  1. The set feels like a lateral move. I like imaging closer to 'Sunday Morning,' though I hope that program isn't changed too much. Points for 'Saturday Morning,' versus the silliness that was 'This Morning: Saturday,' but I feel like 'This Morning' on weekdays would've been more cohesive than 'Mornings.' That said, I doubt any of it will make any difference, positive or negative.

  2. I am so mad. I don’t understand why you have a network named NewsNation which brags about the newsrooms you have across the country and be showing syndicated programming during one of the worst storms to hit LA. They literally have more reporters on the ground versus any network. Use them. Do affiliate coverage. Jesus. It’s not hard. This doesn’t help your cause.

  3. I just don’t understand why they keep changing the name of the show. I know it’s for the ratings, etc. but for example, whenever you say the words “GMA” or “Today show” to someone, there’s a likely chance they know what you’re talking about. But for CBS, it’s just gonna make it hard to keep up with people who have no interest in it. Other than the name change, it does look like an exciting, fresh look.

  4. Tom is really being featured prominently. He anchored a special report on the end of the Afgan war. CBS could take a page from NBC and ABC, take the time to really boost and develop talent incase you have to fill a more prominent vacancy in the future.

  6. Well, Jane’s been working off a green-screen since the pandemic so maybe they’re retrofitting their set into TSS?

  7. Didn’t CBS already try and fail to use the Sunday morning formula/brand on weekdays back in the 80s??? Similarly didn't they switch from the name CBS This Morning to “This Morning” in the 90s? History repeats itself. The new studio looks better than the current, and Nate might be a better fit than Anthony but the name change was unnecessary. You’ve had the title CBS This Morning for 9 years now, keep the consistency. They would have had me with “Sunrise”, “Daybreak” or “Dawn” but CBS Mornings is bland. Hopefully they leave Jane in the OG set on Sundays and continue to top Today and GMA content wise on the weekdays.

  8. So they're moving Jane into the new studio as well? I get the "marrying" concept they're doing, but I'm still a fan of "If it ain't broken..."

  9. Considering that KABC ad still uses the current coloring of the 7, I'm not sure that's entirely the final design, but it almost seems like the O&O's are rebelling against the size mandates. WLS just ran a graphic for the upcoming 'Windy City Weekend,' and it features a logo closer to current WABC, who I imagine will also adopt this version. The slightly different circle 7 is straight out of New York, and the ABC placement is sized and positioned in an almost compromise middle ground between what WABC and WLS have been using. Personally, I don't care for it, but I'll adjust. With current WLS over new... Current WABC...

  10. Just found what some of the O&Os (I.e KABC, KGO WLS) logo will look like. Yes this may be official.

  11. Renaming the network to NewsNation when you have a fixed schedule with just a few hours of news per day is so ridiculous. Sad to see that they don't even cover any type of breaking news that happens during the day, now almost one year after the network started doing news.

  12. NN couldn’t own the Afghanistan story because of their limited resources over seas. While the other networks are owning this, let them. NN move in and own Ida. Own it. Stay on the air, own it. You have the resources to even share live station coverage like HLN used to do did it.

  13. I personally hate Fox’s reporting on other media outlets. They take a very obvious subjective stance against other personalities that they deem “liberal media.”

  14. It is a homecoming for Tom. Prior to ABC News, he was at WNBC. He is also NBC's national correspondent.

  15. Not directly a broadcaster, but it's big enough in MN that competitors are covering the death of former WCCO Sports Anchor Mark Rosen's wife after a long battle with cancer. (Rosen is now with KFAN Radio) https://minnesota.cbslocal.com/2021/08/31/my-heart-is-aching-mark-rosen-announces-wife-denise-passed-peacefully/ https://www.kare11.com/article/news/local/denise-rosen-dies-cancer-battle-wcco-mark-rosen/89-c7de92a3-8149-4f8d-b936-c1d8752f1aa6

  16. If I'm not mistaken, this upcoming season or the 2022-23 season may be the last of the reruns entirely. So perhaps they could start warming up the replacement show for that time slot.
