It’s like another version of The Issue Is from KTTV.

Except its more fun and not so much news heavy or political-based.

Anyways, unrelated to that... Michelle Meredith's sign off from WESH 2.

Today, Little Rock says goodbye to an Arkansas legend.

Melinda Mayo is retiring today after nearly four decades on Arkansas television, first on KARK for 9 years, and then for the last 30 years on KATV, mainly on Daybreak.

She's prioritizing her health as the reason for her retirement.

EDIT: I forgot to mention this but Austin Burkes is her official replacement and will start in his new role on Monday.

A very bittersweet departure for a KSWB original.

It was 18 years ago when KSWB launched its news department and Chrissy Russo came from XETV to help launch their morning news (5-9am at the time).

Now, after all that time, including an ownership change, she has decided to retire and has left the building today.

Sports anchor/reporter Samantha Rivera has left WFOR.

I have a feeling she is going national, or returning to Chicago. Her boyfriend Brandon Baylor works for CBS Sports so unless he moving somewhere she’s going with him.

actually correct that I think they broke up.

Pilar Pedraza has spent a big chunk of her career in Wichita, and has done the trifecta there... KSNW (2001-2006), KWCH (2012-2017), and KAKE (2018-2026; her longest stop there) plus bonus time at KPTS (2017-2024).

But now, she's changing her scenery, for the first time in 25 years, from Kansas... to the Twin Cities as she joins KSTP/KSTC.

After 8 1/2 years at KOVR/KMAX doing mornings for both KOVR and Good Day Sacramento on KMAX, and 20 years in the business, Dina Kupfer has left the building for the last time.

And, of course, she left in true Good Day style (IYKYK).

And now that she has left, WESH 2 has promoted Lindsey Sablan (formerly from WINK who joined last year) to weeknights.

She'll now do 5:00 and 10:00pm (WKCF) with Jesse Pagan while Michelle Imperato now gets the coveted 6:00 and 11:00pm slots alongside Stewart Moore.

Sad to see, Summer was great. Pretty cool that she was bodybuilding as a mom as well!

I like that WESH is he only station in the market with a variety of evening anchors. WKMG, WFTV, and WOFL all have about the same two anchors on almost all of their evening/nightside newscasts. --- And all almost newscasts are sponsored by Dan Newlin too lol.

Is that set real or virtual, it looks fantastic.

Or Morgan and Morgan. Both law firms were created in Orlando, so I'm not surprised. I also saw Dan Newlin ads as well while I was in Tampa Bay (Polk County) on vacation for two weeks and got to study and watch all stations for a bit there (except for WWSB, which I didn't have access to).

I don't know what's bigger.  John Morgan's ego or his law firm 😅

Is the tide starting to turn in New Orleans, in terms of ratings?

I know this doesn't tell a full and complete picture, but Jim Syoen posted this on FB.

It shows that, at least with Adults 25-54 in March, WDSU is now #1 at 5, 6am, 4, 5 and 6pm. WVUE was #1 in those timeslots (except for 6pm since WVUE does WOF-J! in that hour).

What is Newlin's budget???!!! It's insane.

Add to that WESH also switches anchors from 7-9 an on their CW 18 morning newscast. Stations these days (like WFTV) just stretch the same two anchors for 4-5 hours straight.

His last newscast is April 17th. And yes, he's heard everything about who he shares a name with.

Here's his farewell:

If this isn't the appropriate forum please feel free to move this post to the right spot.  I noticed something in recent days that is very odd.  I'm located in the Knoxvile DMA and I have Xfinity (Comcast).  For reasons unknown they removed WATE and myVLT (WVLT 8.2) from the basic tier lineup.  Historically you would have WKOP (PBS) on 2, WPXK (ION) on 3, WVLT (CBS) on 5, WBXX (CW) on 7, myVLT (mynetTV, WVLT 8.2) on 8, WBIR (NBC) on 9, WTNZ (FOX) on 11, and finally WATE (ABC) on 13.

When channel 13 is entered, it instead reroutes to Antenna TV.  For WATE, I have to go all the way to channel 1006 to get them.

Not sure if this is something having to do with Nexstar or why this would be the case.

For the first time in Jacksonville history... local news in Spanish will be arriving on May 4th on Telemundo Jacksonville (WFOX 30.4).

Local news on Noticias Jacksonville will be airing on weeknights at 5:00, 6:00, and 11:00pm. It'll probably be pre-taped since WFOX/WJAX are on during those times.
