Rusty Muck 4405 Posted January 10, 2017 Posted January 10, 2017 I'm actually curious if there will be any counterprogramming moves by cable networks or streaming services.
ColDayNews 438 Posted January 10, 2017 Author Posted January 10, 2017 I'm actually curious if there will be any counterprogramming moves by cable networks or streaming services. IIRC, AMC will be running the Rocky movies. BET will rerun the Obama farwell specials: "Love and Happiness" and the farewell gala from May.
WestleyWolf 122 Posted January 10, 2017 Posted January 10, 2017 KQCA usually uses KCRA for coverage like this.
nomadcowatbk 156 Posted January 10, 2017 Posted January 10, 2017 any network air any counter-inauguration? any network airing the balls?
GoldenShine9 1514 Posted January 10, 2017 Posted January 10, 2017 Any stations airing local coverage, whether in DC or farther away?
ColDayNews 438 Posted January 10, 2017 Author Posted January 10, 2017 any network air any counter-inauguration? any network airing the balls? Comedy Central is running a South Park marathon all day. USA will also run an SVU marathon until 5:00 PM EST. Oxygen will run a marathon of Snapped from 7:00 am - 10:00 pm EST. That's all I know of ATM.
David Salter JR 66 Posted January 11, 2017 Posted January 11, 2017 is the fox network coverage level 1 or 2? and how many my network affiliates acutally carry fox news live events coverage?
WestleyWolf 122 Posted January 11, 2017 Posted January 11, 2017 is the fox network coverage level 1 or 2? and how many my network affiliates acutally carry fox news live events coverage? the Fox O&Os that own the my network stations.
William1111 41 Posted January 11, 2017 Posted January 11, 2017 MyNetworkTV: Will run FNC-produced Fox network coverage. Now, how is that going to work with the CBS O&O MyNet affiliates (WSBK/WBFS)?
TheRolyPoly 2591 Posted January 11, 2017 Posted January 11, 2017 Now, how is that going to work with the CBS O&O MyNet affiliates (WSBK/WBFS)? Easy... airing College Basketball from the ACC Network between Duke and FSU on MyTV 33 WBFS.
Rusty Muck 4405 Posted January 11, 2017 Posted January 11, 2017 Now, how is that going to work with the CBS O&O MyNet affiliates (WSBK/WBFS)? Seems like it's optional. I can't see why non-O&O affiliates would carry it, especially if: 1) those stations, more often than not, don't have a news department... 2) the people who own the MyNet station don't own the market's respective Fox affiliate... 3) those affiliates would rather run their regular weekday fare, be it court shows, the Springer/Maury/Wilkos block or anything else...

WDCA hasn't aired any form of national breaking news coverage since 9/11, when they were still owned by Viacom as a UPN affiliate and aired CBS News coverage w/ Dan Rather, while WUSA ran local coverage.
MidwestTV 1244 Posted January 11, 2017 Posted January 11, 2017 No word on MSNBC, CNN, Al Jazeera, or even Bloomberg coverage?
TheRolyPoly 2591 Posted January 11, 2017 Posted January 11, 2017 CBS has a primetime special on the day of the Inauguration: "Change and Challenge: The Inauguration of Donald Trump" at 8:00 p.m. ET / 7:00 p.m. CT
rkolsen 1686 Posted January 11, 2017 Posted January 11, 2017 Why is MyNet offering coverage and not Fox? Edit: Never mind I saw that it was Fox News Channel produced coverage.

WTTG also stayed local for most of that day
TheRolyPoly 2591 Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 What, no coverage from C-SPAN? Oh god... they're truly the government network. They'll probably start at either 6:00 or 7:00 am with the Washington Journal.
johnnya2k6 171 Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 Oh god... they're truly the government network. They'll probably start at either 6:00 or 7:00 am with the Washington Journal. And as always, they'll have the inauguration commentary-free. But whatever; it'll be a HUGE day for Netflix and Hulu!
Georgie56 3326 Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 CNBC has Inauguration coverage of Gaslighter-elect President-elect Trump from 11am-3pm.
Rusty Muck 4405 Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 What, no coverage from C-SPAN? If we're (un)lucky enough we'll see another abrupt signal switch from their coverage to RT like earlier today.
Drew 152 Posted January 16, 2017 Posted January 16, 2017 I'm surprised that the networks haven't really published their inauguration coverage plans. I've only seen NBC/MSNBC plans released.
johnnya2k6 171 Posted January 16, 2017 Posted January 16, 2017 And so far, the only promo I've been seeing is for CBS's coverage. But my estimate is that Trump's "inauguration" will be one of the lowest-rated ever, probably low enough to eclipse the 15.5 million who tuned in for George W. Bush's 2005 inauguration. This poses to be very good news...for the outlets not broadcasting it! (The most-watched inauguration ever, by the way, was Ronald Reagan's in 1981 (41.8 million))
Journalist 894 Posted January 16, 2017 Posted January 16, 2017 North of the border, CBC and CTV are planning live coverage of the Inauguration starting at 11:00 am eastern. On the other side of the ocean, BBC and ITV will cover the Inauguration beginning at 16:00 (4:00 pm) local time.
