TheRolyPoly 3510 Posted March 25 Posted March 25 Marcelle Fontenot has left KADN/KLAF. A longtime fixture of Acadiana television, she has left the station to be the Chief Communications Officer at the University of Louisiana at Lafyette. She and Jim Hummel spent 17 years together on TV, the majority of that time on KATC before their high-profile market switch to KADN/KLAF two years ago. Her replacement? Another longtime fixture of Acadiana television, Darla Montgomery, who only joined the station around a week ago after "retiring" from KLFY after 33 years nearly a year or two ago. https://louisiana.edu/news/ul-lafayette-names-veteran-broadcaster-marcelle-fontenot-chief-communications-officer#:~:text=Marcelle Fontenot%2C a veteran newscaster,University of Louisiana at Lafayette https://www.kadn.com/news/local/darla-montgomery-and-jim-hummel-celebrate-first-newscast-as-news-15-anchor-team/article_f98843fa-4503-4f8d-ad46-e0190f73c76a.html?fbclid=IwZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAc3J0YwZhcHBfaWQPNDA5OTYyNjIzMDg1NjA5AAEe22wFeNRqHhXB5EPPCFLE74v2k1dKKBZGGT5iM0Y0HqbgM1BrDe695h3PyOU_aem_8ldJbmAUxxT6U9nAMrD4NA 1

TheRolyPoly 3510 Posted March 27 Posted March 27 Mike Grogan is not waiting until the end of his contract with "KOKI" to make his next career move, as well as to address the subsequent changes taking place there. Bizarre move from evening anchor to MMJ at 7 (which is not a great job anymore) 7 needs a whole new male anchor bench. The current two are not ready for market 14.

Neither male anchor is great. 7’s shows still aren’t as bad as DIV’s. That place is hurting. Don’t really care about ratings for this thought exercise. Just that 4 makes tons more mistakes and has serious technical issues that would kill you before the day was out if you make it a drinking game. Edited March 31 by ns8401
TheRolyPoly 3510 Posted March 31 Posted March 31 This week marks the end of an era at WESH 2... Michelle Meredith's final week after nearly 40 years there (38 to be exact). Her last day is on Friday and while she announced it last month, its this week where she announces her last week. I don't think there's anybody there left who is still working there before she did as she has become a synonymous name in the newsroom and on Orlando television. Goodbye reports have begun and here is one of them: https://www.wesh.com/article/michelle-meredith-retires-nearly-40-years-wesh-2-orlando/70887611 1
