KWQC is partially changing their weekday daytime lineup starting next month. Kelly Clarkson at 2pm is out and Local News Live at 1pm is in. https://www.kwqc.com/2025/08/20/kwqc-change-weekday-programming/?fbclid=IwY2xjawMUOOdleHRuA2FlbQIxMQABHvoATzfObbiOpUsHCGoMEWR2Pu6iiqdiUIOkKT8BudaznC0fRAZzzvF-UtPq_aem_JCp7OdcVIwz1-5XoQPuf8Q

Update According to Zap2it... WJET 24.2 on September 1st. The transition happens at 6am.

I'd say hire two more. You have Lee, Brittany, Dani, and Jeff, but they seem to struggle on some days to rely on only one person to do everything on any particular day. I feel like having two more would be beneficial and help relieve some stress, especially in the #1 market.

KCTV's tower will soon be lighting up Kansas City's skyline once more... for the first time in 21 years. https://www.kctv5.com/2025/08/20/kctv5-broadcast-tower-shine-once-again-with-relighting-ahead-2026-world-cup/

If you've seen any opens regarding WANF lately, you may not have seen Shon Gables in any of them. That's because she's taken a leave of absence for personal reasons and has been off their airwaves since February. Today, it became official. She's not going back. https://www.ajc.com/arts-entertainment/2025/08/shon-gables-officially-leaves-atlanta-news-first-after-seven-years/

You are right. It is bonkers. For the record... Sun Broadcasting owns: 92.5 WFSX-FM (92.5 Right All Along) 93.7 WHEL (93.7 Trump Country) 94.1 W231DC/103.3 W277AP/105.9 W290DB (FOX Sports SWFL) 94.5 WARO (94.5 The Arrow) 98.5 WFFY (Fly 98.5) WXCW Channel 46 (The CW; WINK CW) 46.2 - Estrella TV WUVF-LD Channel 2/WLZE Channel 51 (Univision Southwest Florida) 2.2/51.2 - UniMas (UniMas Southwest Florida) WANA-LD Channel 16 (I don't know what they air today, ever since Azteca shut down) Sun wants to own the following from Beasley: 96.1 WRKX (96 K-Rock) 96.5 W243BM/101.5 W268AH/105.1 W286AK (Podcast Radio) 103.9 WXKB (B103.9) FMBC owns: 95.7 W239CL/97.3 W247CR (Maxima 95.7/97.3) 96.9 WINK-FM (96.9 WINK-FM) 97.7 WTLQ (97.7 Latino) 101.1 WAVV (Wave 101.1) 107.9 W300EF (La Raza 107.9) WINK-TV Channel 11 (CBS; WINK) 11.2 - MNT/Antenna TV FMBC wants to own the following from Beasley: 770 WBCN/98.1 W251AL/104.3 W282BY (ESPN Southwest Florida) 99.3 WWCN (Playa 99.3) 106.3 WJPT (Sunny 106.3) I have to do it in a list because it would've been confusing otherwise, and its to put things into perspective. So, to put this for the record, that's two full-power TV stations, two low-power stations, six networks in all (CBS, CW, Univision, UniMas, Estrella, and MNT even though I know its not a "network" now these days), 12 full-power radio stations (one AM, eleven FM), and 11 radio translators (all on FM), if it all goes through.

Don't sleep on LinkedIn. Otherwise, you'll miss out on content like this video showcasing the new WCCB logo and their Independent status (again) that begins on September 1st. https://www.linkedin.com/posts/wccb-charlotte-the-cw_charlotte-and-the-surrounding-region-define-activity-7363652135391010817-4o53?utm_source=share&utm_medium=member_android&rcm=ACoAABqGw-0BrOQ_9csrv95OAtvM37gqLkE_dSc

Sun and FMBC are pretty much one company as a whole but split to avoid FCC regulatory issues. Regardless, its about to get bigger by acquiring more stations from Beasley. If this goes through, I think they'll own 18 stations across radio and TV (WINK, WXCW, WUVF/WLZF, WANA). https://radioinsight.com/headlines/306407/beasley-media-group-announces-fort-myers-cluster-sale-in-q2-earnings-report/

This one hurts. A GIANT. A treasure. THE Walter Cronkite of East Tennessee. Beloved former WBIR anchorman Bill Williams has passed away at 91. Robin Wilhoit couldn't hold it together while delivering the news at noon today, and understandably so. https://www.wbir.com/article/news/local/bill-williams-passes-away/51-52960a4b-54cf-4548-9323-58d68a0574b3

I like that idea. Should've gone with USA News. USA Network, maybe USA Golf, maybe USA Entertainment, idk.

I've been watching her since her days at KTNV Las Vegas. She is fantastic and very beautiful, I do agree.

One of the last original members of WBMA ABC 33/40 is about to hang it up for good. Brenda Ladun will be leaving at the end of the month after nearly 30 years there, obviously when she left WBRC for WBMA because of the whole ABC switch hoopla at the time. Once she leaves, the legendary James Spann will be one of the last originals still left there and THE last from their dream team of Brenda, Dave Baird, James, and Mike Raita. https://www.instagram.com/reel/DNZOslhPwls/?igsh=MWFrcmVlczNveHQyNw==

Today in TWC history... Today marks 20 years since the longest-used logo in the history of The Weather Channel was starting to be used. It has been used ever since and is now one of the most recognizable logos in American broadcasting history.

Scott Jones from FTVLive is reporting in his newsletter that Troy Bridges, former WKMG meteorologist who's now at WWJ-TV Detroit... isn't going to last much longer there. He's joining the new news operation at WUPA Atlanta and will start with morning weather cut ins come Monday, August 18th, before the news operation launches in full next month. This move makes sense for him, considering he's a Georgia native and his alma mater is the University of Georgia.

A look back from last night's 10pm news. Longtime anchors are hard to come by now these days. Allison has proved it all with dignity. She is WMAQ of this generation.
