1. They could if she wanted to maintain her job and a certain lifestyle.
2. Comcast is good to us. Rare outages - if they happen they're in the middle of the night and any issues are resolved quickly. I got a number of the regional QA guy and when I got the wrong CableCard (I needed the M-Card) at their store I called the man up and they sent their best guy out a day later. I will say I did get the number after getting HD boxes and my firs HD TiVo in 2007 and 2008, respectively. The first TiVo was a nightmare to get installed and at the time I was still underage so my parents sent a BCC email to about twenty people in the Comcast board and higher up management. I believe we got a call from one of the Roberts, four free on demand passes, and two or three tins of gourmet popcorn from a place in Philadelphia.
3. WRC/NBC Washington is launching 4 Respondes where you call a hotline, leave a message or speak with someone and they'll do their best to get answers for you. Seems to be model on the Telemundo Respondes initiative. The b-roll video they showed a large call center with NBC Consumer Investigative Center with their consumer anchor sitting at a desk with a crappy NBC 4 logo as the desktop. If I had to guess the calls go to some national call center (the b-roll showed what looked like new office) that was set up to handle these issues. I wonder how they'll handle Comcast problems? http://www.nbcwashington.com/investigations/NBC4-Responds-377669201.html Edit: Same exact offices at WNBC. http://www.nbcnewyork.com/on-air/as-seen-on/Better-Get-Baquero-launches-a-Consumer-Investigative-Center_New-York-368883891.html
4. Thanks. I can comprehend what's said to some extent but not confident enough to write/speak in Spanish. I'm out of practice - haven't had to speak in Spanish for six years.
5. Maybe they'd have her do the west coast updates?
6. Your right. I was basing it off of his Twitter bio and the fact he anchored for three or four weeks straight.
7. Anyone know what's happening on Telemundo for June 17, 2017? There's this countdown clock in the video:
8. David Shuster who was indefinitely suspended from MSNBC in April 2010* for taping pilot episodes for CNN appeared for a block on Morning Joe today. I believe he was solely brought on because she he's a native of Indianna to discuss legendary basketball coach Bob Knight's endorsement of Donald Trump. I wonder if MSNBC and Shuster are warming up again with CurrentTV / Al Jazeera America being gone. I only make this comment because there has to be tons of people they could of talked to about the endorsement but they chose to bring on an anchor who left the network in unfavorable circumstances for a fifteen minute conversation. Hell when Chris Licht (former EP/ co-creator of Morning Joe) accompaniend Gayle King and Charlie Rose as CBS This Morning EP to Late Night with Seth Meyers he was placed on a list of names that require Phil Griffins permission to get into 30 Rock. *I don't know when he officially left the network but he started subbing in for Keith Olberman for Countdown at CurrentTV in June 2011.
9. WBOC got a new helicopter in the past month an R44 Newscopter. They nicknamed it Chomper 16 because of the the teeth painted onto its hull. It's an HD bird replacing their Bell 206. http://www.delmarvalife.com/delmarvalife/wboc-big-secret-reveal-thats-going-to-blow-you-away/ https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=10154072505169539
10. Worth a read from Hurrican Schartz about their new graphics and ten day forecasts. http://www.nbcphiladelphia.com/news/local/10-Day-Outlook-Weather-Explanation-Philadelphia-Pennsylvania-Delaware-New-Jersey-376449571.html
11. A group would not sell off their biggest stations which bring in the most money. There's a reason why when NBC put WTVJ and WVIT on the market (and obviously off) and not any of their Top 10.
12. The layoffs are a drop in the bucket. I'm guessing they'll make a decent dent if they sell their duopoly channels in the spectrum auction.
13. I guess that makes sense as they bought out their contract and I assume they start early retirement?
14. I assume the buyout includes a non compete clause?
15. Sometimes I have difficulty editing posts, but here's a screen grab showing said desk. Was wrong about its shape - but still looks odd to me.
16. They likely will be on the chopping block come layoffs. http://www.forbes.com/sites/susanadams/2012/08/14/when-should-you-take-a-job-buyout/#511ca8306492
17. Yeah - I only think WBAL airs them for a half hour at 4:30 AM Saturday and Sunday morning before the news and maybe one slot on Sunday before sports.
18. I finally saw the desk where the anchor has the back to the newsroom and it looks awkward and done on the cheap. Theres room for two anchors and on each side where the anchors there's this bulge for guests. If I had to characterize it I would describe it like the side of the wrench where the flat part closest to the handle holds the anchor and connected to that is where the guest will go. MSNBC did have a new show today at 4PM - not sure if it was a special but it was branded Road Warriors with their embeds Kristin Welker, Katy Tur, Hallie Jackson and Kasie Hunt were joined by Steve Kornacki at a park with a dramatic view of the Brooklyn Bridge. It was an interesting discussion and could see this becoming s regular thing.
19. To me it's more of just using what KNTV has. They have the same layout with the different webcam views and ticker bar at the bottom complete with WeatherUnderground branding. Since WeatherUnderground is a division to The Weather Company I guess they're including this as one of the additional services akin to when WeatherBug provided hyper local forecasts. Their zones are cover a Significant area in their own right. They have Philadelphia, PA Sububurbs, South Jersey, Jersey Shore, Delaware, Lehigh Valley
20. Yeah, I'm watching right now - most of the regions days aren't populated at the bottom of the screen. Didn't WPVI have a side bar for a while last year?

22. Looks real. Check out this video for Dr. Oz from KTVU's Vimeo account:
23. It wasn't reuploaded by YouTube - they probably got it from FTVLive who uploaded it to his own site and MediaITe took that as well. Not worth the hassle. Still somehow got 15K views. It was something of a chyron screw up during way too early where the stock ticker only displayed some very weird dummy text.
24. I imagine they see a future for this type of thing. Last year NBCU invested $200 million into Buzzfeed which is almost all listicles and a majority of their content comes from other sources (gifts and YouTube* videos). I think they see there's future in well produced sponsored content like what BuzzFeed frequently does. *Still kind of pissed they lifted a video from my YouTube and posted it as their own.
