  4. No doubt a good chunk of Univision Chicago's viewers speak only Spanish, but it also stands to reason that some of their viewers are bilingual (meaning, they could also be viewers of English-language newscasts too). When you couple that together, Univision could easily come close to or beat WLS (or whomever else) at 10P. At the end of the day, viewers are viewers no matter how you look at it.

  5. I'm not sure I see the issue here... Every viewing option on TV at 10 p.m. is competing for a share of viewership. I could understand if they were claiming to be #1 against WLS if they were airing a telenovela vs Channel 7's newscast but they're not. KTRK in Houston has battled with Univision here for the top spot at 5,6 and 10 with Univision on top lately. It's more of a change in demographics and viewing habits and to dismiss it as non fair comparisons ignores that.

  6. Yeah, the logo in the render absolutely looks like it's an evolution of the current stuff but it's *absolutely* not the same. The set so far looks great, I hope the graphics just do it justice. And this should put to bed any rumors of ABC standardizing...

  7. The reason it's blocked is because LIVE TV is only available to in-market cable subscribers. Basically it's the desktop version of the NBC Everywhere platform. There should still be a separate link for live-streaming of their newscasts. It might be hard to find, depending on how the NBC O&O handles their webpage. Often times you'll see a banner on the main page that says Watch Live: NBC XX News at XX O'clock.

  9. Yeah, I mean, his biggest offense is overseeing the change of theme music, but it's been almost 4 years, already, and just about everything else he's been a part of has been solid.

  12. The link to the newscast went missing for months now. The other O&Os still post the live link when it is time for each newscast but NBC Boston has been lacking in that department. It started out as weekends I couldnt watch and now weekdays is included it.

  13. Yeah, that's typical. I guess the geoblocking is for the stream of the station's programming, which makes sense as that's a whole other can of worms.

  14. That shit blows! It would be really sad if all stations did this.
