  1. The dancer has been a feature of the trivia segment since 2006. They would cut to the dancer for a few seconds as the prize wheel was spinning. It’s weird and feels out of place for that segment.
  2. It’s a cheap method of doing news without stressing resources. Get used to it. It’s the future of local news, whether you like it or not. Plus, a few duopoly markets were already doing traditional local news at 9/10pm on their CW/indie stations before NOW launched. Some of them had no news at all. It’s better than doing nothing and letting them languish. Besides, the show isn’t that bad, IMHO.
  3. They might be wanting to debut them with the rechristened streetside studio, whenever it debuts.
  4. I’m thinking CBS News Chicago is in the future for WBBM, as “CBS 2 News” doesn’t have much history in Chicago. I also think they’ll dump channel number and do the call-letter box.
  5. WFOR’s GM is retiring.
  6. WLS IIRC, also does a live preview (usually with Tracy Butler and Michael Strahan) during the 5am hour of their morning newscast.
  7. According to informalsky on the Discord, KYW debuts Wednesday.
  8. Would be a good fit considering WINK/WXCW is a news-intensive operation, which is what Gray stations are trending toward.
  9. Also consider that Florida is a hot political state.
  10. Marilyn Milian will also remain on TV thanks to Byron Allen. (Of note: Allen is offering both Mathis and Milian for local stations to use in their newscasts for legal analysis.)
  11. The GrayONE look has launched at WCSC.

  13. Damning bombshell from Variety about Don Lemon’s conduct toward women at the network.
  14. ‘CCO gearing up.
  15. The 9am newscast is much different from the regular newscasts. It's much more conversational and doesn't focus much on hard news. The noon/4pm team of Terrance Friday and Rachelle Graham join morning anchors Kris Laudien and Sandra Ali.
  16. Brendan Burke is the new play-by-play voice of Peacock’s MLB Sunday Leadoff.
  17. WBZ has debuted. They went the KCAL route.
  18. ESPN/ABC has all four leagues for a time in the early 2000s.
  19. Pitch clock rundown thread:
  20. Angels radio is calling games remotely for the third straight season.
  21. The Bally networks were offered DTC last year.
