They hired Troy Bridges.. why aren't they using him?
-
I've been wondering -- how many people actually notice things like this?? Is it really as big of a deal as many of you make it out to be?

Sinclair Broadcast Group - General Discussion

I have a pretty good idea she will be steering clear from any Sinclair stations.... -
Sinclair Broadcast Group - General Discussion
MichiganNewsGraphicsJunkie replied to Smitha A's topic in Corporate Chat
Should be noted, she was sacked by WJAR -- so to be sacked by the same company, twice -- has got to hurt -
New Cox Group Graphics Package
MichiganNewsGraphicsJunkie replied to ATLNewsExpert's topic in Graphics
Minor update -- the weather graphics got refreshed.. I'd call this a refresh of the WSB graphics, as they've added more angular/diagrid looks and the 7-days are definitely a refresh of WSB's... -
I thought we weren't allowed to post stuff from Studio 31 because of past issues??

Why are outrageously large anchor desks becoming a thing again??

But... but... the neighborhood reporters....

Nexstar to acquire Tegna
MichiganNewsGraphicsJunkie replied to Recovering Producer's topic in General TV
Agreed... This particular topic of CBS programming issues/debates/cancellations/etc should be moved to the CBS forum or the Speculatron... -
Bumping this thread... KIAH (CW 39 Houston) got their version of the KRON graphics, along with an updated logo and branding.

WXIN Fox 59 New Graphics
MichiganNewsGraphicsJunkie replied to MichiganNewsGraphicsJunkie's topic in Graphics
Bah, per usual, they botched it... Looks horrendous.. I hope this is just a tease and will be fixed -
What I don't get is why they didn't change the branding when they debuted the new graphics pacakge??
-
I had a feeling Troy Bridges was just at WWJ to fill-in and learn the systems before moving to WUPA.

Nexstar to acquire Tegna
MichiganNewsGraphicsJunkie replied to Recovering Producer's topic in General TV
If you read above, that may not even matter... Gray is getting away with it in multiple markets with the Allen purchase... They'll either merge or sell... But may not be forced to.. I posted and hid the same thing a few days ago and was heckled to death about it -
Well, it wouldn't work under their current naming protocols... it's cbsnews.com/MARKETNAMEHERE... it would never have been cbsatlanta.com
-
Now confirmed: the official website will be https://www.cbsnews.com/atlanta as I mentioned in an earlier post. Right now, it shows as coming soon...

Didn't this happen with WWJ as well?
-
WABC's Dan Krauth is also promoting ABC Miami, as he was a former reporter for WTVJ

One thing that does kinda bother me just a little is the size of the weather icons... When it's just the sun icon, it gives me the feeling it's going to be a blazing "desert-like" sun... They could scale them down just a smidge...

The biggest difference by far is WCVB kept the diagrid "slants" in the graphics. WBBH/WZVN's are def boxier with elements of diagrid. Even the animated backgrounds are different -- looks like WBBH/WZVN kept the current animated backgrounds with the bluey/yellows, and WCVB is more modern with the "stripey" things on the left side there... With that being said and from what I can see, WCVB's is by far more easier to read and easier on the eyes IMO...

WPSD is moving to a new building.
MichiganNewsGraphicsJunkie replied to TheRolyPoly's topic in Sets & Studios
Very disappointing that the graphics didn't get updated... they just look out of place on such a nice new set... -
I've been watching KGUN and WSYM and man it's painful to watch... Such a shame... I was hoping that being in a top 50 market, WXMI would escape it...
-
In a story that I can't link to, due to the website not allowed to be linked on here, Scripps says that the implementation of the new package will be "aggressive", based on technical considerations... Also they claim that audience feedback has been "beyond expectations"... So we shall see what "aggressive" brings us in the upcoming weeks/months...

As this enterprise starts to go into full swing, they've been making announcements on their Facebook page about their meteorologist team additions. And boy, do they have some big hitters coming... Many names you'll recognize as past colleagues with ABC 33/40: Charles Daniel Ashley Brand John Oldshue Bill Murray Drew McCombs
