All About Allen...
MichiganNewsGraphicsJunkie replied to tyrannical bastard's topic in Corporate Chat
I wouldn't be surprised if WLFI is one of them. Lafayette is an "in-between" market between South Bend and Indy. -
Seeing that a couple are former Hearst stations, I wonder if Hearst will pick up any?

Sinclair Broadcast Group - General Discussion
MichiganNewsGraphicsJunkie replied to Smitha A's topic in Corporate Chat
After watching a newscast of WKEF, this anchorless format is just awful. The constant "New Tonight/New Deatils/Etc" titelcards & music between each story is annoying as hell... And listening to someone record the 30 second story in an echoed room is just tacky. 2 thumbs way down... At least Scrippscasts have 25% personality vs. 0% -
Gray Media - General Thread
MichiganNewsGraphicsJunkie replied to The Frog's topic in Corporate Chat
I'm just curious.... Grya's KTVK/KPHO in Phoenix... Even though its Ind/CBS networking, couldn't they technically combine resources some more than they already do?? For example, they have SEVEN meteorologists... Do they really need 7 meteorologist for Arizona?? It just seems that they are overstaffed overall and could see some cuts there eventually. -
Salt Lake City's KSL has had to let go several people, including Dan Spindle, Lindsey Aerts, and Lauren Steinbrecher..per FTVLive

WATE New Graphics
MichiganNewsGraphicsJunkie replied to MichiganNewsGraphicsJunkie's topic in Graphics
Bumping this thread: WATE has now picked up this package as well.. There seems to be tweaks to the package, but it is definitely the WPIX package.. They are still in transition.. using the KOIN package bug and news ticker, but everything else is essentially the new package. Also switched to Ascend for music. -
I had a hunch this was the case
-
I'm very disappointed in this... They let go 3 perfectly good meteorologists for her. Terri could do lots better.. I was expecting her to take over for George Lessens at WZZM...
-
I was watching the continuous coverage online on both station's YouTube channels. For the most part, it was 90% WBBH graphics and 10% WZVN. On WZVN's channel, they were showing everyone in WBBH's studio with the WZVN bug.

Hurricane Milton
MichiganNewsGraphicsJunkie replied to MichiganNewsGraphicsJunkie's topic in The Weather Lab
I'm surprised as well.. It would make more sense... It's kinda like Indy's WXIN/WTTV -- they have 2 completely different news operations but share some resources... They easily could've puuled a KCBS/KCAL -
Wall-to-wall coverage already popping up ahead of Hurricane Milton. Hearst's WBBH/WZVN are once again combining their teams. In this pic, you see WZVN's Jesslyn Ferentz using WZVN graphics in WBBH's studio.

I was thinking the same thing.. I feel that WPIX got shafted graphics-wise.. They are rather cheap looking for the #1 market... Had they gotten this in a blue color, would've been way better.. I really hope they can continue with these smashing packages... The Nexstar "CBS Package" and "NBC Package" are definitely showing their age and could use a great refresh with something along these lines....
-
It's about time KRON gets some love. They've been tossed aside and for the longest time given cheap, uninspiring graphics. This is a step in the right direction. After watching the morning newscast, this is definitely a huge improvement. I could easily see Nexstar rolling this out to their independent stations.. I could easily see KTLA getting this in a blue palette
-
Set debuted at noon yesterday. I didn't realize their studio was on the smaller side....
-
With the coverage of Hurricane Helene, WBBH & WZVN are sharing resources, including reporters and meteorologists. Right now I'm watching the weather coverage and WZVN Chief Met John Patrick is in the WBBH studio helping out... And the live coverage on WBBH is simulcast on WZVN.

Scripps is now looking to sell and leaseback KNXV in Phoenix according to our friend... I think Scripps wants to unload their biggest markets and Phoenix is their largest, followed by Tampa and Detroit... And all the stations have had a decent amount of turnover the past year or so... So I think we'll see several stations up for grabs soon...

This was originally posted in a wrong thread that was moved here to the correct thread. Have a nice day!

Not bad -- at least they switched all of the graphics over.. unlike the last one where there was a mish mash of some

Longtime WOOD-TV anchor Emily Linnert is leaving on Thursday, Sept 12. Emily has done Daybreak and most recently Noon and 4pm. She is pursuing a career outside of TV.
-
With WBUP and WJMN combining to be My UP News, they have switched over to the Morgan Murphy graphics and music.

I agree 100%. All they really needed to do with the other one was change the font from DIN to Proxima and it still would've looked nice... And the new L3's are busy and exciting vs. the new Weather Impact boring white box on the U3... No cohesion

The Ever-Evolving Gray Graphics Situation...Thread
MichiganNewsGraphicsJunkie replied to NEOMatrix's topic in Graphics
I guarantee you they'll keep it Arizona's Family branding since they share reporters/anchors with KTVK -
WKYC Met Hollie Strano is officially fired 9 months after her DUI arrest

While on the topic of Atlanta, WXIA will welcome Danielle Moss from sister station WATN in Memphis as Weekend Met... Strangely enough, she is currently CM at WATN and didn't hold the title a full year.. Kind of a waste of a promotion IMO...

I highly doubt it, unless it's special circumstances... Take ABC 33/40's James Spann.. Seems like he lives there 24/7, especially during the spring months..
