  1. The KMAX and WPSG situations are easy. KQCA and WPHL. Mind you, the latter is a MyNetwork affiliate owned by Nexstar.
  2. Dakota News Now reporter Austin Goss has been fired and charged for making a crank call in January to Gov. Kristi Noem’s office.
  3. NBCLX is shutting down.
  4. I guess Chicago is enough of a channel number market to warrant keeping the 2. Although I have no idea why they're using their 2 in the intro and the WCBS 2 in the bug.
  5. If no payment by Friday, the Reds will be the first to abandon Bally Sports.
  6. Dana Bash replacing John King on Inside Politics.
  7. Looks like Fox is ready for war should Tucker wage it:
  8. Samantha Rivera’s replacement is Ruthie Polinsky from WTVJ. Turns out there was a Chicago-Miami sportscaster trade.
  9. WBBM is gearing up.
  10. They’re wasting no time trying to lure the recently fired Don Lemon and Tucker Carlson to NewsNation.
  11. What a massive earthquake in cable news today.
  12. If today’s news out of FNC wasn’t enough:
  13. The last moments of his show: And how FNC announced it on-air:
  14. The dancer used to be behind a silhouette and they would reveal themselves at the end of the segment.
  15. The dancer has been a feature of the trivia segment since 2006. They would cut to the dancer for a few seconds as the prize wheel was spinning. It’s weird and feels out of place for that segment.
  16. It’s a cheap method of doing news without stressing resources. Get used to it. It’s the future of local news, whether you like it or not. Plus, a few duopoly markets were already doing traditional local news at 9/10pm on their CW/indie stations before NOW launched. Some of them had no news at all. It’s better than doing nothing and letting them languish. Besides, the show isn’t that bad, IMHO.
  17. They might be wanting to debut them with the rechristened streetside studio, whenever it debuts.
  18. I’m thinking CBS News Chicago is in the future for WBBM, as “CBS 2 News” doesn’t have much history in Chicago. I also think they’ll dump channel number and do the call-letter box.
  19. WFOR’s GM is retiring.
  20. WLS IIRC, also does a live preview (usually with Tracy Butler and Michael Strahan) during the 5am hour of their morning newscast.
