WFAA/ABC: Special Report anchored by George or David

KXAS/NBC: Special Report anchored by Lester Holt

KTVT/CBS: Special Report anchored by Scott Pelley

No. We're not doing this. Unless you live in Southern California, you're getting fed a national special report.

Done.

In Milwaukee WITI and WISN are with network special reports while WTMJ is airing their 4:30 newscasts and WDJT is bouncing between local news and CBS News.

All four stations are now on local news; WISN was the last to leave network at 5:02pm.

Apparently ABC affiliates have been notified that rolling news will likely go on until 8pm/7c.

KTVT went to local news. WFAA, KXAS, and KDFW are sticking with their respective networks.

Shep mentioned they are at 'Level 2' and that Fox stations had been wanting to pull away but elected to stick with the FNC simulcast.

EDIT: KDFW pulled away from FNC at top of the 5PM hour for local coverage. WFAA has followed suit. KXAS is staying with NBC.

CBS ended coverage at 5:20, FOX ended its Level 2 coverage and threw to Special Report at 6 for FNC. NBC and ABC are continuing special reports into the 6 PM hour for stations not in local news.

All three networks are going to hour-long evening newscasts tonight, as well.

Heres what happened In Sacramento.

KCRA Was back and forth between their news and the NBC Special Report

KXTV Was broadcasting the ABC Special Report

KOVR Was in a CBS Special Report

KUVS Was in a Special Report as well

KCSO Was In a Special Report

KMAX did not cover anything due to bill cunningham

KTXL Used Fox News Channel

KQCA did not cover anything due to Jerry Springer.

pretty much almost everyone was on about this including the cable networks also. even Local Cable News Stations like TWC News NY1, News 12 Long Island and Verizon Fios 1.

I know this takes a backseat when something like this happens.. But NBC here in NY (and east coast zones) has the Rockefeller Center Tree Lighting at 7.. How's that gonna work?

If it takes place at 7, then the rest of the nation must get it on an hour delay at 8/7C, no? If so, and if the whole ordeal is being partially resolved right now, might the New York market just get the national program and not the local angle?

ABC is going solid with KABC for a few minutes as George exits and David takes the desk. Lester and Scott are already on the air, though I don't know how they'll transition to the evening newscasts, or if they'll just brand as the special report.

All three went into evening newscast mode, but ABC went essentially straight back to KABC coverage. CBS and NBC after a few moments went into a taped report which seems a bit odd given the live events unfolding.

It's not uncommon for the networks to start fresh with the details and give a nice round-up the events for those just tuning in. If it's a taped piece, so be it.

If I understand correctly, WNBC airs a local hour from 7-8pm followed by the national hour at 8-9pm, essentially a preview show or extended coverage. My assumption is WNBC will go to their Special, considering the rest of the nation will still be getting NN.
