  1. I get the impression that the EN is trying to reinvent itself as a newspaper for TV.

  2. Looks like when the new CBS Evening News launches on the 27th, they'll be a graphics refresh of sorts. Also, nice to see a promo where there isn't much focus on the anchors, which kinda makes sense considering the new multi-anchor setup.

  3. NIce... but font-wise, we're already ditching that Mandate huh?

  7. Following up on this, today Chris Wragge joined Cindy due to the Trump sentencing. I suppose I understand why WCBS is doing this, but I totally agree it seems bizarre to do this during 'bigger stories' (and not necessarily during wall to wall breaking news where 2 anchors helps).

  9. Not sure why Rosanna Scotto needs to be a panelist on the Fox News show The Five today. She made a notable mistake in U.S. history,

  10. Gonna miss their outgoing space so very dearly. I remember when they moved to the street-side on Columbus Ave in 2011. It was a refreshing moment for them. I remember driving there from Long Island and parking the car just beside the studio just to get a star-stricken glimpse of the anchors haha. I think it was during the weekend so I saw Jeff Smith, Joe Torres, and Sandra Bookman at the time seated there. But it's been more than 10 years in the studio so it makes sense for them to refresh again, hopefully, they'll get a nicer look, hopefully, a bit brighter this time than their previous look. But they used that space pretty well all in all so will be nice to see what the future holds for them at their new space at 7 Hudson Square.

  11. What's the point of launching a second half hour when you don't even know if the first is going to work? Plus, why does Dickerson get to anchor the second half hour solo? Is he even going to appear during the first?

  12. Indeed it does feel weird. Haven't seen much promotion on air or online for this new arrangement. I don't think I've seen Nora announce (on-air) that she'll be stepping down. Looks like CBS is relying on news articles to spread the word. Maurice has a body of work outside of the NYC area. He has filled in on the CBS Evening News numerous times over the past decade. Maurice also did a special for BET, and if I'm not mistaken, he's done reports for CBS Sunday Morning. There's no mistaking that he is qualified, I just don't know if pairing him with John Dickerson is the right answer.
