  1. I didn't picture Wiegel Broadcasting buying ANYTHING. This is more surprising than Morgan Murphy Media buying the Saga stations

  2. This one's a long shot... but who did this NBC credits music bed used around 1995? I guess this would have been before they used the Tonight Show theme which was used up until 2005 or so. I know there are better examples out there on YT; they're just hidden within 10/11pm newscasts...

  3. What's Weigel doing buying stations? That's literally the last one I'd expect to be buying anything.

  4. Oh and its partly produced out of Arkansas. Because that same set is also used for WGFL/WNBW's news too.

  5. I think it *still has* news. Their program guide lists "St. George News at 8" which appears to be a partnership with this website. Here's a taste: The music is a production track; I heard it on an open from Belize once.

  6. The crystal bug remains because it's 4x3 safe whereas the CBS TM bug is totally out of 4x3 safe area for the few stations that are holdouts on letterboxing their SD signals.

  7. I'd like to think this is a good thing, because I watch Bounce and Laff almost faithfully. But since management will stay the same and higher ad revenue & investment will be coming in, this more than probably is. So great for everyone involved. I'd also like to assume high station changeover as well?

  8. They're likely to get the hollow shells. Book on the Tribune stations in conflict markets being moved to a subchannel, and Sinclair spins off the remaining licenses, and nothing else. KSTU will be moved to a KUTV or KJZZ subchannel. It's a foregone conclusion.

  9. INN/Media Gateway, huh. There in the same facility that use to housed the former HQ of Equity Broadcasting. Arkansas Business did a recent article about their operations.

  10. At one point, when Tribune acquired This TV from Weigel, they would wait for the contract from a competing station in the market to expire. And then after that, it would be move it to the Tribune-owned station. KIAH doesn't carry This TV because KPRC is carrying it. And KSL is carrying This TV, instead of KSTU. So if the Lighthouse wants those diginets (the one that they don't have) on their air, they would likely have to wait until contracts expire.

  11. Does this EW Scripps purchase mean all of their stations will carry at least one of these networks? What does it mean for the non-Scripps stations that have one of these networks on their subchannels?

  14. Nothing makes me happy like a hearing a classic. Dan Dean's KOMO News 4 theme especially the promo at the beginning of clip. All I wanted to hear is the full theme rather than just a NMSA sample. If anyone, ANYONE has it, please...dm if you can. I had an interaction a while back who has the KOMO and KING cds from Dan Dean. I asked him to send the mp3 files to no avail. I'll probably try again. Man, didn't Fisher's KOMO had soul or what? (Case can made same for Bullett/Belo's KING)

  16. Per a Facebook post, Danielle Leigh who most recently was at King 5 in Seattle is joining ABC 7 as an investigative reporter for "7 on your side" she starts in August.
