The Sinclair-ization thread

Doesn't really shock me. Sinclair does seem to rely on fear for viewership. Just look at all those Town Halls they have and how they always seem to involve topics that are supposed to generate fear.

Consider the audience they trying to appeal to...people who watch FNC and the like eat this stuff up.

Surprised they didn't put Sharyl "Obama Hacked Me" Attkisson at the desk...

Forgive me if this was posted before ... but Sinclair ...

Terrorism Alert Desk?? Way to give into fear!!

-- Matt

Sounds too stuoid for even Fox News to do.

Since when did they have the terrorism alert desk?

When they decided to use the WJLA news set, have an American flag in the background (because somehow that has something to do with terrorism), and use a WJLA anchor to anchor from the desk.

Fear sells.

But that is a WJLA anchor... Jonathan Elias who joined the station a few months ago from WBZ-TV.

Makes me wonder if Julian Smith (Sinclair is his middle name) had any contact with Rupert Murdoch back in the 80s

Yeah? And?

Sorry. Somebody was questioning about that about using a WJLA anchor to use the desk when in fact, they did.

Thank God that WPGH dosen't have a news department anymore. Otherwise:

"This Terror Alert is brought to you by Giant Eagle, the official supermarket of the War on Terror!"

Posted
This terror alert is sponsored by Ashley Madison, "Life is short, but it's a little too late to have an affair"

This terror alert is brought to you by the Weather Authority, we're forecasting a 90% chance of bombs?

Okay. This is getting silly.

Can we get back on topic without further derailing this thread?

Anyway, WTVC in Chattanooga has recently switched to the new web layout. Now I'm just waiting on WZTV to do the same.

The voice-over artist would have to pronounce it in the official Western Pennsylvania "Jyan' Iggle" dialect.

When are KVAL and KMTR going to get Sinclair-ized?

KMTR needs to go at least widescreen first. But most versions of the new graphics are 4x3 safe.

WGXA in Macon is STILL in 4x3...and the sad thing is that Morris-owned WMGT has been in HD for over a year now!

You know you're very behind when Morris beats you, which doesn't happen much at all...
