I do find it strange that their sister station to the north (KVAL) is still using the old KOMO/Fisher style graphics but the Weather gfx are the new Sinclair graphic.

Even stranger that their SSA partner KMTR was Sinclair-ized in the last go-around with the Curves package.   Usually it's the other way around, but the transition was a little rushed since Newport sold KMTR to Roberts (and SSAed to KVAL), then Fisher was bought by Sinclair months later...

I know there were also plans to move KMTR to KVAL's facility on KVAL hill on the south end of Eugene. As far as I can tell, KMTR is still in its building in Springfield.

Looks like WEYI/WSMH is next in line for the new graphics along with the new "Mid Michigan NOW" branding being unveiled Monday at 6 PM.

Re: KPTM - pretty sure news is still coming out of Fresno but unsure if weather is based in Omaha--that may explain the discrepancy.

Blah. It'll make little dent in a WJRT vs. WNEM two-station market.

I wonder if they'll do a West Michigan Now branding for WWMT??

Seems like they’re doing it for the duopolies that don’t necessarily have any brand equity or ratings pull - i.e. ABC22/Fox 45 in Dayton.  If this were 15 years ago, I could see them doing it in Columbus, but WSYX/WTTE are pretty strong these days in that increasingly boring market.

WEYI/WSMH officially rolled out the new graphics and branding on the 6 PM newscast tonight.

Not sure if anyone noticed, but recently KUNS (Univision Seattle) got the current graphics and music. Making the first Spanish language Sinclair station to do so.

Yea...that was bad

The black & yellow are the colors of the University of Iowa.

YIKES. I kind of like the black and yellow but that voice over made me cringe so hard.

Can Sinclair stop with the hideous play button/News now logos.

KGAN had yellow in their GFX back in the 80s when they switched to their current Calls from WMT...

There’s so many things wrong with it. The voiceover, the gold and black in the graphics, the new branding. This is just not a good look.

Sure! Once WFAA stops with it too.

I'm glad Sinclair is continuing to allow WLUK to be autonomous with the news music.  The gfx and Aerial actually make a great combo.
