24994J 5422
Just a polite reminder to all. Not only does not every market NEED a full fall wrap-up, what full-market changes are posted don't NEED to be novels. So, KPRC must be taking the Pacific time hour of the newscast with Kate Snow and Aaron Gilchrist. Not surprised about that given KPRC has essentially become KNBC East (since it is a port city unlike where KXAS is and has ex-KNBC personalities Daniela Guzman and Anthony Yanez on staff), and any day now I expect Graham to cash out, with NBC very likely to scoop up the station and create a duopoly with KTMD, even with the new KPRC+ which could very well be a test case for a potential future independent subchannel with second runs of syndicated shows, additional newscasts, filler and live high school sports (including the very popular Texas tradition of - wait for it - high school volleyball on Tuesday nights...).  Also, just for the record, while I am definitely not a soap fan by any stretch of the imagination, the Days of Our Lives finale - set in a mausoleum scene - did not have a dramatic outro. That furthers my suspicion that NBC's earnest efforts to compete with ABC for the afternoon news ratings may be a tad bit underwhelming. Wouldn't be shocked if eventually NBC fills a game show, like Password which has done well in primetime this summer or - prayerfully - a return of Concentration or Sale of the Century, with the latter perhaps as reparations for much of the Jim Perry run in the 80s supposedly being lost,  either in the old DOOL slot or maybe in between OG Today and Hoda & Jenna. But if any game show from NBC's past deserves to be brought from the dead, it should be Scrabble! Edited September 9, 2022 by SS8609
H-Town TV Fan 204
Apparently my mind was in another area code because KRIV Fox 26 will actually start airing "Pictionary" on September 26. A promo I saw just a few minutes prior to the time of typing confirmed this. So now I know why I see "Nick Cannon" at 1:00pm instead. TheRolyPoly 1929
On 9/8/2022 at 8:58 PM, Greggo said: Some odd last-minute changes at KPRC/Houston, made by the new GM who just arrived from KSAT. With less than a week’s notice, Houston Life gets demoted to its old spot, 1p, starting Monday. It was just announced on air today. The show had been on at 3p. But the changes start earlier, at 11a. The Midday newscast gets shortened by 30 minutes. A day-old episode of ET airs at 11:30a, instead of 12:30p. The noon news expands to an hour. So still 90 minutes of news, just in a weird configuration. I’m not really sure why they insist on running the ET repeat. Just do 2 straight hours of news. Putting it in between two newscasts is … bizarre. Anyway, Houston Life as said above airs at 1p, where NBC News Live was supposed to run. Now, NBC News Live will air at 2p (Is there even a live feed at that hour?) and Dr. Phil is at 3p. NBC News Live will kill the afternoon momentum, IMHO. Anyway, this is all dramatically different from the schedule they had been promoting just days ago.  NBC News Daily will have four live feeds... 12 Noon, 1:00, 2:00 and 3:00pm ET, which is in conjunction with the NBC News NOW schedule.  On 9/8/2022 at 9:13 PM, Nelson R. said: There’s a small market station in Minnesota (KMNT I believe) that is taking the noon ET feed so it will air at 11am CT there.  You mean KMNF-LD Mankato?  On 9/8/2022 at 11:22 PM, Matt S. said: WKMG - no changes either. graham media must runs on Saturday nights when needed. Inside Edition Weekend remains on Sunday nights at 11:35pm.  I'm not aware that Graham Media does must runs because I don't think they do. What WKMG does do though is run two half-hour shows that are produced by them, After The Whistle (sports) and Getting Results (investigations/consumer reports), that air on Saturdays after their 11:00pm news.

It's WFTV's news (plus Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune) that's propping them up essentially. Also, didn't they used to air Oprah in Orlando? Â WZZM: I was wrong The Rookie takes the post Castle late Sun 11:30PM to 1:30AM. Â I have no idea where 911 will be going maybe what happen to Chi Fire will air once college football is over and will air sometime on Sat on WXMI if they did get 911. That’s weird; I thought the show went out of production not long ago (unless WGN had a deal with the syndicator for another show and that fell through and the syndicator decided to give them this instead)….  On a related note, being that WGN has Friends at 3p and the station serves as the Chicago home of Antenna TV and Rewind TV, I wonder why the station didn’t lease any sitcoms from those networks to fill the 2p slot. I’d have gone with either Three’s Company or the Jeffersons to pair with Friends on the WGN schedule. Granted, these sitcoms may not draw a lot of viewers, but still, WGN’s move with Paternity Court reruns at 2p is a head-scratcher, I think….
VHSgoodiesWA 287
KIMA/KEPR-DT2 (CW+) will air The Good Doctor, Sat at 7pm KAPP will air 9-1-1 and The Rookie reruns on weekend evenings. KNDO will air Magnum P.I. (2 episodes) at 2:30AM early Sunday morning, and another repeat following Sunday Night Football. Â iCrime not cleared here. Â In a HUGE change in Seattle...KIRO-7 says bye bye to Judge Judy after over *20* years, and has started airing a 4:00 newscast (joining the other Big 4 stations). In addition, The List airs at 3PM, and a new show called Afternoon Focus airs at 3:30. Entertainment Tonight and The List are the only weekday syndicated shows left on KIRO. Where did her reruns go? MediaZone4K 1789
Jennifer Hudson's new show has a pretty decent and wide looking set, one of the best these days I've seen next to Drew Barrymore. Her show was actually a pleasant surprise given the state of daytime. Her guest list does have a strong celebrity line up aswell.  Sherri Shepherd's great personality was on display for her first show. It was less gossipy and moreso friends chatting than Wendy Williams. Jennifer's first episode seemed stronger but both shows have a lot of promise. Edited September 14, 2022 by iron_lion
mrschimpf 2188
JHud and Sherri...great shows, thank goodness. Hopefully they'll move on from 'another Wendy' talk real fast, because they're none of that.  The complete dud for sure this year is iCrime, which I would call yet another 'crime porn' show. I've seen a few of these internationally where there's some host (either a female host being put on contract burn-off duty, or a military-looking guy with no sense of humor who has so much testosterone and muscle in him he's banned from even semi-pro pickleball) running down whatever's been submitted to their network, or from the "new crime + country we're in + caught on camera" YouTube search, and it's nothing but an hour of dread and terror with no levity to be found and it makes you want to build a bunker and hide from the world. If you need to die inside, look up an episode of C4 en alerta.  This is exactly like that, and I don't know why they needed Elizabeth Vargas; they could literally pay a stripper cop to present this on his off-hours and there's no difference. It's just crime after crime after crime filled with terrible phone or security cameras, lots of bleeping and blurring, a bunch of has-been 'experts' who add nothing except crime tips you learned from SafetyPup in 1988, and occasional victim interviews. It's pretty much yet another Scott Sternberg Production done on the cheap which only exists to scare people and keep MyNet affiliates on the air for two hours a day. Plus for some reason the host segments are 'filmized', when it looks like they were filmed on a TracFone Android, and I've seen better greenscreening on Zoom calls.  Also God, watching Elizabeth Vargas go from the ABC anchor desk, to 20/20, then to a failed AMW reboot and now this in four years...her agent not only needs to be fired, but have their license taken away. This show makes the $7 Bellum shows that never paid anybody look network-quality in comparison.  We still have the Amazon infomercial Ring Nation coming, but at least they plan to have humorous segments and Wanda Sykes as a host. This has none of that to save it. Edited September 14, 2022 by mrschimpf 2 1
VHSgoodiesWA 287
I just want to make sure - did Kelly Clarkson move into Ellen's old studio or did Jennifer Hudson? It sure looks like Ellen's old set on full display watching Jennifer Hudson earlier today. Â I see KCYU acquired 'The Neighborhood,' but only in a weekend double-run, 1-2AM Sundays, and Thursdays following MLB baseball. No weeknight time slot. Young Sheldon goes into another year of reruns with no clearance in Yakima. With how much KIMA advertises the Big Bang reruns at 7, it still baffles me why they didn't clear YS reruns. They could have promoted this as 'The Sheldon Hour' after the local news, or something like that...

VHSgoodiesWA 287
Didn't 'Average Andy' move over there? I wonder if they will let him continue the Halloween haunted house segments. Rather apropos considering how big of a foodie city Houston is from the restaurants down to the food trucks and the prepared foods sections at the grocery store...Even the frozen food section (especially at HEB) is better in Texas!  And yes, apparently KPRC has filled the rest of its weekend overnight hours with zombie reruns of Impractical Jokers and whatever cheap barter they get from Byron Allen since he missed out on getting KHOU and the carcass of what used to be Joel Osteen's TV station.  As for what I've noticed, once Karamo comes online, whatever they're airing at noon now on KIAH is going to the 4am hour as has been aforementioned by my fellow Houstonian OP. Right now, they've mostly aired infomercials dealing with Camp Lejeune toxic water settlement claims, not unlike what they aired with regards to the Boy Scouts sex abuse allegations.  Lastly, on KHOU they have been putting a positive spin of sorts on the "new" Daily Blast Live and even did an interview with Jeff Schroeder (former reality TV alum-turned-DBL host) that aired on its 4pm news Monday. The same show whose half-hour access "recap show" has aired after James Corden's Late Late Show from almost the very beginning...Personally, I wouldn't be shocked if this is just filler until Soo Kim seals the deal and sends KHOU (and WFAA + KVUE) Cox's way...
