-to-back-to-back; they've done this for years though, mainly on WPCH, so no surprise here) 10:00-11:30 PM: ANF News LIVE 11:30PM-12:00AM: Investigate TV+ Weekend

Its one thing to be a legendary radio station. Its another thing to actually be recognized as such and enshrined in state history. 94.7 KSHE will soon be enshrined by Missouri State Law as Missouri's Rock Station. The legislation, HCS SCS SB 348, was approved back on June 24th and will take effect on August 28th. https://www.kshe95.com/real-rock-news/kshe-95-is-now-the-official-rock-radio-station-of-missouri/

Technically, it would be a triopoly in these two markets. Don't forget WTHV Telemundo Huntsville and WBXM Telemundo Montgomery.
