MediaZone4K 2235 Posted December 13, 2024 Posted December 13, 2024 (edited) Chuck's last newscast was good, and he had a poignant commentary at the end. Especially loved his speech from his 50th anniversary dinner in which he challenged his coworkers to absorb the gravity of where they work.  There was a distinct lack of Sue Simmons in tonight's newscast. I was hoping for a pre-taped tribute, or an in-person appearance like she did for Gabe Pressman's death. At least we got a full conversation between the pair during his 50th Anniversary Special.  Edited December 13, 2024 by MediaZone4K 3
bob mercier 3 Posted December 13, 2024 Posted December 13, 2024 oh, yeah i watched chuck scarborough's final newscast, and it was a great closing speech he gave, but, Â it's disappointing that sue simmons did not appear. 2 1

mooneyhill1 11 Posted December 18, 2024 Posted December 18, 2024 But will Chuck Scarborough be a special correspondent/senior reporter and special projects for WNBC-TV? 1

TheNewsTV 257 Posted December 28, 2024 Posted December 28, 2024 I know we're on a special schedule due to the holiday, but Gilma Avalos had a very long day today. She presented the news at 11am, 4pm, 5pm and 6pm. 1

J.W. Rodriguez 17 Posted April 15 Posted April 15 Obviously not the first time NBC has used talent from their key station on a national level 1
Newsjunker95 32 Posted April 15 Posted April 15 It happened with Shiba Russell in 2016. Natalie returned for 11:00pm tonight 1
GraphicsMan 126 Posted April 15 Posted April 15 (edited) This happens a lot one of the perks of working in New York local news station you can appear on national news. And if you’re really lucky you can land a spot like Al Roker and Matt  Lauer did. On 1/7/2025 at 8:39 PM, IceManNYR said: That explains why MSNBC has been using that new studio. Not so new anymore since MSNBC has been using it. Edited April 15 by GraphicsMan 2

Chris Cimino did weekend Today weather.  Al Roker.  Matt Lauer was doing both TINY and Today at first.  WNBC investigative reporter Jonathan Dienst shows up often on the network and for now, MSNBC. It's not what I would call an exception for NBC.   Interesting Natalie was off at 4 and 6 but was on the 11 pm news.  1
