NewsMaster 226 Posted July 21, 2017 Posted July 21, 2017 It has only been a month since Marquee Broadcasting acquired WNKY in Bowling Green, Kentucky, and it now appears that they may be looking to start a full news operation for the station. A job opening for a news director at the station has been posted. 5

Eat News 4745 Posted July 21, 2017 Posted July 21, 2017 What is that guy doing? He's trying to get his "mast up"....(rimshot) That's a live truck joke kids... 5
CLETVFan 368 Posted July 22, 2017 Posted July 22, 2017 Shanice Dunning announced on her Facebook page earlier today she's leaving WOIO in Cleveland to "pursue other opportunities."
rkolsen 1686 Posted July 23, 2017 Posted July 23, 2017 Jonathan McCall has replaced Marcus Washington as weekend evening anchor at WJZ.
rkolsen 1686 Posted July 23, 2017 Posted July 23, 2017 Trouble editing the last post. But Lacee Griffith has moved from weekend morning anchor to becoming their traffic reporter.
JacobC 44 Posted July 26, 2017 Posted July 26, 2017 KRON 4 up in the Bay Area has announced that it will be expanding to 3 hours of primetime local news from 8-11pm. It has the morning news from 4-11am and 5-7pm, it will be curious to have more local news since it lost NBC back on NYE '01.
CircleSeven 1960 Posted July 26, 2017 Posted July 26, 2017 Here we go. Yet another news expansion. TVNewsCheck stated that on August 21st, KRON 4 will be adding a new 9pm show, making their lineup a "primetime news block" from 8-11pm. The 15-minute 11pm show will be eliminated. MyNetworkTV programming will be aired from 11pm-1am. 1

C Block 1566 Posted July 26, 2017 Posted July 26, 2017 So KRON 4's gonna be the KCAL9 of the Bay Area... Let's not get ahead of ourselves. This is still the station that runs like a small market station in a large market. They still send MMJs everywhere when all the big boys have a reporter and photog in an ENG truck at the same event, and they still whore themselves out by producing paid programming features during newscast breaks. If Fisher Price ever got into news, their news channel would look a lot like KRON. 1
TheRob 938 Posted July 26, 2017 Posted July 26, 2017 Stella Thurkill was one of my anchors when I worked at KTKA in Topeka. I had no idea she still worked in TV news. That's pretty good longevity for a female on-air talent. https://www.ftvlive.com/sqsp-test/2017/7/26/out-the-door-in-billings 1
atlnews2 596 Posted July 26, 2017 Posted July 26, 2017 sounds like WOIO's ND could get fired https://www.ftvlive.com/sqsp-test/2017/7/25/changes-in-cleveland
Breaking News 839 Posted July 26, 2017 Posted July 26, 2017 sounds like WOIO's ND could get fired https://www.ftvlive.com/sqsp-test/2017/7/25/changes-in-cleveland until somebody else takes over the job. It seems like being a news director at both WOIO/CBS 19 & WGCL/CBS46 should come with a warning sign. DANGER! Do This Job At Your Own Risk! 3
WestleyWolf 122 Posted July 26, 2017 Posted July 26, 2017 So KRON 4's gonna be the KCAL9 of the Bay Area... or Boston's WHDH.
CircleSeven 1960 Posted July 26, 2017 Posted July 26, 2017 or Boston's WHDH. WHDH doesn't have news on the 8pm hour.
WestleyWolf 122 Posted July 26, 2017 Posted July 26, 2017 WHDH doesn't have news on the 8pm hour. oh my bad.

They have made WWOR such a non factor in DMA 1.

JoseRM303 171 Posted July 27, 2017 Posted July 27, 2017 Several NBC O&Os are adding an additional half hour to their morning news programs pushing early today to a 3 30 a start time. http://www.adweek.com/tvspy/nbc-washington-adds-extra-hour/192554 1
