  1. I'm not an Eyewitness News junkie. I'm a very casual ABC7 news viewer. To me, it is not important. It identifies WABC being an ABC station,. Mission accomplished,. Most viewers probably do not notice the bug to begin with.

  2. I really can’t believe Disney spent millions to rebrand ABC and came up with a logo that looks like a middle school student’s intro to graphic design project.

  3. 100% agree. I’m not sure why anyone is upset by this, it ties in really nicely with WABC’s horrible presentation.

  5. At least it matches the cheesiness of WABC's graphics now.

  6. I know... this would have happened during the pandemic anyway, if it wasn't a hypothetical situation.

  7. Yeah terrible, im sorry. I prefer the shiny more forward look that they had in the mid 2010s. This flat look is too bland and is a step backwards for me.

  8. Wonder where he’ll wind up? Maybe Good Day NY? Lol

  9. The KDKA/KYW hybrid thing was a result of CBS forcing their O&Os to come up with redundancy plans after the COVID-19 outbreak at CBS News/WCBS HQ in NY. Of course, it forced other stations to pick up the slack last minute (Boston covering for NY, etc.) I doubt any of these will really ever see the light of day, but who knows?

  11. Technically, Steve Kamer is already heard on KYW.... during Inside Edition. LOL.

  12. It was taken down due to KDKA-TV not having legal use to Brian Lee due to Lee having a contract with WPXI-TV. They couldn't use Kamer either due to WCAU.

  13. They used the blue graphics, and I wish I had saved a copy because I'm not sure who the voiceover was, but it was likely something thought up during the pandemic (as mentioned) to lighten the load on the stations that just never came to fruition.

  14. Good because this new logo is a massive step backwards graphically. WABC in general has been the lesser of the big 3 stations graphics and studio wise, none the less they’re still on top!

  15. The 11pm news tonight now has the flat abc dot as part of the ABC7 logo in the bottom right. Same size as before.

  16. Catching the 10pm on CBSN Philly and they have Ross Guidotti from KDKA reporting, which is a sad commentary on the state of affairs at KYW. I know WPVI had a WABC reporter on earlier today, but she was reporting from their turf in North Jersey. Ross was reporting from Montgomery County. This brings to mind that mysterious KYW/KDKA combined newscast open that was posted on the CBS Philly Creative YouTube account a few months ago that disappeared after a few days. I’m betting KYW wishes that had come to fruition.

  17. Tom is really being featured prominently. He anchored a special report on the end of the Afgan war. CBS could take a page from NBC and ABC, take the time to really boost and develop talent incase you have to fill a more prominent vacancy in the future.

  18. Yeah, it's gonna be rough enough when each station starts adopting it, and 200 stations get individual posts on here. There is NO need to announce that a station has NOT yet made the change. Those posts will be hidden, and repeated infractions could be treated like spam.

  19. That probably wouldn't be a bad idea. Ticks all the boxes.

  20. It ain't good but it could be much worse. Also can't help but wonder if that's an element from the O&O package or not although it could pass for something from their in-house look as well.

  21. I'm not optimistic at the ratings potential, period, but if it's just another hour of Brad & Irika (find a week when both are co-anchoring), with the low-key presentation and super serious mood, it'll be DOA. Besides, a 4th show of the same team will look cheap, even to the casual viewer. Good luck to them, but enjoy the continued battle for 4th place.

  22. KLAS veteran Gary Waddell has died of a heart attack while battling COVID-19 in a Las Vegas hospital. He was 77. According to the linked article, he was fully vaccinated but suffered a breakthrough case.
