rkolsen 1686 Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 WBAL won the demo in 6AM, 5PM, 6PM and 11 PM broadcasts. And they were the only station to grow in every timeslot. I wonder if that means they won in total viewers in every timeslot like they did in February? http://www.wbaltv.com/blob/view/-/33227592/data/1/-/v8pa8o/-/WBAL-TV-11-Leads-Baltimore-Market-In-May-2015.pdf
TexasTVNews 1378 Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 KXAN is the dominant station in the 2015 May sweeps. http://tvradio.blog.austin360.com/2015/05/27/may-tv-ratings-kxan-wins-in-most-news-time-periods/
johnnya2k6 171 Posted May 28, 2015 Posted May 28, 2015 Nothing from Atlanta (yet), though it's going to be the same, tired old story: Channel 2 is still #1. 18-49 will eventually belong to WAGA even with American Idol finally ending next season.
TheRolyPoly 2592 Posted May 28, 2015 Posted May 28, 2015 All the TV ratings from Atlanta always ends up the same... #1: WSB #2: WAGA #3: WXIA #4: WGCL That hasn't changed for years. Why would that change now?
Mrtraveler01 738 Posted May 28, 2015 Posted May 28, 2015 Results from Pittsburgh (WTAE still #1 in mornings, KDKA strong the rest of the day) http://www.post-gazette.com/ae/tv-radio/2015/05/27/In-local-Nielsen-ratings-Dr-Oz-6-a-m-newscasts-dip/stories/201505270077
rkolsen 1686 Posted May 28, 2015 Posted May 28, 2015 Anyword on how Spanish language stations are doing? I assume Telemundo is still on top in Miami?

rkolsen 1686 Posted May 28, 2015 Posted May 28, 2015 Has WBAL always been the news leader in Baltimore? They always have had a consistent solid product and have done well. I believe since 2000 it was a toss up between them and WJZ and frequently they won the evenings while WJZ the mornings. They did suffer when NBC was in fourth place and during the whole Jay Leno at 10PM fiasco but for the past two to three years they made up their losses.
CircleSeven 1960 Posted May 28, 2015 Posted May 28, 2015 The rebrand at WJAX/WFOX actually worked? I'm impressed! Read this March article about the scope the changes they'd made (even the change of content), and you'll see why they're not the underdogs of Jacksonville (at least for this May books; let's see if they maintain this).
TVIntheDesert 185 Posted May 28, 2015 Posted May 28, 2015 Read this March article about the scope the changes they'd made (even the change of content), and you'll see why they're not the underdogs of Jacksonville (at least for this May books; let's see if they maintain this). I still think the station logos look sub-150 market. Other than that, WJAX/WFOX looks well-polished.
MorningNews 1500 Posted May 28, 2015 Posted May 28, 2015 Anyword on how Spanish language stations are doing? I assume Telemundo is still on top in Miami? In Houston Univision and Telemundo outranked all of the english stations in the 18-34 demo for 10 o'clock news.
USNewsie 50 Posted May 28, 2015 Posted May 28, 2015 @rkolsen I saw on Twitter that WPLG is #1 at 6 AM, 6 PM, and 11 PM amongst the English language stations. No info on the rest
rkolsen 1686 Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 WSCV # 1 regardless of language at 5:30, 6:00 and 11:00 PM in total viewers. Their 11 PM newscast was #1 in 18-49 and 25-54 regardless of langauge. KVEA was #1 regardless of language at 5 AM, #1 in Spanish at 6AM in 18-34, 6PM was #2 regardless of language 18-49 and at 11PM they were #2 regardless of language in 18-49 and 25-54. KTAZ was #1 at 10 PM regardless of language in 18-34 and 18-49. WSNS was #1 in Spanish at 10 PM among 18-34 and 18-49 WWSI was #1 in Spanish among 18-34. KXTX was #2 regardless of language in 18-34 KTMD was #2 at 10PM regardless of language in 18-34 and 18-49 beating out all English stations. http://www.mediamoves.com/2015/05/telemundo-newscasts-1-nationwide-in-may-sweeps.html Even with some of these selective demographics they still are impressive ratings.

Samantha 2902 Posted May 30, 2015 Posted May 30, 2015 WSCV # 1 regardless of language at 5:30, 6:00 and 11:00 PM in total viewers. And what's Univisión up to? #1 late news 18-49 in LA, Houston, Dallas; 25-54 in LA and Houston #1 early news in Dallas (18-49), LA, Houston, SF (these last three 18-49 and 25-54) #2 early news in NY, Miami, Dallas (25-54 only) and Phoenix Stiff competition. KTAZ is particularly impressive and is actually pulling in a 1.2/1.5 (18-34/18-49) rating. Telemundo here has it together in a way they never have. They keep impressing me on a regular basis and all that's missing is to get Telemundo Responde up and running out here.
Breaking News 839 Posted May 30, 2015 Posted May 30, 2015 Nothing from Atlanta (yet), though it's going to be the same, tired old story: Channel 2 is still #1. 18-49 will eventually belong to WAGA even with American Idol finally ending next season. Rodney Ho from ajc.com had April Sweeps figure and as usual it went something a little like this. 1.) WSB 2.) WAGA 3.) WXIA 4.) WGCL I don't think much change into May, but here the article with all the latest #s. http://radiotvtalk.blog.ajc.com/2015/04/24/local-news-ratings-wsb-tv-on-top-followed-by-fox-5-11-alive-cbs-46/

NewEnglandOne 17 Posted June 1, 2015 Author Posted June 1, 2015 Hartford, CT Story: http://ne1.be/1AJJ3iM
rkolsen 1686 Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 Apparently in MediaLife (on phone and don't have the link) during the riots WJZ had an 8.0 share and WBAL had 7.3 during the week of the riots from 4-6PM. It makes sense that WJZ would have a higher rating since most people watch WJZ news at 4:00 PM. The article didn't mention WMAR or WBFF at all. WBAL just aired a promo airing they were #1 in total viewers in most time slots during the month and specifically during the riots.
GoldenShine9 1514 Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Looking at CT...WFSB sure is the dominant station there! I would think WTNH is dead in the water in the northern part of the market (such as Hartford) since they don't focus much there.
johnnya2k6 171 Posted June 8, 2015 Posted June 8, 2015 Meanwhile, WLOX has been running promos saying they have the #1 morning and 4:00 newscasts in the country. I guess they're pretty much the anti-WSB (who claims they're the #1 station in America when it's actually WABC). By the way...I'm posting this from Gulfport/Biloxi, Miss. (my old stomping grounds) where the CBS, NBC, and CW subchannels on WLOX and WXXV have knocked WVUE, WNOL, and WGNO off the CableOne lineup after many, many decades.
TheRolyPoly 2592 Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 Sorry to bump this thread, but... KCCI 8 in Des Moines is just dominant in the May 2015 ratings. When I say dominant, I meant... Nexstar isn't too bad, I really don't see them messing with KLAS too much.
