Covering 31 Masters and countless breaking news stories in Augusta must've been enough for Richard Rogers at WRDW/WAGT. He has now officially retired as of almost 90 minutes ago. https://www.wrdw.com/2024/10/22/wrdw-tvwagt-tv-anchor-richard-rogers-retire/

Yes. He did well in evenings in my market at WSVN 7 for a good number of years. I think he has what it takes.

Just saw this on WCJB as they suffered through technical difficulties at the end of tonight's delayed 11pm news. They were airing paid programming as temporarily breakfiller before joining ABC's feed for JKL.

The Ever-Evolving Gray Graphics Situation...Thread
TheRolyPoly replied to NEOMatrix's topic in Graphics
I'm in Gainesville once again for a vacation trip (for a week+) and I'm currently watching WCJB at the moment. They have launched GrayONE but ONLY (emphasizing this) on promos, idents, and select bumpers, such as promoting their free news and weather apps during their newscasts, so its more of a soft launch than anything else. Old graphics still dominate everything else, including the weather. It tells me that WCJB is taking a cautious approach to launching GrayONE and that it will be great once they do (compared to their current look which even now is an improvement from their last look, the last Diversified look they had). -
A big loss in Michiana television and one I was stunned to learn of today. WSBT and later WBND's Jennifer Copeland has passed away after battling ovarian cancer. The tragic part in all of this... she was only 46. https://www.abc57.com/news/star-michiana-anchor-jennifer-copeland-passes-away-at-46-10-18-24

For 22 years, Spectrum News 1 has delivered news to those in North Carolina. The other Carolina, South Carolina, is about to experience what North Carolina has had that entire time. https://tvnewscheck.com/journalism/article/spectrum-news-expands-debuting-new-network-in-south-carolina/

I didn't know where else to put this so I'm putting it here. SiriusXM has added Dateline NBC 24/7 on SXM 107 and NBC News NOW on streaming 798. NBC News NOW is the first streaming news network (albeit on streaming/online, ironically enough) to land a spot on SiriusXM's lineup. ABC News LIVE, CBS News 24/7, or LiveNOW from FOX have yet to land spots on the service.

We have a HUGE retirement in Toledo coming up at WTVG. After 40 years with the station and currently anchoring their 12 Noon, 5:00, and 6:00pm newscasts, Diane Larson calls it a career. The longtime duo of Diane Larson and Lee Conklin will be broken up on her last day... Nov. 14th at 6:00pm. https://www.13abc.com/2024/10/16/13-action-news-anchor-diane-larson-retire-november/

KAKM (via Alaska Public Media) is buying KTVA.

And yet, WZZM is letting Samantha Jacques take over. Hell, even if Terri were to join WZZM and become Chief, she would still follow Sam's route in still doing it in the morning. Also, remember that it says that she's only doing it three days a week so she wants it part-time to then do other things in her life so I don't think WZZM was in the cards for her.

Canada This is THE coolest thing ever. You know you've made it when your country's postal service creates a stamp after you or something culturally significant. In this case... Canada's first-ever 24-hour music video channels (English in 1984; French in 1986) took Canada by storm and changed the way Canadians accessed music on television. Ladies and gentlemen... Canada Post stamps for MuchMusic and MusiquePlus. https://store.canadapost-postescanada.ca/store-boutique/en/414262111/p/muchmusic-musiqueplus-2024-permanent-domestic-rate-stamps-booklet-of-8
