  1. Am I losing my mind for actually really liking that new logo?

  2. Yep, new graphics in place at the mothership on WCPO, which has now rebranded their newscasts from "9 On Your Side" to just "WCPO 9 News"

  3. This is what KGUN's logo should've been.

  4. The only problem I had with any of the graphics was the attempt to use a typeface that approximates the team logo, especially when one was incredibly bland (Chiefs) and one was garishly ugly (49ers). (That's not a statement on the teams, just their logo typeface.) Other than that, I didn't really have a problem with anything else. I was actually amused by the video game like animation when there was a score increase - I liked that. I didn't even have a problem with the large touchdown graphic. Everything seemed clean and well integrated, other than the team logo typeface thing as mentioned before. It also had more visual interest than the clean but somewhat boring flat look FOX Sports graphics they normally use.

  8. Just for fun, here's a bagful of mic flags from Nexstar at the Super Bowl. They will have done more than 1,600 live shots by the end of Sunday.

  10. I'm not even sure what Gray is thinking here (IF they are even thinking at all) That and now all of the sudden KEYC is influenced by Tegna. This could very well end up being an epic disaster at KEYC.

  11. PIX has been using the new website design since December.

  12. What a downgrade of a logo for KEYC. As if the WFAA Tegna-ified logo wasn't bad enough...

  13. Happy to help, I'm actually not that surprised to see Tribune influence at Scripps (it's fitting considering that Scripps did buy the conflicts in the Tribune-Nexstar deal)

  18. Most likely from one of their little flashcam setups. Perfectly acceptable for a solo anchor, but not co-anchors. With ABC News LIVE relaunching this evening, I would bet WNT will remain in the same spot as over the weekend.

  20. Love this guy. One of the best at WGN. I'd watch him more during his 9:00 p.m. run than his midday run honestly but his style is next-to-amazing. Its nothing like it and its why he's so beloved at WGN and with Chicagoland viewers. It'll be sad to see him go, but he deserves retirement in every single sense of that word. Plus, he'll still be peforming too as he's a musician. As heartbreaking and emotional it will be on his final day, it will be more so once Skilling retires.

  21. I like it fine and don't think it's as awful as many are saying, but then again, this site tends to hate anything new nowadays. My biggest gripe are the player stat line in the score bug is too small and transparent. They need to lower the opacity at least. The second gripe is the down and distance indicator on the field is very hard to see. If their goal was to make it appear as if it's painted on the field, they succeeded in making it look like it hadn't been repainted all season.

  22. Not sure if it was mentioned here, but these were designed by Drive : https://www.instagram.com/drivestudio/ | http://drivestudio.com/ They were trying to emulate video game graphics which kinda makes sense. It does have a Madden feel to it, especially that Touchdown graphic. That said, I usually love Drive's work - this one missed the mark for me.

  23. This. Some of these might see changes next year, but this is the bullshit we'll get to look forward to. Yikes.

  24. I'm a fan of the new look overall. The previous look was too bland and did not present the energy that you think of when you think of Fox. The touchdown graphics are definitely huge but do the trick if you're watching in a bar and not directly in front of a screen.

  25. No new graphics on Fox 8 tonight...... Why do they need a new set, when they just got that a few years ago?

  26. My gripe is that none of this feels like Fox. A cheap NBC style, unorthodox like ESPN, though I still don't hate it. I could live with the touchdown animation, but those comic book-looking illustrations of the players are so stupid, especially since they don't have renderings of some players. Luckily, that's a very specific thing that could be too complicated to replicate league-wide.

  27. I like the graphics. Surprised some are saying that it's a downgrade from the previous look. There should be plenty of tweaks before the 2020 NFL season begins and as they make their way to other properties, I think.

  30. Big retirement in Houston. Bill Balleza left KPRC Friday night after 4 decades. He joined the station in 1980 as an anchor/reporter and had been the primary evening anchor since 1990. 35. Sad to see her go, she was part of the most-versed and well-rounded panel that The View has ever had. This team has been firing on all cylinders and it has made for lively debates and conversation, you can really tell that they know what they were talking about and knew how to naturally be themselves, you can tell that they weren't simply rephrasing talking points spoonfed by producers. On Monday, she seemed to have kept the idea or returning open, so I wouldn't be surprised if she comes back after her father's campaign ends in June. As for all the rumors coming from Page Six, I feel like The View tends to get more publicity from inner conflicts just because the public likes to see a good catfight when it's between women. All workplaces and shows have conflict, it's the nature of the business, but you hardly hear anything coming from an all-guys team on The NFL Today or Fox NFL Sunday, it's a double standard unfortunately.

  38. DANG! The Cancellation Bear gets cancelled. A unlikely victim of the Tribune acquisition, TV By the Numbers: https://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/more-tv-news/the-end/ So unfortunate, but I guess Marc Berman will be my go-to for morning after primetime ratings releases for now on.

  40. The only executive ever in the industry who ran ABC, CBS + NBC in a television landscape that was run basically by those aforementioned networks has passed away thursday at age 82. Fred Silverman was also a TV Producer with a life only some hotshots could only dream of. Who knew the infamous 'rural purge' could lead to programming greatness? I could list a slew of hit shows he launched but I could list some bombs as well. (Hello, Supertrain, Pink lady + Jeff?) Deadline explains it all below. There aren't many of his like out these days, let alone any executive. Godspeed, Mr Silverman: https://deadline.com/2020/01/fred-silverman-dies-legendary-tv-executive-producer-was-82-1202847035/
