nathannah 2493 Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 That is some impressive (and subtle) creative right there, I love the use of the colors to easily suggest it's NBC without having to say it. Although I'm sure there are fun outtakes of that peacock not cooperating a bit.

Yeah I'm sure the upcoming switch to NBC had absolutely NOTHING to do with the decision.
mvcg66b3r 100 Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 Riiight...which is why WBTV was planning to air Colbert at it's scheduled time instead of preempting that one too. What about in Denver (KCNC)?
Darius22 122 Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 WNCN may end up switching to an Enforcer package due to its NBC Theme.
hathawaynson2 39 Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 WNCN may end up switching to an Enforcer package due to its NBC Theme. Better known as CBS Local
nickp 339 Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 WRAL NatGeo style peacock commercial is good
elfuego35 90 Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 WNCN may end up switching to an Enforcer package due to its NBC Theme. WNCN uses the standardized Media General music package.
hathawaynson2 39 Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 WNCN uses the standardized Media General music package. Nope, WNCN is using Canvas by Stephen Arnold. They used the Media General Standardization package from 2007 to 2013.
Darius22 122 Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 Nope, WNCN is using Canvas by Stephen Arnold. They used the Media General Standardization package from 2007 to 2013. So i guess this means WRAL gets to keep In Sink V.4 By 615.
Leavellebrett 85 Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 Nope, WNCN is using Canvas by Stephen Arnold. They used the Media General Standardization package from 2007 to 2013. ...Canvas is the NEW Media General package.
channel2 982 Posted February 9, 2016 Posted February 9, 2016 What about in Denver (KCNC)? They ran a newscast after the Super Bowl too.
TriangleTriadMediaNews 267 Posted February 9, 2016 Posted February 9, 2016 Assuming WILM is still directly simulcasting WRAL (outside of pre-taped local WX inserts), I wonder how NBC will like a CBS affiliate airing taped pieces from their network news?
hathawaynson2 39 Posted February 9, 2016 Posted February 9, 2016 ...Canvas is the NEW Media General package. Agree with that statement.
NEOMatrix 1305 Posted February 9, 2016 Posted February 9, 2016 I wonder if WNCN will put a CBS eye in the logo so that 80-year-old ladies don't call up 17 to see why the Today Show is on WRAL.
DirtyHarry 727 Posted February 9, 2016 Posted February 9, 2016 WRAL has figured out how to promote their impending nuptials with the Peacock network by employing, well, a live peacock. And then he crapped all over the desks.
atlnews2 591 Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 I stumbled upon this on WNCN's website. http://wncn.com/2016/01/27/wncn-announces-cbs-lineup-adds-local-news/ It gives us a glimpse at the new graphics and tells us the new name. WNCN will now be known as CBS North Carolina and the news with be called North Carolina News As of now CBSNorthCarolina.com redirects to WNCN.com; I suspect that will change soon.
tw-804 193 Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 According to this article, WNCN's talk show My Carolina Today (which will move from 11am to 9am on the 29th) will have a new name: My Carolina Talk.

Holy hell... that will be awful. But I guess they are getting the name from North Carolina News. The name doesn't seem right to me for some reason.

CBS North Carolina?!?!? There's about 6 markets in North Carolina! Why not brand as CBS Triangle, CBS 17, or even "WNCN CBS"? Media General just ignited my pet peeve!
TennTV1983 806 Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 CBS North Carolina?!?!? There's about 6 markets in North Carolina! Why not brand as CBS Triangle, CBS 17, or even "WNCN CBS"? Media General just ignited my pet peeve! Nexstar will probably force them to revert back to being called WNCN months after the merger is done (either that or rebrand the station as Local 17).
Nelson R. 569 Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 Also they have made changes to their originally planned schedule. Judge Judy will be at 9:30 and Judge Mabelan at 12:30 and 1. Why not a double run of Judge Judy at 12:30, a much better lead out to the news if they are not going to air Young and the Restless at 12:30 or an hour of noon news?
tyrannical bastard 4018 Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 The name wouldn't have been my first choice. I know Raleigh is the state capital and all, but it's too broad of a name for a CBS affiliate in the Triangle as opposed to the entire state. The look has a little of a CBS O&O vibe to it meshed with the recently launched graphic package at WSPA....even tying in the new CBS Sports graphics too...

Most likely because the graphics are designed by former Giant Octopus employees.* *According to rumors.
