Dave Lampstein 124 Posted January 2 Posted January 2 In my experience, weather computer crash? That said most stations have at least 2 weather computers, probably more, so who knows.
HanSolo 189 Posted January 3 Posted January 3 Perhaps they needed time to get coverage or for Cecily to be able to go on if she was still there.

rear_flank 43 Posted January 15 Posted January 15 Did Channel 6 already give up on that new radar they installed last year near Lancaster? Nobody has mentioned it in a long while on the newscasts.

WGAL still on occasion airs their Live Local 8 radar promo (brand that replaced Live Super Doppler 8 Radar Network) from time to time. -- Matt 1
HanSolo 189 Posted January 15 Posted January 15 They made their point and don’t keep mentioning it perhaps? If it has reason to come up in a weather segment sure, maybe it’s worked in occasionally. But they ran a fairly extensive promo campaign for it and made mention multiple times in those segments. Maybe it’s just time to stop emphasizing it. 1
Mrknowitall526 116 Posted January 16 Posted January 16 I think I heard Adam Joseph mention it recently, something like "This was captured by our Lancaster radar"

Just not something they need to emphasize as hard as they did initially. 1
ekt8750 50 Posted January 18 Posted January 18 Just look for the sweep on the map when they pull up the live radar.

HanSolo 189 Posted January 20 Posted January 20 This most recent storm was an example of when it makes sense to work it in. Plenty of days it won’t be relevant.
TheRolyPoly 2599 Posted January 30 Posted January 30 For those who are fans of Abbott Elementary, you may see one Alicia Vitarelli tonight. https://www.instagram.com/p/DFbH88cAaEc/?igsh=dWxpajR1aTlldGpt 1
HanSolo 189 Posted January 30 Posted January 30 Think that would be three in a row. last week was a tiny visual cameo, but the first was a clip with voice. 1
FJ2000 5 Posted January 30 Posted January 30 Since the start of this week, WPVI is showing Good Morning America First Look at 4 am. Action News now doesn't start until 4:30 am. The only Philadelphia station live at 4 am is Fox 29. 1
wofchristian 46 Posted February 6 Posted February 6 6abc posted an in depth video about the new set. https://6abc.com/videoClip/15868410/ 3 1
rear_flank 43 Posted February 14 Posted February 14 6abc is using a mix of old and new graphics for the Eagles parade. The clock is from the old package and the lower third is new (not the usual one used for newscasts). 1
phillynewslover 136 Posted February 14 Posted February 14 PHL17 is simulcasting 6abc's coverage of the parade. I think this is the first time I've seen them broadcast Action News outside of the 10:00 show. 1
