  1. Hello everyone, Our latest episode, extremely proud of it and how it turned out! We returned to using the green screen in part for the headlines, with the background based off of how CNN uses studio A/B for News Central, also in love with the updated set and how it flows on air.

  3. Just noticed this. KTVN got the new look. Is this the first station out of the station group to get the package?

  5. Wow, this is the first time I’m seeing this project, but it looks fantastic! Seems like a wonderful way to introduce high school kids to video journalism (and journalism in general). They certainly seem really enthusiastic about it. Good for you guys.

  7. Looks better than the O&O implementation. Less in your face with the eye and CBS name. But close enough you pick up the cues it’s related to the network news parent.

  8. The small details matter! I’m very pleased to see that WABC is using an alternate talent intro for Friday 6pm shows that feature Sam Ryan instead of Ryan Field.

  9. Elex Michaelson and Christine Devine just announced on the News at 5 that on Monday, FOX 11 will start two new shows, GDLA Plus on FOX 11 Plus (KCOP) at 11am and “Good Nite LA” at 11pm with 6pm anchor Marla Tellez. Those shows will have a different approach to the news of the day compared to the regular newscasts. Seems like they are trying to compete with the other stations in those timeslots.

  10. It sounds like he is preparing for retirement by being sure to transfer his knowledge across the group. I don't think he will have any on air role going forward. With his experience, it is well deserved.

  12. So you're just taking the spin at face value. Remind me to never put you in an investigative role.

  13. Since all the episodes are available on-demand lately it's probably more that than anything rather than CBS mob-tacting them; at the end of the day it's yet another 'if you haven't seen it, it's new to you' syndicated package that fills an easy hour and captures the audience which doesn't want to deal with Freevee. And it certainly isn't original content in 2024. What is CBS going to do, take away their Dr. Phil reruns? No, not the Dr. Phil reruns from 2018 we air at 4am anyways that OWN and Pluto also air and will clog Merit Street soon, please don't take those.

  19. Hello everyone, Posting on this thread not because of another newscast but because I'm looking for possible help, with our "set". We of course are always wanting to improve our product, that's why we've changed graphics, cameras, etc, One of the ways which we feel that we really haven't improved on when we should, is the set, just four white walls, a monitor, and windows, but that's kind of hard with a non-existent budget. Could anyone perhaps be of assistance to see if any stations or networks (so I guess I mean the cable ones by that, has CNN completely vacated the CNN center, wonder what happened to studio 7) in our area (outside of Atlanta but of course it seems like the ATL stations won't be getting a new set anytime soon), so roughly most of Georgia, are on a temporary set or have some spare set species they would be willing to give up? Thanks for any and all advice and feedback as always!

  20. I tuned into the Today show this morning for the first time in quite a while. I have some questions: Why is there both a “cold open” AND a “warm open” at the very start of the broadcast at 7:00 AM Eastern? It seems rather redundant. From 8:00 AM to the first commercial break, all of the news headlines are accompanied by a graphic that reads “the news at 8”. Why is this? Doesn’t the viewer know it’s 8 AM? It seems kinda tacky to me.

  21. Last week, the newscast wasn't on YouTube, and this week, the reporters have been running the show, and their inexperience at anchoring clearly shows. They had a local actress, Geovonna Casanova, anchor a couple of days, and she was not much better. I'm not sure if Austin Reed is taking some vacation, out for other reasons, or gone completely, and appreciate people exerting an effort, but it is not good.
