This is what they did.

Joy tossed to commercial and then it was just Joy and Sara. The show ended up being mostly audience questions, which was actually great to watch!

They went to commercial after Sunny and Ana were pulled on air.

The previous commenter was suggesting they could have pulled Sunny and Ana during a commercial break and returned with just Joy and Sara.

Don't know exactly what the show's processes were but I assume the Secret Service was calling at least some of the shots at that point.

The most interesting nugget from this article is not that AFG is joining The View, but that Ana Navarro wanted the full-time spot and didn't get it.  It'd been widely thought that she was only interested in the part time hosting gig.  The show's staff has previously said they were looking for someone who would refute the election lies but who was not a "Never Trumper."  Griffin checks both boxes, whereas Navarro has been widely critical of both Trump and the GOP since Trump's candidacy and lacks favorability among conservative viewers.

That’s lame in my opinion. Ana has been part of the show consistently enough to test her chemistry with the others and it works. So what if she’s a Never Trump, she’s an established Republican strategist historically.

Don’t understand why they can’t make AFG and Ana full-time hosts. They’ve had more than 5 full time hosts in the past, and this would give all the hosts leeway to take on other projects on the side. They can have all six hosts on on the same day too.

It's official: AFG is joining the Hot Topics table as a full-time co-host for Season 26. And in a pleasant surprise, so is

Ana Navarro. The View will now have six co-hosts.

Sunny Hostin also signed a multi-year, multi-million dollar deal to stay as co-host

OG View cast reacts

The original cast reacts to Barbara's passing. I would love for the OG cast to return with Whoopi as moderator. Have the show not just be about politics all the time, but older women's perspective on life.

The View will move to Disney's new Lower Manhattan complex next month. Looks like they're the first show to make the move:

Wow, I didn't realize that they were actually going to have the new facility ready this soon. In my mind, I was assuming either around election time or in 2025.

I wonder if ABC News will have a set in the new facility ready for the election.

The new building is virtually complete at this point - six years after the project was initially announced. In fact, there were articles posted back in February talking about just that and also some anxiety among staffers about the move to 7 Hudson Square:

Page Six: https://pagesix.com/2024/02/16/entertainment/abc-news-staffers-on-edge-as-network-prepares-to-move-to-nyc-no-mans-land-hudson-square/

As for your question about ABC News' move-in (as well as that of WABC-TV), unless plans have changed, those operations aren't expected to relocate there until the first half of next year.

Fingers crossed that WABC will finally have a great set!

The View's current set is really good. Hopefully the new one is a replica or just as good. I'd really like to see them recreate the realistic living room set they had in their first few seasons

If I recall correctly, I believe The View and LIVE are both supposed to start the new seasons in their new studios at 7 Hudson Square.

The headscratcher in the Deadline article is this part, "An address for the new downtown studio was not given during today’s episode." While technically true, it isn't like the move is some sort of state secret.  The move was publically announced in 2018. Numerous news outlets have published articles speculating whether GMA would move from Times Square. Disney fanfare marked the topping-out of the building in 2022. I could go on.

So, for Deadline to act as if the address is a mystery to be revealed later is odd, especially for an industry publication.

Yeah, it feels like it was written without any research of readily-available information.

Come to think of it The View has always had really good sets. The only one I didn’t like much was the translucent/frosted desk introduced around 2007-2008ish.

I really did not like their early 2010s set. The view sets were stronger when the living rooms had depth rather than relying on video walls.

Whew! Set preview looks similar to what they already had. Nice! Would have hated for them to "upgrade to something worse".

If you mean what's shown throughout the ad, I think that IS the old set and the promo is acting in a way to show a "We're moving out of the old place" kind of thing. Still, very excited to see it, and if we get new graphics as well!

This time of year, after Labor Day, can almost be like Christmas for us into the industry, so happy to know that we'll know at least get this new set!

Whoops! That makes sense.

I really love this set.

It's big and open like the early 18th season set, yet as inviting and personable and as warm as-- no, make that warmer than the set of mid-18th season onward. And it's definitely giving Midtown loft like the sets of the single-digit seasons.

I so can't wait to go to a taping now.

Nice. I Prefer the previous set but this is good. The View is great at working flexible video walls in with permanent set pieces. More TV programs need to get learn this--- a barren space with massive screens isn't good design.

GMA needs to consult The View folks on set building. Same with Today!
