Should be interesting to see if/how this shifts their weather lineup Scott did 5:00, and Vanessa did 6:00 (which is supposedly Scott's show, along with 8:00).
Horizon 300 Posted July 2, 2025 Posted July 2, 2025 (edited) A little bit of a tidbit for everyone. This week is the 4th of July holiday. It's known that employees can take a week of vacation. So wait about a week after, and if Johnson and Quinn are still off, then maybe that'll be where suspicions can be raised a little bit. Edited July 2, 2025 by Horizon 2 3

Heck, with everything going on at CBS at all levels, the dust may not settle on the talent moves until the fall...or longer. 1

I wonder if she's in line to take over, and if that would affect her duties anchoring the morning news. Eva Pilgrim got the job. She obviously left ABC after they reworked GMA3 and started using regular GMA hosts. On 6/30/2025 at 5:51 PM, NYNewsCoverage said: Scott Padget debuted today at 5pm. Seemed odd, I haven't seen that sort of welcome on other stations. Edited July 8, 2025 by MisterBill 3
Horizon 300 Posted July 9, 2025 Posted July 9, 2025 Jessica Moore will officially replace Maurice DuBois as 5pm anchor, effective immediately 3 1

I've noticed that Dick Brennan now seems to be the semi-permanent anchor of the 8pm, so it would make sense for Jessica to do the 5pm and 8pm, but we'll see if that happens. I suppose the question becomes who replaces her on the weekend shows. Perhaps Dick Brennan, Allen Devlin, Natalie Dudridge, or an outsider. 1

Geoffrey 958 Posted July 9, 2025 Posted July 9, 2025 Congratulations to Jessica. It seemed like she was the favored internal candidate as she was doing it three nights during the week while she was still doing weekends. I'm still surprised that it took them half a year to make it official, and it makes me wonder how seriously they might have been looking at external options. Not a fan of the solo anchor thing, especially at 11pm. 1 1

TheRolyPoly 3510 Posted July 21, 2025 Posted July 21, 2025 It shows the kind of impact you made when you're still remembered after you passed away. That's Elise Finch and WCBS remembered this last week two years after her passing. What a continued sweet gesture. 1 3

MisterBill 128 Posted August 24, 2025 Posted August 24, 2025 (edited) It appears that Elaine Quijano has left the weekend morning anchor slot and moved back to the network, and Jenna DeAngelis has gotten the job. Or at least she's been on for three weeks and isn't saying she's "in for" anyone. Or it could be that she's got the job until they bring someone else in. Edited August 24, 2025 by MisterBill 1

This is the fourth weekend in a row without Elaine. It was kind of an odd choice, especially since she did nothing for WCBS other than anchor Saturday and Sunday mornings. While Jenna DeAngelis has filled in most of the time, this morning Lisa Rozner is anchoring with Dave Carlin. They should have just kept Andrea Grymes! 1 1

Yes, I came back to point out that Lisa was on today and also did not say "in for" in her intro. And yes, they never should have gotten rid of Andrea, and Elaine was an odd choice. TheNewsTV 342 Posted August 24, 2025 Posted August 24, 2025 It is also necessary to define who will be the weekend night anchor. 1
NYNewsCoverage 337 Posted August 25, 2025 Posted August 25, 2025 Agreed 100%, getting rid of Andrea was a giant mistake. She was well-loved by her colleagues and viewers. I have no doubt she will end up somewhere great soon. Elaine is fine, but doesn't nearly have the personality and authenticity that Andrea had. As for the weeknight job, it would be nice to see Natalie Dudridge either get the morning or night role. I wouldn't say that Elaine is gone just yet, I've noticed during anchor intros over the last 2 months that WCBS has stopped altogether saying "in for ..." (except for meteorologists). Don't know why, but it's something noticeable. That is why Kristine was never mentioned when she was on vacation for ~ 3 weeks. Perhaps it is to de-emphasize the anchor? 1 1

Unless Elaine wanted to retain some network duties, it was strange to utilize a network talent only on weekend mornings. i'm surprised they didn't put Elaine in the slots vacated by Dana Tyler, or later on Maurice Dubois. 1

bc485 97 Posted September 19, 2025 Posted September 19, 2025 Aziza Shuler, most recently the weekend evening anchor at KYW/CBS News Philadelphia, has joined WCBS/CBS News New York. She reported Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday this week on the morning newscast. She was welcomed on Thursday morning. I am speculating that she was brought in to replace Elaine Quijano on weekend mornings alongside Doug Williams. I guess we will have to wait and see!

NYNewsCoverage 337 Posted September 29, 2025 Posted September 29, 2025 Jessica Moore returned to her old timeslot and anchored the 11pm with Allen Devlin tonight. Not sure if it was planned to have 2 anchors after football, but was likely due to news of Adams dropping out? Seems to follow the trend of having 2 anchors when a bigger story breaks.

Not sure what they did at 11 but WABC had Mike Marza in at 5 and 6 with Tanya. I would say Jessica was likely brought in because of Adams dropping out
TheNewsTV 342 Posted October 18, 2025 Posted October 18, 2025 (edited) Now officially, Aziza is the new co-anchor of weekend mornings. All that's missing is for WABC to have a definition for its weekend mornings now. Edited October 18, 2025 by TheNewsTV 1
