Don't quote me on this but I think certain elements may have been syndicated. Is this what you mean by the ring open? Also, it's worth checking out this website Television by Design. They made the Hearst package along with many others during the 90s and early 2000s.

I'm slightly confused are they in a "temporary set" in their previous studio or in the other studio?
-
I didn't know there were any still. I knew there were some during the Live Well era. I figure if they are moving a temp set in the studio it must not be used that much and able to get a fresh build.
-
It was briefly mentioned in another thread. Apparently its buggy and when it crashes they're SOL.
-
Their two studios are the same size. Why would they go through the effort to move existing elements of the old set in the old studio into an empty studio across the hall? Would be a lot easier if they built the set in the empty studio.

The Preakness is here and so are WBAL's outside broadcasts and specials. Here's a peak behind the scenes.

Not a big deal but looks like a new newsdesk is debuting for Velshi and Ruhle.

Maybe they installed Tribunes new equipment?
-
Didn't know they moved to static camera positions. I'm watching a tour and they mentioned a JITA cam (assume they mean jib in the air) that does the overhead studio shots. So does that position move?
-
I'd make them use their cell phones.

ION's WPXN appears to be the first broadcaster to move to One World Trade Center. They will star broadcasting from the tower in the fourth quarter 2017. On May 8th WNJU, WNBC, WCBS and WNET started transmission tests.

I understand some of their concerns - there should be a prompter and an off air monitor at the minimum. They could have handled it much differently. As for things like the factoids or famous moments they talk about - they should do their research. I understand there are things that are expected to be prepared but they are the anchors of the show. This is an event they knew ahead of time and they should be brushing up on it. They should do their homework. It's not like they are being asked to do play by play. Hell if they can't be bothered they should download media guide or even Wikipedia which is filled with on facts.

Should be "Dateline: White House"

Joe was not in the studio today but rather remote. I think he has one of those insert studios at his house. Anyway I missed most of the show however I did catch the end. Mika was gesticulating with her left hand and said "a lot happened this week. I got a fondue maker".

I think they could easily be replaced. It's essentially the same show as Imus was minus the racist remarks and radio games.

Itnteresting article about the changes Andy Lack has made at MSNBC and some of the detrimental effects. Some include decrease in ratings in show changes made the Lack of diversity. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/andy-lack-msnbc-donald-trump_us_5907422de4b0bb2d086fb7a8?ncid=APPLENEWS00001

A while back it was posted that Denise Koch will no longer anchor WJZ's 11PM newscasts. Well as I guessed Mary Bubala has been named as her replacement at 11 PM. She started this past Monday.

I brought it up because with automation nowadays you can easily have a simulcast that outputs two different graphics packages.
-
I'm happy for Nicole. Getting fired from The View seems to have been the best thing for her. She's smart and personable. Additionally she's the type of conservative that is not obnoxious (out of those on TV) and is able make you understand her perspective.
-
Looks like that mistake occurred when NBC Boston was live. Do they simulcast the newscasts? If so I wonder if. The mistake went out on both channels
-
No it just seems like an odd thing to do - broadcast from a WaWa? I thought WCAU was going a more serious tone and then they do this. Just seems like something their sales department dreamed up.
-
So does NBC10 have a deal with WaWa. Today they broadcast from one and looks like they're asking viewers which one to broadcast from next. This seems like something I'm not comfortable with.

If they were going to do that I'd guess that they would just add her to the panel or as as co moderator while still doing Today like George Stephanopoulos. They could give her Fridays off an have Hoda fill in. I don't think Today and NBC is willing to screw up a format that has been working and has increased their numbers. With CBS This Morning closing in it would be dangerous to make radical changes just yet. That being said Chuck and Savannah aka Chuvannah had great chemistry together when they did The Daily Rundown on MSNBC.

Oh please. It was just a baby shower. And that cake looks tasty.

WMOR, the Hearst owned independent station that does not produce news, is launching a new original TV series called Chronicle. The show looks like it will follow WCVB's Chronicle style featuring interviews from Tampa's business, sports and entertainment industry. The show will be hosted by John Wilson. I wonder if this is the start of them launching a new news product in the nations 11th largest market.
