  1. Our best wishes are off to Sara Gore. She announced today during New York Live that she has been diagnosed with breast cancer. https://www.instagram.com/reel/DXw3dq-OIxz/?igsh=dHFjaHp2dmZiOXBh

  2. That would make sense in keeping consistent with the teams. 4/6 David and Liz 5/11 Mike and Sade

  3. A sign of the times that Bill's days with WABC are starting to be numbered. But its fair, he's 76 now.

  4. Liz Cho co-hosted Up Close with Bill Ritter on Sunday and at the end Bill said that she would be joining him going forward. So I guess that's the succession plan for that program. Kind of surprised it didn't go to Mike Marza, since he's subbed for Bill in the past.

  5. I never understood why, he go to the weather channel he was fine on ABC. I thought it was weird back then we he got it.

  6. Legacy means nothing. Ask Mark Kriski at KTLA.

  7. Legacy means nothing in the penny pinching era, especially at Nexstar. God forbid Kaity and Mr G might be on the chopping block next. Speculation but WNBC's Chuck Scarbourough's 50 anniversary came around in March 2024 and I recall Andrew Siff clarifying that is was a celebration not a retirement, but then Chuck retires just a few months later in December? I'm not sure that was fully his choice. Dana Tyler and Maurice Dubois were both axed from CBS/WCBS. Anyone is expendable these days.

  8. Incorrect. John worked at WNBC prior to joining WPIX the first time. Craig worked at WNYW prior to joining WPIX. Regardless, what makes you think Nexstar cares about legacy anchors? Take a look at what’s happening at their stations across the nation.

  9. Kendis was laid off. My point is if you’re going to pay the big bucks to bring in network talent, then have them work more than one show. Surprised Kaity hasn’t been given the pink slip the way they’ve been giving them out.

  10. I don't blame him. He thought he hit the jackpot when The Weather Channel (which was owned by a consortium of Blackrock and NBC at the time) offered him the chance to do his own morning show. Not only did the show not work out but the channel went to shit too under Allen ownership. I would try to get back together with GMA if I were Sam Champion too.

  11. I guess Joe Torres no longer needs his glasses? Starting with the March 7th weekend newscast, he's been without them. Going to take a while to get accustomed to it.

  12. Somehow Mr.G has survived any and all rounds of cuts and changes.

  13. I like John, so hoping he lands on his feet…Good Day New York would be nice! What a shame though for everyone involved…hopefully nobody else loses their job! Please wrap Kaity in bubble wrap, as she is the best over there still after all these years!

  14. Sade and Mike anchored a special Sunday 7pm hour of EWN, then anchored the 11pm hour with Lee Goldberg on weather. 4am start for Lee Goldberg, Brittany Bell and Dani Beckstrom. Pretty cool to see Lee with Shirleen, Pedro and Heather. Sade and Mike back for a special 2pm EWN. Channel 7’s coverage has been incredible.

  15. It's a shame that he didn't get the chance to say goodbye to viewers on air considering his long time there, although very few departures at PIX have happened in a graceful, mutual way (the only exception I can think of was Tamsen Fadal, who got a huge cake and everything when she left). Nearly all the others were sudden absences (Byron Miranda, Alex Lee, Oji, Betty Nguyen). It seems the morning show is particularly unstable

  16. Craig Treadway says goodbye to WPIX, after over a quarter-century. Most of that time was spent as part of the PIX11 Morning News crew.

  18. New round of layoffs... According to our Nexstar source, there were two additional on-air talent let go, this week, in addition to DiLorenzo. Kendis Gibson, anchor, the 3rd of the 4 evening anchors to get the boot Kala Rama, anchor/reporter, and DiLorenzo's wife

  19. For those not aware, WGN dismissed 9 anchors/reporters yesterday, and KTLA knocked out at least 3 on-air talent, as well. Now, after confirmation from a Nexstar source, WPIX has made some high profile cuts of their own. Gone as of today are: Kori Chambers, lead/late co-anchor Arrianee Lebeau, early evening co-anchor John Muller, weekend morning & original weekday morning co-anchor There could be more, but those are the only names we have, at this time.

  20. Every one is a news anchor now I see I’m in college I’m having second thoughts about entering this really unattractive business. Maybe I could start my own platform that’s the future anyways. I’ve also thought about meteorology FOX5 literally has a weather presenter with no meteorological training doing there weather and is 29 years old, I think you know who I’m talking about and I’m mixed about her. I prefer to get a degree, not get a job because of looks. And this is market #1 we’re talking about god I hate New York, I could go on a full on rant about the nations 2 largest cities both of them… I’ll just keep it too myself.
