rkolsen 1686 Posted January 16, 2018 Author Posted January 16, 2018 Looks like the logos progressing on air. They put it in LIDIA where it airs at the TOTH and after commercial breaks.
Rusty Muck 4405 Posted January 16, 2018 Posted January 16, 2018 From WJZ’s Facebook Live feed late this morning. Hmmm...
TheRolyPoly 2592 Posted January 16, 2018 Posted January 16, 2018 From WJZ’s Facebook Live feed late this morning. Hmmm... My prediction of WJZ getting the new CBS O&O graphics in 2018 is one step closer to reality.
MichiganNewsGraphicsJunkie 949 Posted January 16, 2018 Posted January 16, 2018 Seriously, the suspense is killing me... I can't believe this is happening!!
Ryanthenewsgeek 31 Posted January 16, 2018 Posted January 16, 2018 I thought the same thing when I looked. From WJZ’s Facebook Live feed late this morning. Hmmm... I

tw-804 194 Posted January 16, 2018 Posted January 16, 2018 Well, I'm gonna say this (I should've said it a long time ago): you guys got your wish. All that uniqueness will go out the window soon...
SteveKendall 31 Posted January 16, 2018 Posted January 16, 2018 Well, I'm gonna say this (I should've said it a long time ago): you guys got your wish. All that uniqueness will go out the window soon... I'm all for uniqueness, but in the case of WJZ, its uniqueness had gotten to be just plain bad.

All that uniqueness will go out the window soon... WJZ’s appearance had seriously declined in quality in recent years, to the point where that unique look... looked garish and embarrassing. Had their art department been competent enough to not revise the 2004-era look over and over again and actually created something semi-decent, then there probably would be a serious case to retain the uniqueness of that look.

You try looking all hot and sexy when you reach 70 years old. That poor little 13 couldn't even find a sugar daddy to pay for a facelift.
bammy99 25 Posted January 16, 2018 Posted January 16, 2018 That poor little 13 couldn't even find a sugar daddy to pay for a facelift. Eat News once again nails it. Welcome them to the second decade of the 21st Century. Took long enough.

That poor little 13 couldn't even find a sugar daddy to pay for a facelift. That definitely explains the stretched-out Helvetica... at 70 years old, you lose the ability to see properly.
Ryanthenewsgeek 31 Posted January 17, 2018 Posted January 17, 2018 I know this is alittle off topic but, do u think they’ve lost viewership through the years and do you think it will bring viewers back or not?

Don't think I'd fully attribute their ratings slip to their graphics. WBAL just has a better product and is easier to look at IMO.
rkolsen 1686 Posted January 17, 2018 Author Posted January 17, 2018 Saw this for the first time on a traffic map. Is this something that came with the software or is it a style made up by WJZ? I think the fonts Helvetica but if they designed it it looks good.

SteveKendall 31 Posted January 17, 2018 Posted January 17, 2018 Oh god, a mixture of wide Helvetica and Din. At least it's standard wide Helvetica and not the extra-stretched and almost unreadable Helvetica that WJZ has been known for.
MikePulse 319 Posted January 17, 2018 Posted January 17, 2018 At least it's standard wide Helvetica and not the extra-stretched and almost unreadable Helvetica that WJZ has been known for. It’s gotten to the point that we can’t recognize regular extended Helvetica anymore, JZ’s destroyed it so much.
Ryanthenewsgeek 31 Posted January 18, 2018 Posted January 18, 2018 I'm all for uniqueness, but in the case of WJZ, its uniqueness had gotten to be just plain bad. Couldn’t have said it any better!
Info Junkie 1286 Posted January 18, 2018 Posted January 18, 2018 WJZ to CBS is what WNEM is to Meredith.
TheMassMediaGeek 98 Posted January 18, 2018 Posted January 18, 2018 From WJZ’s Facebook Live feed late this morning. Hmmm... YAY! WJZ is starting to get rid of the bolded and Stretched Helvetica!
newsanchor26 107 Posted January 18, 2018 Posted January 18, 2018 WJZ has added the O&O graphics live bug to their newscasts
rkolsen 1686 Posted January 18, 2018 Author Posted January 18, 2018 WJZ has added the O&O graphics live bug to their newscasts Are they doing this piecemeal?
Georgie56 3326 Posted January 18, 2018 Posted January 18, 2018 WJZ has added the O&O graphics live bug to their newscasts It’s slowly coming together...
